After removing the RT retaining screw, turn the drill over to remove the chuck. You will be pushing the wrench into the work surface and you won't have to hold it against the hammer blows.

Please upload more. Specifically on the packout setup. I did a similar idea, but I have a lot fewer tools, so I have more space in the other part of the box. Your system is so space efficient, I'm wondering what I can add that I can use LOL
Heads up! I did this and utterly hate it. I use a 2' extension bit with a 18" auger regularly, and there is a lot of play with this setup, from base to tip of bit, very annoying! Not to mention, my dewalt hole hawg hardly ever e-clutched out. With this mod, it clutches out every other hole. Food for thought, I spend $60 and have nothing but regrets. 100% possible, -100% functionality Buy a new chuck, I'm looking into a keyless chuck.
Can someone do this same video but with a Milwaukee hole Hawg PLZ.. I got the quick lock chuck but cant get the old chuck off.. the Milwaukee doesn't have a place for you to put a wrench to stop it from spinning
We did something similar by clamping the hole hawg down and then putting a 36” pipe wrench on it and pulling the trigger. We did it to an old super hawg and it threw the pipe wrench. The chuck has been jammed.
What Is that quick chuck thread? Is it 5/8 × 16 fine thread? If so what is the Milwaukee part number? Want to convert mine. Mine has 5/8 ×16 thread. Thanks. Mark B.
Semi-related question I hope you could help with. I just bought a Dewalt DWD450 joist drill. First time I used it drilling into oak and reversed it, the chuck came unscrewed. I can't get it to stay on. It doesn't seem to have the T30 reverse screw. Manual says to insert hex and hit with hammer. Should I try red locktite? Thanks in advance.
