- What is a dry socket? Why does it happen ? How long does it last? Which is the treatment? Here we explainthe infection after tooth extraction:
00:00 Introduction:
This 3d video from Clínica Médico Dental Pardiñas (j.mp/cPardinas) shows the origin of dry socket, its treatment and its prevention.
00:08 Healing after tooth extraction:
After performing a dental extraction, the place on which the roots of the tooth are settled, called the alveolus, is exposed, forming a blood clot on it, thus generating the first stages of healing and protecting the nerve endings of the empty dental socket.
00:21 What does dry socket look like:
Occasionally, this clot may not form due to various factors, or it may disappear due to contamination by food debris or smoking during this healing phase. This produces a process called dry socket. When the nerve endings are exposed, intense pain is generated in the area, which usually appears during the first 3 days after a tooth extraction.
00:48 Dry socket treatment:
The main treatment is symptomatic with pain medication. It is also important to remove food debris by irrigating the area with saline solution. Curetting of the socket may be indicated to decontaminate the bone surface and cause bleeding for a new clot to form.
01:27 Treatment with Plasma Rich in Growth Factors:
Another effective treatment is the placement in the alveolus of plasma rich in growth factors, since it has bacteriostatic properties and favors tissue regeneration. It can also be used preventively, placing it at the time of extraction.

I had one of these. It was terrible. It was the worst pain I've ever felt in my life and I've had numerous broken bones, a case of COVID-19 that I barely survived, and I've been stabbed in the gut. Broken sockets are the worst. FOLLOW YOUR DENTIST'S INSTRUCTIONS!
hope you are doing okay now
omg i feel so bad
I hope ur good now.
And jeez, if it's THAT bad, I think I WANT braces.

I had a tooth pulled about a week ago and have been SO paranoid about dry socket 😭 thank you everyone for sharing!
Bro I had mine yesterday I’m freaking the fuck out
I had wisdom tooth removed 2 days ago. And getting paranoid to...worse part is if i dont get dry socket this time i got 2 more extractions to get that are no wisdom tooth
@matt17389 how'd it go bro I had my wisdom last year and I'm fine just had a small extraction and I'm down the rabbit hole again
@@saltathan2921 it took a while. I had a tiny pocket in mine and it was only partially healed..now i dont feel a thing and eating everything. You will get there just give it time. If u feel pain, or if it doesnt feel right go straight back to your dentist for them to check it out
I got my back bottom tooth pulled 8 days ago. Do I need to worry about dry socket anymore?
This really is the most unimaginable pain I’ve even been through…those who’ve had it before understand but trust me when I tell you to do exactly as the dentist says when you get an extraction
I’m having tooth out in 2 days my back bottom one as it’s cracked in half I’m so scared of more pain I’ve had it for months and intense type cluster headaches 🥺
I totally get it. I am going through this pain now. At one point I felt like I am going to die with this pain. It’s better now but I am not recovered yet
Yeah same, diagnosed with dry socket 5 days ago. I'm still taking pain killers. now I can feel the new clot, but the pain still remains on an annoying level :((

2% of people get dry socket after tooth extraction
Having a toothache hurt worse than having a baby.. man I tell you I want to cry and punch a wall lol.. I got my tooth pulled today, and sutured.. don’t want no dry pocket believe me💙🙏🏾
Going through dry socket currently.
I've now had all four wisdom teeth out but second time with Dry Socket.
It's an unbearable constant pain with throbing. It's like my jaw has a strong heartbeat.
I am on Antibiotics for it too and have now developed Oral Thrush. So as you can imagine I'm at my whits end here.
that is why people when the dentist tells you not to eat certain things or do certain things while you are healing from a tooth removal and gives a list of what you should do you should do them. i had to eat nothing but lukewarm soup for a week and a half and it sucked! but my mouth healed up well and i didn't have any complications.
@Matt Beckley how about you try not smoking in the first place
@Matt Beckley nicotine patches work..I'm a heavy smoker got mine pulled 2days ago and still haven't smoked...i had to weigh the options..smoke my cigarettes or have excruciating pain for a week...i chose neither and put a 21mg patch on
It’s after 3am and I’m on day five of being diagnosed with dry socket. It’s so hard to do anything, to sleep or concentrate when you’re in so much pain. 😣 I did everything by the book but two days after the extraction I started to get pain into my jaw and neck. I went back to the dentist and she cleaned it out and packed it and gave me antibiotics. It felt so much better for a few hours. But I woke up today in so much pain and it’s now radiating into my cheek 😞
Hi I just had the same issue. I had my lower wisdom teeth removed on March 18th and had a dry socket on the left side. I kept going back to the oral surgeon because the pain medications weren’t working. I felt it in my neck, cheek and ear! It took about 15 days for me to get some relief and now I still feel a little pain at the extraction site but definitely not as bad. Make sure you’re rinsing with saltwater after every single meal and try to brush even if it’s painful to avoid infection. Good luck!
😱 omg
I’ve got that stage now, woke early hours of this morning in agony.
ugh I'm sorry hope you're better now! I don't know what mine is yet, but it's killing! took a few pain killers so I can sleep! have the appointment later today

The worst part is the pain. The second worst is the lack of sleep.
Third is not eating
I think not eating is the worst lol i had three pulled and i almost black out

How long did u not eat for that u lost that much weight? I’ve got one dry socket and I’m in immense pain for last 40 hours. I have to act all cheery for my kids as wel 😂 3 kids under 3 don’t know how I’m coping but this pain is horrible won’t even go away with pain killers
@@Smiileyy345 see the oral surgeon or something ASAP because it makes the pain stop it felt so much better
@@Smiileyy345 there is a paper filling they need to put in that has a Smokey flavor to put inside the open socket. They will you a syringe to clean out the socket each time you eat and will refill it with the paper every few days until it dries up. Straight up painkillers won’t do much. Indeed it was hell and I spent most of that summer sleeping and resting but I was fat at the time and needed to lose weight so it was a good thing

When did you end up smoking im on day 2 too and barely hanging on
50-years ago they told patients to "keep the socket clean" and even handed out flush syringes. Which of course caused dry sockets. Treatment was simply to flush the socket, and pack it with paper stripping soaked in Clove Oil (now called Eugenol). This was done for three days. There was no curettage done. Pain relief was immediate after the first treatment.
I clean out the blood cloth from my own because my wife told me that my mouth is smelly after I did that I started get sevare pain but this smell was 80%gone but the pain was sevare

I has a wisdom tooth removed and got dry socket. It was the worst week of my life. The pain was worse than anything I have er experienced and I didn't sleep for a week. Even mega painkillers didn't even touch it! It was worse than broken bones by a long way. It's pain beyond pain that is in your head and face there is nothing you can do about it for a whole week. Breathing is scary as every breath you take goes across those nerves and makes it twenty times worse for a split second. Every breath is torture.
I wish I didn't read this bc I have to get my wisdom teeth out today
@@timduncan9696 how did it go I’m getting mine extracted next month :((

How did you get it? Can you get it without smoking?
@@DeeSnutts I had a warm drink and I think that did the damage. I didn't smoke.
This is what happened to me. A dry socket. The pain was worse than when the tooth was in. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. They cleaned it, sucked out all the food and packed it. 3 days after the intervention and the pain is gone.
How are you now?
Oh great. Here I was, finally getting over my fear of getting my wisdom teeth removed, and then I learn about THESE THINGS.
Currently experiencing dry socket, second time now and all I can say is that I can't wish this even to my enemies,so much insane pain
Had my wisdom teeth done last Friday and I ended up getting dry socket despite being so careful and following the surgeons instructions. Worst pain I have felt in my life, had to go in and get a dressing for the tooth and it still hurts. Dry socket is no joke, would rather be hit by a car than deal with this pain any longer 😭

@gma904 did you get dry socket right away or a few days after? Took wisdom tooth out yesterday but feel nothing at all the next day
@@bhabits7358how u doing now?
It's been 8 days. How I avoided dry socket, this is WHAT I DID:
The injections and extractions didn't hurt, but I felt significant pressure when they pulled them out!!!
The doctor didn't really give me instructions aside from prescribing medication (for pain, swelling and antibiotics)
I kept biting the gauze for 2 hours until I arrived home. Don't speak please!!! just remain silent, FOCUS ON THOSE CLOTS!!!
Went to my bathroom, I took the gauze out very slowly from both sides...
I immediately drank my medication pills but tried to not swallow too hard!!! I was really scared of losing my clots ToT
then cleaned AROUND MY MOUTH with paper towel bc oh boy one side was still bleeding and everything felt a mess inside!!!
DID NOT WASH MY MOUTH WITH WATER OR ANYTHING after that, ONLY PUT NEW, CLEAN, DRY GAUZE TO BITE
(DO NOT INTRODUCE THE GAUZE INSIDE THE HOLES OR ANY DEEP!!! JUST BITE) AND WENT TO SLEEP in a sitting position.
please don't wash, rinse your mouth and don't eat for 1 day!!!! eat beforehand (A LOT, i ate and drank the most I could)
and use mouth wash before the procedure bc your mouth will feel gross the next day!!!
The second day I woke up (I slept for 7 hours maybe), I was not in pain, I took the two gauzes out again and the holes bled a bit.
I drank my medication very slowly with little water.
I did not wash at all but tried to dry my mouth and other teeth and gums with gauze as well except my premolars...
My mouth felt nasty. I was so anxious my clots would fall.
Anyways, the CLOTS were THERE, I was so happy!!! One side was still bleeding a bit though, so I thought I should keep biting a small gauze and don't speak for the rest of the day as well. (Do not bite hard if it's still bleeding a bit, just bite normally with your mouth closed)
The second day I drank soup only and ate mashed potatoes with my tongue basically...
At the end of the 2nd day I drank ensure advance and felt full.
The third day I got up, checked the clots (they were dark red) and just then I felt confident enough to rinse my mouth with salt, IT FELT SO GOOD.
I finally also washed my lower teeth with toothpaste very carefully and my front teeth as well. Do not rinse strongly, just let the water fall from your mouth corner.
End of third day I ate only soups, mashed potatoes, 2-3 ensure advance, nothing solid yet.
The fourth day I finally ate small pieces of chicken (but be careful cuz they get stuck) and since then, I started eating solid food little by little and rinsed with salt after eating my meals.
I did not eat rice until the 7th day, it keeps getting stuck!!!
And that's how I survived premolars extractions!!!
Thank you for sharing your experience!
When did you start spitting and using a straw? I always need to spit several times after brushing my teeth and I use straws quite frequently 😭 it’s been over 48 hours now and I’m just wondering.
Mine got gray and black some color and some little hole in it. Is it good or not feel little pain there. 3rd day today.
you shouldn't keep the gauze there for 2 hours, by then the blood clot can stick to the gauze and you can pull it out when you remove the gauze, 30mins is recommended, but an hour shouldn't be too risky.
@@MarkWhich the drive home was two hours 😥 i live far away from the dental office and fell asleep 😆
Got all four wisdom teeth removed and caught a dry socket , my whole neck, jaw and side of my face ache with pain ,and painkillers do nothing it’s hard to sleep .. I went back to the surgeon he cleaned it and packed it with some type of ointment ..I felt some relief but it still hurts .. I feel hopeless at this point I still have to work in pain.
I was surprised my back started hurting after tooth extraction but found out its referred pain. Similar to how the tooth pain gave me headaches, painful jaw before extraction... extracting can cause such a rush of pain (that you don't feel) but it hurts your back. 😳 hopeful it won't last too long. 7 hours after surgery and i feel no pain in mouth at all.
Just imagine how bad it hurts without any pain killer injection. Respect to ancient ancestors with bad teeth.
I had a tooth removed Wednesday, I follwed the instructions by the book and was so paranoid of dry socket. Its now Sunday at 1 am and I am in the most unimaginable pain. I can barely think, sleep or do anything! I am calling the surgeon first thing in the morning 😢
I had 3 dry sockets in one extraction. I followed all my after care instructions. It was the most painful thing I’ve EVER experienced
Great Video Doctor! oddly satisfying Loved it ❤
Thank you!
I've had 3 teeth extracted over the years and luckily I didn't get dry socket. But it always worries me. I have a tooth that may need to be removed. In all honesty I'd rather have it removed than get a root canal done. Someone where I work had her wisdom teeth removed and all of them ended up with dry socket.
I got my tooth pulled out today. Im so scared that i dont do anything wrong haha. I actidently spit once. But hope its nothing now .
Root canals don’t hurt!!!!! Why is this myth still going round!? I’ve had 4 root canals and neither of them hurt! The only thing that hurt a little was the needle for injection but that was it.
The pain is so unbearable and all you can hope for is the day it goes away. Lasted about 10 days and countless boxes of painkillers. My advice to anyone is look after your teeth.
10 days after extraction or 10 days after getting dry socket?
i got 3 wisdom teeth removed on the 1st so far im doing good im doing all the rules i was tripin a bit because i dident know what dry socket lookd or felt like but i realiesd that im still good no pain no smell just good vides ima wait at least a month before hardcore smoking just do the rules guys and you would know if you had dry socket people say immense pain so ima listen to them cheers
I had one after an impacted wisdom tooth extraction. I followed the dentist instructions and still ended up with one. Horrible pain. Worst Ive ever had. I went back and he had what looked like a ribbon of something like stiff cloth that was soaked with pain killer. He rolled it up tight and shoved it in the hole. Instant relief! It lasted for about a week and it hurt like hell when he removed it and almost puked. 🤣
Ikr!! I followed all the instructions but now im suffering. Gonna see doc tmr
Edit: the surgeon placed herb like medication and the pain decreased by a good 40% ! I did use ice pack all the way. They removed that after 3-4days..im so much better now. Healing well too

Thank you so much doc
Ive experienced dry socket 1 time… flat out the worst 30 minutes of pain while they were fixing it in my life… iv broke multiple ribs at the same time, torn tendons. Dry socket is on a whole different level… pretty much they purposely ripped out the stitches to make it bleed, then cleaned it out, then jammed a strip of stuff with clove oil and morphine down into the socket… the morphine didn’t come close to touching the pain… we did that process like 4 times in a week, absolutely horrible experience… don’t play games, don’t drink from a straw, smoke, vape, anything that can cause the clot to dislodge… it’s not worth it…
I got a tooth extraction yesterday, I got a dry socket pretty quick for some reason. the pain was so damn unbearable I was about to gouge my eyes out.
So the first time I got my two wisdom teeth pulled on the left side of my mouth I went home and start smoking and I definitely had dry socket. I was in soooo much pain it was horrible. I just got the other side done 3 days ago and completely different experience this time. My mouth is sore but I’m not in nearly as much pain as I was the first time. Please please don’t smoke anything. I know most people like to think marijuana is the key to fixing all pain but trust me you’ll regret it.
I had to have this procedure today, I don't bleed easily, had no blood to clot first time round. Hope today gets better, I'm so scared of a repitition..And it's Christmas eve and lots to do 😢😢
Im ready this for my son!!!
So all 4 of my surgical sights healed, but one is still slightly open and there's exposed bone. No food gets stuck in it (I literally can't explain how), but it doesn't hurt, it doesn't bother me, there's literally no pain. I still smoke and still nothing, I don't even feel it.
Would they have to go back in and close it or is this fine to leave because it's so small and gives me no issues or any blood or infections or pain? It's been around 6 months since the healing and I've had no issues, and I'm wondering if they're going have to do anything to it.
Day 10 of dry socket . After 4 molar teeth extracted. Bone diaphragm filled on bottom right. Bottom left is to big of a hole thats where my dry socket is at. Cant eat much because i have to clean it out to prevent infection. Nerve is exposed and is brain wrecking. Headache and ear throbbing pain . Waiting to go back soon . Not much to do i believe by now.
Had a tooth pulled upper left 2md from the back. Largest tooth in the mouth. For 2 weeks i was in pain on tylenol and Motrin around the clock. The pain was so bad i was almost in tears. 14 days later i went to the dentist. No Dry socket but apparently it was packed with food so it wouldn't heal properly. Yes i brush twice a day but its kinda hard to brush a open hole in your mouth. They flushed it out witch hurt like hell, and caused instant bleeding. But 5 hours later and it already feels better. Crazy thing was they stiched the hole after removing the tooth and i still had problems.
I had a tooth pulled almost 2 weeks ago and I’m in excruciating pain!!! Worst pain ever! The dental assistant told me that they knew I was going to have a dry socket because I didn’t bleed after my extraction because of all of the anesthetic used. The dentist refused stronger pain meds because he said they’re not writing prescriptions to get people high. (Like I wanted to ask what he was insinuating 😡) I’m so annoyed and in pain right now. I just wish it would heal already
Are you okay now? How long before it felt a little better?

After numerous calls to 111, I was told to use painkillers.. obviously I explained that no painkillers were ever getting close to the pain of this, so today I go into see my usual dentist and it's took him about 5 seconds to know I've got a bone infection
Yes it’s an excruciating pain, it should be treated ASAP
What did you do to get it fixed?
How did you get treated
I dont feel a pain, i dont have a bad smell from my mouth, but i feel a pain like when you have a canker mouth.. it feels like that when i drank water. And also i got this bad taste from my saliva, not blood but the taste very weird. Then when i woke up the next day, there’s a bubble thing formed near the clot. And when i contacted the clinic, they said that the healing process not completely done and they told me to went to the dentist again. Then, the doctor said that i got dry socket.. i was very shocked XD the thing that i really scared after removing my tooth was that and didn’t expect i got it, since what i’ve in my mind about dry socket is different. So the doctor try to pop it, and then gave an antiseptic around it. I also didnt feel the pain when the doctor try to remove it. After he finished, i can feel a weird taste from before and it almost enter my throat and gave me zinc tablet and antibiotic 😂 So i dont know why this happen, but maybe because of my immune system weakened and also after tooth extraction, i’ve been bleeding almost 15 hours. It made me change the gauze more often

I can see everyone’s sharing their stories on pre/post treatment.
2 year ago roughly my second top left molar was screwed (I’d already had the nerve endings taken out) I’m in the U.k. and then went to a private dentist and had a root canal treatment with a crown. About 18 months later the crown fully came out whilst eating a harribo sweet! I couldn’t believe it!!! Anyway I go back to then dentist and they tell me it’s finished . they can cover it up for however long it will last but after that it needs to be taken out fully.
So after a few months of bottling it up and 2 days ago I arrive at the dentist for the removal. Procedure all goes well, took some time to get the thing out and apparently it had all broken up. Face felt like i’d been beaten up really bad as I had a filling done on the other side prior to that. I’m a smoker but I refuse to smoke right now because the hole looks a right mess! 24 years of age and it’s making me question my lifestyle and food choices from now on. The whole thing was bleeding dark red blood for 6 hours afterwards but after 24 hours it’s dried out and seems to be forming blood clot (I hope).
My question is to anyone reading this, my cheekbone has been inflamed for around 3-5 months now prior to this treatment. I rang the dentist back today and enquired about some antibiotics and they said i’m ok i don’t need them. The tragus part of my ear, that’s where it’s felt off now for months on end and i cannot describe it. Could I possibly have had dry socket for months without knowing and having no nerve endings in that tooth? I’m really confused i’ve had a bad taste / smell in my mouth for a few months now. Back to my ear near the tragus part where your cheek bone is has been slightly raised like a big solid lump . Especially compared to my other side which is completely normal. I just pray to god it’s not a dry socket!
I’d also like to add i’ve still a bad taste / smell in my mouth now after the treatment is significantly worse than before the treatment , which i experienced for a few months on and off.
Hope everyone else’s treatments go well & if anyone can possibly help me please !
sounds like the tooth was infected for a long time
@@trinabean yes dentist given me antibiotics & treated dry socket. Still swollen after a week and painful but in another week or so I presume it'll be fine
From my previous experience, it going to be better weeks by weeks .. for me it took almost a month for complete recovery. I used to cry in pain and agony thinking that I am never going to be the same old me . I thought I might die . Just pray well . God bless
@@ajinubabu6528 Mine wasnt that bad i dont know if its cos the nerve endings was taken out years before my root canal treatment. But the packet fell out 2 hour after they treated my dry socket. Tasted and stunk like shit lol. Been back on to solid foods over the last 2 week still rinsing with salt water as its healing but yeah never ever getting another root canal i dont think that helped my gum at all. You can see the side of the gum split where my root canal must've been clamped in. Rather just get implants next time
@@wayne0075 Long story short they gave me antibiotics the week after & it helped a lot. Strange thing now is my jaw / left side needs cracking almost everyday. Not a clue why or whats going on but the holes heeling nicely! Just trying to figure out why the jaw cracks in a morning when I open my mouth wide. It has to be done or I can only open my mouth 75%. Dentist acts like its nothing to worry about and completely fine although the crack seems to be getting louder and bigger. We'll see how it all plays out
had it on the right side, now Ive had it three times on the left side nothing hurts anymore compared to those treatments lmao even the doctor is concerned:) am I losing my mind yes I am
So uh i’ve had 2 of my teeth removed today and even after pressing gauze down to stop the bleeding, i dont think a blood clot appeared. I’m really scared to get a dry socket because i heard that it’s really painful so what can i do? And by the way i was eating and i think a piece of food might’ve went into my socket, and i’m not sure if i can take it out or if i leave it and then tomorrow i rinse it out. But at the same time im scared my blood clot might form then and block the food, leading to more complications so what do i do? Please help me
You supposed to contact dentist office about dry socket. It's not difficult for them to put you back on the correct healing path.
I had a wisdom tooth out Tuesday today is Saturday and I have a dry socket . It’s really painful and it’s annoying . I’m on antibiotics and I’m taking panadeine forte for pain , anyone know how much longer until it’s healed ? Btw I’m a smoker and I rinse and clean with saline every time and I went to dentist yesterday (Friday ) he packed it with some stuff that looked like tobacco and it tasted like clove oil but that didn’t help 😞. And my face is still swollen from extraction and I fed like I have a ear ache but there’s no infection there
It can take up to 15 days to heal. It’s important you keep the area clean, avoid smoking and take the medication prescribed
@@Dentalk yes I’m
Taking amoxicillin and panadeine forte and I’m trying best to keep it clean rinse with saline etc but I can’t stop smoking but I’m try to reduce , thx for responding are u a dentist ?
@@Dentalk went back to dentist this morning , got it packed again , there’s no pain at moment and dentist said no infection in there however what I am concerned about is a sharp pain shooting up toward ear every now n then like a bone pain any idea what this could be ? And if I had it removed last Tuesday how long until it will be healed ?
I had 3 wisdom removed at least 2 to 3 weeks to start healing. You gonna feel pain for two weeks at best before relief comes. Dentist told me to take 1000 mg extra strength tylenol and 1000 mg Ibuprofen at the same time it works. Lord jesus it helps big time. Take as needed.
@@delanteworthy5066 thx so much , yes I’m just starting to feel relief now , still taking pain killers at night time , omg 3 at once 😱 how did u cope with that it’s the worse thing ever
THAT LOOKS VERY PAINFUL
Smokers and people who like to rinse/spit are smug about my warnings after an extraction, until they actually experience a dry socket.
Yep. Worst pain I have ever experienced. I was really careful and it still happened!
I went out to eat a hour later after surgery 😅 I'm on day two I guess I'll take it a little more easy from here on out
@@Dexwrldonyt Oh god you all I am in agony right -now- with dry socket! What do I do?! FR...it's Saturday and no dentists are open....shit..this is so painful, I'm chewing my teeth!!
I smoked the same night if an extraction was just very careful, with weed of course. Just make sure to have wet gause over the area and make sure you inhale very carefully with corners of ur lips open so there isn't any pressure to rip off the wound. Plus when you bite down on the gause it makes it easier to breathe only using your chest.
Well the fact of the matter bro is that plenty of people took every single precaution and still got dry socket...so I mean it just seems to be one of those things
I just get my wisdom tooth left lower taken off...The stiches tear off in 3 days and i saw the hole and some gum is healing...? I saw some white substance but not sure is bone or other...so far now Day 5 i still feel normal....Strictly follow doc's instruction....i just wonder when my gum will cover that hole so I can eat like normal.....already day 5 with soft food and 2 piece of bread.......and 3kg gone...
It makes me sad because I did follow dentist instruction and still got a dry socket worse pain period.
I had the same happen when I was 17, followed instructions but got it anyway. I would rather break my ankle again than go through that dry socket pain ever again. The choice is very easy. Worst pain I have felt in my life. No pain killer helped.
Tell me why I had intense pain the night after the surgery smh 🤦🏽♀️ I have sudden pain here and there
man im more paranoid than a drug dealer ive been following what the dentist told me but geez i go to the mirror and check ever second

I feel what I think is a bone fragment in one of the holes I had pulled. I had my first top two molars, and I can’t tell whether I have a dry socket in one of them since I don’t feel any pain. I never had felt in mouth pain and i was awake during the surgery. Should I be worried?
If there’s no pain it shouldn’t be a dry socket
huh neat, this is one of the many uses of plasma. Makes my donation seem that much more worthwhile.
Think I have something similar but it's just a hole. Can't see inside or bone or anything just at bottom of my stitching so thinking the stitching came undo. It hurts so much that I cried badly. Been doing warm, salt and water rinse after every meal and been using the mouthwash they gave me 3 times a day as it's instructed on bottle. This side the dry socket was an impacted wisdom tooth with a pocket, could have possibly been infected so understandable the trauma could have caused this. The hole is like next to cheek/behind molar right in area where the extraction site was. Feel like I should go back but unsure as everywhere I look says it will heal on its own.
Update please! I had a dry socket on the left side the the right side is just a hole as you described, it aches but it’s not as bad as the dry socket so I’m not sure if I should go back again or just wait a couple weeks
@@Mimithegreat874 it healed slowly on it's own syringe out anything that goes in & warm water + salt solution after every meal
