    Wilson Combat Professional Tactical Elite
    Colt python
    Colt Trooper
    Ruger Mk 1
    Sig Sauer P320

    Great Video Sir! I have seen some of this on our channel. After 600 videos I think I have covered about 60 to 70% of the modern choices out there. So for example when the Glock guys get started on my large 1911 collection, I quickly shut them down by saying…. “Hey I get the Glock thing, I own a Bakers Dozen (13) Glock Pistols.” They usually stop there because most of them only own 2, 3 or 4 Glock Pistols! 😂😂
    It is a good way to shut down the my Glock,HK,Sig, Tisas, S&W,Ruger, and CZ is better than your 1911, Glock, Sig, CZ, Revolver, etc. etc. To name a few. This might be worth a try if you feel the need. 😊😎🇺🇸

    " Profiteers. "

    I've tried them all at one time or another. Most recently, I had a fling with 1911's. But after fighting with the reliability of my stock 1911's, I went back to ugly old Glock. My G21 Gen5 worked perfectly right out of the box at a fraction of the price of my 1911's. I realize that there are better guns to be had. But right now, that's where I'm at. To each his own.

    I’m a revolver guy. I got nothing against semi pistols and have a few as well. But I do notice semi people never speak of semi’s jamming. I see it happening sometimes so I know it does happen. I never see a revolver jamming, maybe a non-fire then they move to the next chamber and fire away.
    Of my semi pistols, I’ve only experienced 22s jamming. But I will also say I buy high quality firearms so maybe that’s the difference.

    I am one of those guys who when he gets a new (to me) handgun I tend to 'fondle it a lot' and... once broke in (for me) it ends up taking some other guns place on the nightstand. my choice for nightstand guns are never ones that the 'experts' would have. They tend to be revolvers or a 1911. but my latest and best choice is a Uberti 1873 Colt clone in 44 special. I handload 250 grain cast and coated SWC bullets at around 800-850 fps depending... it is a fairly mild load with energy level about like a 1911 in 45 acp or a 45 Colt. plenty good. Why tho? I mean tiny little sights... single action... only 6 rounds.... I have been shooting one or another Colt or clone 1849-1873 wheelgun for maybe half a century. but still... why? well the clue is in the word 'nightstand' Implication and reality is...... you are next to it in bed at night! I learned how to hip shoot and point shoot on an old Colt many many years ago. For point shooting there is nothing superior meaning... everything else with the possible exception of a 1911 is inferior for that kind of use. Sooooo... it is dark. you can't see the sights anyway and there is no distance that is over 20-30 feet in your home... and you have to do it quickly most often So far as I know.. the single action 1873 style gun is STILL the fastest from the holster (or nightstand) to the first accurate shot of any gun ever made. Also I am a huge fan of great big heavy lead slugs. Killed a lot of critters with single actions right in that load range. What about only six rounds? really? seriously? more than 6 rounds in that situation? if so you probly have a glock and can't point shoot. And I have other guns around here and there not to mention the custom 870 leaning in the corner there.
    On the Ruger Mk1 My first handgun was a High Standard Sport king 22 semi auto Made in 1952 or so... I was 9 when gramps gave it to me. Must have put a gazillion rounds through it. Friends had Rugers I was always better. My other gramps had a Mk1 he bought in 1962 and at his place in the desert we cousins (20 or so) all got to shoot it. To me? it was.....OK... barely. Soo when he passed away my dad got it but he never really liked it much. I had a High Standard like the original one and my dad loved it. so I gave it to him. I don't shoot 22 much... He in turn gave me the Ruger... sooo Ok... it was now a 'family' gun. this year I have been teaching my grand daughter to shoot... She was staying with me while she had her baby. She really liked that gun... even more than my 1936 Smith K22 (outdoorsman) Sooooo... in the spirit of 'family gun' I gave it to her. There was not much separation anxiety over that. They are a good gun... just not my cup of scotch. Anyway us old guys do tend to ramble on a bit. I may be a bit immature too... just put a tune on my hemi charger ex cop car and looking forward to locking all the doors for a bit when my girlfriend comes out next week for her next visit. Those things keep me busy and learning and so do guns.... stop learning new things or buying new tools? then you are just marking time waiting to die.

      I want 1st Gen SAA so bad I can taste it. I had one a long time ago bit it was a poor example. Badly refinished black powder frame. I could not find anyone to work on it amd make it safe to fire. Normally i woukd tey myself but this thing had issues so I traded it away for something. I will get one one day when I find the right deal that works for me. So basically I get it with the single action. The Ruger is cool to me but I also understand the high standard. One thing is that handguns.... are not easy to shoot well... that is simplistic but the root of some of this. I am mostly a revolver guy.. right there is a spot of contention to black plastic gun guys. and to top it off my self chuckers are 1911's and oddball WW2/cold war stuff and maybe a PPK or two and some little 25 acp Colt whatever.. So for semi's I want something single action with a good trigger and steel frame with removable grips. I want to be able to make the gun fit my hands (with some limitations) and to be accurate and to fit my ego.. that last means probly the grips at least are 'somewhat' exotic but they also have to fit well to my hand/grip I don't really care much about what others shoot or like but I have offended glock owners. I simply won't even shoot one.. like "no thanks" they are not fun for me and the grip angle is simply wrong. I don't want my hands and wrists contaminated... LOL Really tho the truth is if you learn to hip shoot or point shoot one then you can't hip or point shoot anything else well and vice versa. Soooo I just avoid em. I am also not a fan of the South American guns. This is simply bad history and they may be better now but I really don't need to add one to what I already own. Lastly... I am not great with myth. When someone tells me say that Rugers are built like tanks... Not really except for bulk. People confuse bulk with strength. Rugers have cast parts. Those parts are cast extra thick to make up for being weaker than other things like forgings. I will also mention that their quality control on tooling is spotty to say the least. When a tool for say reaming cylinders gets worn? they keep using for way too long. undersize chambers result. If you get a good one? they are great I have also been known to not be able to suppress a chuckle when I see a 'judge' Is it really true that they can knock down a barn! I mean... if you could hit one that is...but pretty much if asked.. I will explain why i like or don't like certain guns based on what I want from one personally.

    would I buy a new COLT Python? sure. the only thing stopping is the price.( since the new gun is not as hand fitted like before then it should be priced like a new S&W M66 ) .but one day one of the new ones might be a good used gun find. after all it is better made than the old one. and it won't go out of time like some of my old COLTs have .and would I carry it for protection? sure. one look at that gun I probably won't need to fire a shot. and if I do? not too many people argue with you after you hit them with a 357 magnum. I sometimes carry one of my S&W M19s or my M65 or M66. good guns. my issue Glock 19 gen 5 goes in the safe when I get home. tired of being with it after a day of work . ( and so you know, I have had 2 stove pipes with it in qualification shoots , none with my Sigs, none with my older S&Ws M39 and M909s so far ). and of course all my revolvers just go bang like they should.

    • @TerryBenton
      @TerryBenton  Před měsícem

      What a great comment. Thenonly think I will.say is that the Colt Python is only moderately more than a new smith 686 which it is similar too. If it was still hand fit the cost woukd be $4k. $1500 give or take is nit that bad considering how much better finished off the gun is and the action is way better than a new smith right out of the box. Just think about it.
