Just the other day..while we were lining up to enter a bank..an old man was not allowed to enter the bank by the security guard for not wearing a mask and the man behind him ran to 7eleven and bought him a mask. The old wanted to pay him back but the guy said no. He said Kita jaga Kita uncle. I wanted to cry. It's true we do take care of each other in times of crisis. Kudos Malaysia! #kitajagakita

orang Malaysia ni mcm adik beradik...suka bergaduh itu ini.tapi bila jumpa sama sendiri tetap panggil abang, kakak, adik, pakcik, makcik, uncle, aunty, ane, macha, bro, boss.itu beza rakyat kita dgn negara lain.hormat menghormati tu dah jadi darah daging.kita memang akan marah bila timbul isu sensitif, tapi sampai waktu ketika yg diperlukan..kita tetap tolong menolong antara satu sama lain.tak kira warna kulit atau kaum apa sekalipun.siapa lagi nak jaga orang sekeliling kita, kalau bukan kita sendiri.kita jaga kita.kita sayang semua rakyat kita seperti adik beradik, mak ayah, dan datuk nenek..

You should be proud bro to be a Malaysian!
Right now Malaysia will enter to new phase from Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) to Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) until 10 June - 31 August.
Now all Malaysian can go interstate or balik kampung meet the elders & many tourist sector have been reopen but the government still close international gateway & open domestic gateway.
    But Malaysia still need to get used to NEW NORM life like;
    1) Always wearing mask
    2) Keep yourself clean & always use hand sanitizer
    3) Social distancing 1 meter
    4) Avoid over crowded places
Anyway to both for you & all family member at US stay safe, keep healthy. Love from 🇲🇾

There is one major point I would like to add. During the MCO, EMCO and right until today, a lot of consideration and care was accorded to senior citizens ( age 60 and up) and those with special needs and their immediate caregivers. For example priority lanes are created for us ( I am a senior citizen) to access shops, supermarkets, post offices etc.
Some supermarkets even opened up to an hour earlier just for us.
We do not need to spend time in queues and can get our groceries, medication, etc etc very quickly snd then we go home. Now even barber shops opening tommorrow allocate the first two hours of business for senior citizens. I am so grateful for this care and consideration for senior citizens and those with special needs.
And yes, of course, I am very proud to be Malaysian!

Generally we have adapted really well - from the strict, highly restrictive MCO enforced on 18 March, to the gradual loosening of the MCO. One reason may be the high adherence of Malaysians to the advice given by the authorities who, to their credit, have conveyed the do's and don'ts in a clear, concise, coherent manner. (Malaysians generally are scared stiff of dying, so we tend to abide by the health rules 😝). The next phase begins tomorrow 10 June and ends 31 August - the Recovery MCO. Many people are already planning to balik kampung inter-state, and a significant number have ready booked local holidays, esp. to the islands. The economic sectors are nearly fully functioning save for the entertainment premises like pubs, clubs, karaokes and health centres (read 'massage of the dubious type' 😋). This phase will be most critical to the eventual decision to completely lift the restrictions.

As another proud displaced Malaysian, I would suggest the best comparison is between Malaysia and California. Populations are similar in size although CA has a much healthier economy. Still compare the COVID numbers. Malaysia took this seriously right at the beginning and with 117 deaths it still takes it very seriously. CA has 4,653 death. Right now Malaysia has 6 patients in ICU with 1 requiring a ventilator. For a county with 31 million people. The real key is something not mentioned in the video - the combination of a population that values community over self, and a unified de-politicized response to the situation. The messaging was all about saving lives and reducing suffering. If you look up the news videos, you'll also see that Malaysia was really good to the foreigners who were trapped there to the extent that many simply chose to stay in preference to returning home because it was safer. Very proud that the country understood the situation and made the very best use of the resources it had.

Just to let our beautiful and wonderful Msian-American couple know, besides the free hotel stay for 2 weeks during the compulsory quarantine for the Malaysians returning from overseas, they were also entitled for a token "pocket money" of RM700 !!! I was quarantined in Kota Bharu,Kelantan returning from Thailand and besides the free hotel, food and beverages, as well as free Wi-Fi , I also gained an extra weight of 5 kilograms !!! Corvid19 swab testing and blood test were on the "house" too. Last but not least, the frontliners were were so committed and passionate in their job , that made our 14 days stay became so homely and we felt like being "pampered ". Thank you very much to all our heroes and heroines, our beloved frontliners.

I think the bank part is a bit misleading...bank actually provides moratorium for 6 months to its lenders i.e. we don’t have to make loan repayment for 6 months without additional interest charges. I think this bit help a lot. I’m so proud of Malaysian. No of donation is seriously high, PETRONAS employees donated RM6.2 million voluntarily via salary deduction to COVID relief fund. on top of that ASTRO tv subscription is free, internet free...a lot more. Can’t describe the feeling how proud I am.

    There's more to be add
    16. Phone line carrier, provide user with 1gb of internet everyday during MCO and EMCO.
    17. Cable tv (astro) give all channel free for viewing during MCO and EMCO
    18. student finishing quarantine in university and college are sent home for free and escorted by police and military.
    19. Ex-University who had loan... did not have to pay for 6 month (eventho the loan already a very small amount)
    20. Small/medium business are given money (i dont remember how much) so that they can pay salary for workers to avoid sacking employee.
    21. We are now in RMCO (Rehabilitation) period until 31/8... Government introduction 'new normal' that must be follow and I really proud to say this that everybody including mall and business do it.
    22. Tax and bill to the government.. u don't need to pay (individuals only) for 6 month (correct me if I'm wrong)
    23. One more... Mostly of home owner didn't ask for monthly rental fee from their tenant

In early March, after the new PM took over, Malaysia was the worst hit COVID-19 country in ASEAN, top 20 worst hit in the entire world. All these occurred due to incompetent previous administration and power struggle between Mahathir and Anwar Ibrahim.
Yesterday we had 9 cases- 7 were local transmission.
Today we had 7 cases - only 1 local transmission case.
Only 1 local case for 34 million population.
Around 34k testing are done every day for COVID-19(RTPCR and highly sensitive and specific test kits) .
Our Health DG, Dr Noor Hisham, has said that we are not going to wait for vaccine to break the COVID-19 transmission, he is planning to wipe out COVID-19 in the country totally by end of August 2020 (second in the world after New Zealand.).
