I was there, nobody knew them, blew everyone away. I bought everything I could find after that. I had the whole gig on tape for years, lost it. It was so innovative, especially the edge, so pure. October came, was ok, War came, had a couple of good songs, then Joshua Tree, it was over. I know, most people think that was when it all begin, but this raw U2, so beautiful, that was the band I loved.
I thought War had at least two great songs, a couple of good to very good songs, and a few forgettable ones. Overall, I thought the War album very good to great. Not perfect though.
Someone waved the flag with the Crass logo????? Oooooommmmmgggg what a shame.....!!!! If Crass see this they will throw up.... at least, Crass were legends in 1979-82, The U2, not so!!!! Rock business is good for fame n’ millions. U2 achieved this, Crass kept only the fame and a reputable image on Rock music
