Schull used to be a bit of backwater up to the 1960's with "real" West Cork folk who didn't realise the gem they had. Then the tourists arrived and the rest is history. Its one of the most expensive places to buy property in Ireland. There aren't too many originals still alive in Schull except a scattering of my close relatives who are as old as I am....

I come from a line of Connells/O'Connells who came to America from Schull in the late 1800s.
