You can't beat Portsmouth history. Born there and everyone knows who and what Portsmouth was famous for .Wished I'd seen Nigel there today.

HMS WARRIOR,Restored in Hartlepool, my dad worked on the restoration, he was a shipwright carpenter. So proud. He also worked on HMS TRINCOMALEE which is still in Hartlepool.

I'm from Portsmouth, grew up there and recently moved away. I'll always be proud of my home city and it's history, but it's not the place I grew up in anymore. It's changed a lot and not for the better.

For 300 years between the 17th-19th centuries Britain was the global superpower that ruled the world = the British Empire wasn't perfect it did more good than not and the world would now be a much lesser place if it hadn't happened.

I am from Denmark. We also have a serious naval history. But this looks great. Would love to see these amazing ships one day!

Charles Dickens often referred back to Portsmouth in his novels (I am a Northerner, respect to the Pompies)

Some out there hate what Britain once was, for me i understand we cannot rewrite history even though some try, when i was in school in the 50s my house was Nelson , what do we have now ?? hedgehogs, times change and perhaps we forget how great our history is , A country is destroyed from within and thats whats happening to the UK now. Its a great day out and something to be proud of. Britain was the world's policeman ( or person) for 300 years.

wrong emphasis really, Nigel - no, purposed by God from outside time & space, England/Britain's true greatness comes from its foundation as a Pure Gospel nation,

In many ways, England's greatness comes from losing to the Romans and the Normans doesn't it?

If it weren't for the naval history, Pompey would’ve been a city build on scabbing Southampton docks. Absolute cesspool of a city.
