That was a lovely stroll down memory lane for me- I visited the Victory as a young girl in the 70’s during the Tall Ship’s race. The sight of those Tall Ships in procession coming out of Portsmouth Harbour is one of the most spectacular sights I have ever seen. I loved it!!!! ❤❤

Happy Belated Birthday Joerg! How wonderful that you have fulfilled a dream of a lifetime by touring the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth. I think regardless of whether or not maritime museums are a passion, you cannot help but get caught up in the history of the era and marvel at the magnitude of what sailors (and warriors) of the day endured on the high seas in times of calm and certainly in times of war. Incredible! Thank you again both for bringing us along!

Lb. I LOVE OLD SAILING SHIPS however they are rigged! Hello from Portsmouth New Hampshire 😊! I cannot explain why but when I saw the Victory during the opening moments of this video a THRILL ran straight through me!!!! Over the years as I have learned more about Nelson my admiration and respect have grown. Here in Portsmouth there is what is referred to as a tall ship parade of sail (larger vessels) every summer (excluding over the last two years due to Covid) and it is a thrill to view them on the Piscataqua river here in New Hampshire and Maine. THANK YOU SO MUCH for this video, it felt like being there myself 😊!! Lovely to see Joerg’s excitement and the revelation for Kirsten that it was a truly marvelous experience!

The ship looked huge but with 850 crewmen, it might have been crowded. The captain’s chamber looked spacious. So happy he got his birthday wish. Thanks for sharing another wonderful vlog 😍😘

Wonderful tour - thank you. I've been fascinated by the Mary Rose since the engineering feat of lifting it. And the views of HMS Victory were very impressive.

How wonderful for Joerg to fulfill a lifelong dream, to see the great ship, HMS Victory! My husband also realized his dream to see the ship when we visited in 2018. The ticket is a wonderful idea, as there is really so much to see, and it would be nice to stay at least a couple of days in town, and really immerse into the whole scene. It’s a very exciting area to visit. It was on the Solent that my eldest son learned to sail, last year!

Hello you lovely people, I’m so happy you went to the Portsmouth museum, my wonderful father was a sailor in the Royal Navy and we lived in Gosport just a ferry ride away from Portsmouth, my childhood was spent in Portsmouth and I’ve been aboard the Victory many times and the Warrior, I’m so happy you both love it and your video bought a tear to my eyes, I now live in the Midlands, but I will never forget my wonderful childhood, I’m so happy that Joerg loved it so much, what a great birthday present, brilliant video as usual, much love xxxxxxxxxx😘❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Beautiful.Thank you for the information on the tickets-so useful.I'm in my fifties and I last visited HMS Victory as a child-I must go again. I'm watching your Vlog from a beautiful holiday cottage in Whitby, on the gorgeous North Yorkshire Coast. As I type, I have a wonderful view of Whitby Abbey and St Mary's Church, the church bells are ringing, the sea is blue, so must get out there and make the most of it, it's a wonderfully historic area. I'll be catching up on some more of your Vlogs later this evening.

Wow… I have never taken so many pictures. Somehow I missed this video. I watch all of your videos. I happened on this just when I’m redoing my grandsons room. And ship wrecks and oceans and model ships is the theme. I hope in my lifetime I will see this. I’m sharing it to my daughter and my son in law and my husband. Maybe our family will want to go see it. I must start saving up. We had a frozen pipe burst in my grandsons room ceiling . So now we have to get to work. Thanks for sharing. God Bless you both.

That was fascinating! What a massive vessel for the times! So elegant too. My dad was an American sailor during WWII. So we consider ourselves a Navy family. My husband, brother & uncle were all sailors as well. Some Vietnam & WWII. My father’s sibling all served in various military branches during WWII. My aunt was also in the navy. I saw the USS Enterprise docked in Pearl Harbor in 1969. It was shockingly gigantic. Thanks for the tour.

Hello from Florida! Amazing history! It can be so much fun to learn and explore! In fact, your regency video in Bath inspired me to delve into Jane Austen and her novels. She lived during the Nelson/Napoleon times and I wonder what she thought about the political events of her day, as a woman. Anyway, I’m particularly enjoying “Northanger Abbey” and I am considering renting a Jane Austen movie. Thank you for posting! I look forward to your next adventure as always!

Two of her brothers were very senior naval officers so I expect she knew a fair bit. Try and rent or buy the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice. It is 1995, but has not been bettered.
