Thank you! I’m making my friends wedding cake and I got confused as to how to make a tall cake but this tutorial is brilliant!
thank you! 💕 appreciate your taking the time to share your feedback x
What inch tin did you use to make these cakes ??
Hello! Is the recipe from the link enough for the six pieces of cake or do we need to double it ? Please
Great tutorial!!!
thank you! 💕 appreciate your taking the time to share your feedback x
It looks great but I am curious about the white icing showing through when you were completed. Did you not add more pink frosting and cover it because that is where your decorations were going so you weren’t worried about it?
Hi 👋
If then making this double barrelled cake into a two tier cake would you just add more dowels to the top of the double barrelled and a longer central dowel? They don't need to go through the middle cake board as well? :) any help would be fab 🙏 xxx
Hi Thank you so much for this tutorial! Can you please let me know how many servers have that 7" inch double barrel cake ? Thank you in advance!
I have a free Portion Guide here which will help you know how many portions every tier serves. Just double up a 7 inch and you'll know the portions :) learn.sugarcakeschool.com/courses/cake-portion-guide-free
Love this, thank you! Do you recommend cardboard or acrylic discs? I noticed with the acrylic disc it only had one hole in the centre. X
A cardboard cake board is best xx
Perfect🥰🥰🥰🥰
thank you! 💕 appreciate your taking the time to share your feedback x
Great
So happy to hear! Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback xx 💕
what size is this cake? 6'or 8'
👌
Nice tutorial...
Do you think this would work with Mascarpone cream frosting ??
Yes it will, but remember to keep it in the fridge as mascarpone is not shelf stable ourside of the fridge xx
Amazing!! How did you get that beautiful pink!!
pink & red gel food colour :)
This is just what I needed, thank you.
Also, where do you get wooden dowels from and do you leave instructions for your clients on how to cut these tall cakes?
I know you.... you were there in another same content video.... asking the same question !🤷🤷
@@ahlamhussein6508 well, I got my answers and no longer am I asking. 😀😄
you can buy them online or from cake decorating stores. I would definitely either provide verbal or printed information for your clients regarding the dowel removal :) Wedding venues and event spaces should also be notified when delivered the cake xx
How much buttercream did you use for this recipe? Is 1x your swiss meringue buttercream recipe sufficient? I'm making this cake as my wedding cake and really don't want to run out halfway through.
I’d say double it if you’re unsure
I wonder how to cut and serve the cake with all the dowels and straws
Just remove them prior to cutting and serving x This has to be communicated to client
When you say chill the cake before making straight edges at the top? Do you mean put it in refridgerator or freezer?
Either is fine. If using a freeezer, only do so for a few minutes to avoid over-chilling
Did u put straws in the top 3 layers aswell as the bottom?
The straws are used to support the top layers, so not needed.
Just the bottom xx
HI! IS THAT AN 8" OR 6" CAKE? THX!
it's a 7 inch cake :)
Is it 7 in diameter or in height ?
@@evelynmoreno4303 diameter
And height
What size cake pans did you use??
I believe this is 6 inches wide, but you can use any size really to make this orientation (5 inch up to 10 inches)
How thick is the dowel you're using?
Anything around 1cm thick will work well x (more of less by a few mm is okay too)
How tall is this cake???
approx 8 inches tall
How much butter cream you make for this size of cake. Hoe many recipe
One recipe will suffice. You can access the recipe and tutorial of how to make it here: learn.sugarcakeschool.com/courses/swiss-meringue-buttercream-video-tutorial
How many servings this for?
Hello! As this was made from a 7 inch round cake, it would feed the same amount as a round 7 inch (and this applies for any size cake tin you use). I have a free portion guide that shows you both the coffee + dessert portions for all diameter sizes. You can access it here: learn.sugarcakeschool.com/courses/cake-portion-guide-free
Im sorry but how the hell is anyone supposed to cut through that cake with cardboard and dowels everywhere?
Everytime you push the cake through the dowel it gave me anxiety 😂
no cakes were harmed in the making of this cake :P (but were eaten after)
;
That doesnt look very tasty
Looks amazing and delicious to me :)
