I thought Project Luminous would be about what happens when someone becomes one with The Force - "luminous beings are we, not this crude matter." People have come back as Force ghosts, but what happens between the time they died and the time(s) they've returned?

Agree. Maybe it has to do with the netherworld. Star wars afterlife? Something force related definetely. Or perhaps it's related to force ghosts.
When I try to understand Star Wars as a franchise, with all that longevity, the easiest parallel to draw is to a soap opera. There are probably some narrative elements that span the entire run of the show, but they are constantly bringing in younger characters with new story lines to keep people interested.

I think project luminous will be about some form of technology that can tap into/harness the force without needing a force sensitive/trained being. Possibly someone digging up old Rakatan technology? Or maybe the ability to make someone force sensitive?

One, it has been debunked by The Last Jedi and two, she doesn't need to be a clone or the result of some genetic experiment on the Force to justify her ability, her background and the mentality she developed from it amply justify it. Since we have an idea as to what arches will be in CW S7, what lessons do you think we'll see at the beginning of some of the episodes?
I use my dad as a reference point on movies. He is very much an example of the general audience. He grew up with the OT and took me to see the PT and now we both go an watch the new movies when they come out. I've asked him before what he thinks of a Star Wars movie outside of the 60 years covered by the current movies and he's like "sounds good, kinda wanna know about the Mandalorian Wars, those seem neat".
So I think that star wars is gonna stop being a billion dollar franchise for a couple of years but once more of the GA like my dad get into the new concepts the more star wars will get back to being a billion dollar franchise. I actually think that's kinda what The Mandalorian is doing, prepping audiences for a proper non Skywalker story.

I reckon the recent stuff by Greg Pak in the Star Wars comic, concerning the rock people on K43 is related to it.
The way Vader compares them to droids and the way 3PO introspects on the nature of his "life"
The obvious reference to Yoda's "luminous beings" line in the name of the Project.
The many stories concerning droid rights that we have received over the past few years (Fyzen gor, the droid Gotra, etc)
I think we will start to see droids (or droid-like beings), that technically aren't alive, wielding the Force.
Hence the "until". What this would mean for midi-chlorians (which I am actually a fan of), I don't know.
Perhaps it relates to TROS, maybe Palpatine has survived as some form of semi-robotic abomination but has still retained his sensitivity to the Force. That's reaching a bit.
The whole theory is a bit wild, I know. But it's the best theory I can come up with.

Luminous refers to light. In Legends Birth of the Jedi, the Jedaii used both light and dark sides of the force and the ideal was to stay in balance. At some point, when the Jedaii became Jedi, they excluded the dark side and become unbalanced...
Maybe Project Luminous is about our understanding of the Force chancing. "The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It’s an energy field created by all living things" is how we understand the Force. It's how Obi-Wan introduced it in the original movie. Maybe Luminous will expand our knowledge of the Force, and/or show it from different perspectives. I'm thinking this is a series of deep dives into the nature of the Force.

One of the many reasons why Stranger Things is so meaningful is seeing the kids living in the real world, a world without the internet. They play role playing games, go to the arcade, use walkie talkies because smartphones don’t exist yet. You can’t text your friends or look up Plank’s Law. So yeah, limiting internet use is definitely good for one’s well-being as you guys mention.

No, Palpatine's conscious focus, self determination and discipline coupled by childhood trauma allowed him to be powerfully evil, just like real people in the real world.
Wherever you focus and how disciplined you are shape the world around you. If you have fear and hate, use it, if you have love and compassion, use it. If you have both, you're gifted if you learn to control your emotions and motivations.
Peaceful knowledge leads to enlightenment whereas knowledge gained while angry, used correctly, can be used to gain immense power and control over others. Learning to use both will lead to a very successful life.

Q&A: why do only some clone troopers customise their armour? Obviously the BTS reason is to distinguish characters for the audience’s sake but what about in universe? Could it be some kind of award for a trooper to design their own markings instead of just using the standard for each legion?

I hope it's about the origin of the Jedi with the prime Jedi on Ahch-To and the formation of the Sith with the rogue Jedi on Korriban. We see them discover Midichlorians and create the lightsaber ect.

I believe Project Luminous will explore the nature of the Force in regards to the Whills, the World Between Worlds, the Celestials , the Force Priestesses, the Mortis Gods and Balance with the Ashla, Bogan and Bendu.

Re: Star Wars content for everyone. Despite some issues I have with the ST, I'm glad that Disney is putting out Star Wars content for younger ages. I have an almost-3-year-old, and I recently introduced him to Star Wars outside of a book or toy for the first time. He was under the weather, so we watched the shorts on CZcams. He LOVES the Roll Out videos and also likes Forces of Destiny. It's fun that we can share something I love so much at an age-appropriate level, since ANH will have to wait a few more years.
I think the new Vader series will show how he learned that he had a daughter, as he wasn't aware of it by Empire, but became aware of it by the events of RotJ. The description for the comic mentions he's going after the people who hid the existence of his son from him, so I think it'll show him finding out he has a daughter.

To me it sounds like the way the force is given to someone will change.
Could be some scientific way or ancient artefact that gives the force to people or things that don't have it. If this was on earth and something was called project luminous it would be written on a file and most likely done by scientists or governments or something.
Project Luminous is going to be the certain point of view of Empire. The project name is something from the movie, it has a number of authors, the fact that it was revealed this way even. This “until” thing is just throwing everyone off.

She could repersent the neutral side of the force. She rounds up as many force sensitives as she can against TFO. That's my pipe dream.
The Bleaker I love Maz Kanata. I really hope that she has a good role in episode IX (I didn’t appreciate how her character was portrayed in TLJ). She was awesome in TFA, though. Thanks for mentioning her.
A comment on the Target Vader series. I don't think the series is about Vader, the story is trying to bring a legends character who started off very different back to his legends status. It's about the bounty Hunter guy! He's gonna be something like Aphra I think in the new canon. I think it would be cool to have two scoundrel side stories

There is already something weird happening with the Force that we just don't understand yet. Episode 7 was "The Force Awakens" and this is referring to **something** - an awakening of some kind. It's probably something that was brought about by the balancing of the Force that Anakin did when he fulfilled the prophesy by killing the Emperor in Ep 6. And/or, it could have something to do with what Qui Gon discovered and Yoda and Obi-Wan learned - how to keep your identity when you pass on to the Force. Either the balancing or the discovery of living past death allowed this Awakening to happen. And that awakening has something to do with Rey, why she is powerful, etc.

With the specific quote saying that the force is created by all living beings "Until Project Luminous" my mind instantly went to the Yuuzhan Vong... I'm not saying it's definitely the case of course, it's just what I instantly thought of.
Why wasn't Luke's training started sooner? 2 words..Owen Lars. Remember back to A New Hope, when Luke mentions Old Ben, and the look Owen gives him when that name is mentioned (not to mention his order to "stay away from that old wizard")...I think Owen dosn't trust Obi Wan because he's a Jedi, and by that point the Jedi have been turned into a nearly evil force by the Empire's propaganda. We could see more about that aspect too....
My reading of the project Luminous tagline is that there will now be a form of life that isn't in touch with the force, which makes me think it's one of a few possibilities:
1. Something involving the Ysalamiri, which seems unlikely to me
2. Perhaps the Yuuzhan Vong are being brought in, since you can't feel them through the force, they could be the 'until..." part
3. Perhaps it refers to something about Droids. They could be considered alive, especially if they started to enhance their own capabilities and perhaps this is finally the droid Gotra story they've been kind of hinting at for a while
George didn't like the Vong or Ysalamari, as it's impossible for any living thing to be without the Force. It really doesn't make sense with the lore. So I doubt they would be brought back.

Examples: Obi-Wan dies instead of Qui-Gon, the Order 66 plot is discovered before Palpatine can activate it, Finn and Rose actually reach the master code breaker on Canto Bight, etc.

In general, do you think popular Legends continuity characters such as Mara Jade and Revan should be brought into canon or are some characters better left in the old continuity?
For the Switch capture I just use a hdmi splitter and one hdmi to my capture card and one to the tv. I also have my Switch plugged into the hdmi input into my Xbox One so I can use headphones and have the sound off on the tv. I will say I dont think Jedi Outcast is worth playing on the Switch for someone who has played it anywhere else, the controls seem off.

I personally like the books version better for many events but I think the show is an extremely faithful adaptation, on par with the first few seasons of GoT.

I mean I find it a bit coincidental that he and the rest of his family happened to be off Hosnian Prime when Starkiller attacked, also he knows about D’Qar and the destruction of the Resistance base, and that the First Order has sent Bounty Hunters after the colossus all seems a bit too convenient. 🤔

Just a simple comment. If the new trilogies have Rogue One level box office results they'll be happy. It's not episodic level box office money but they'll be pleased. And also, if they are connected, there's a chance that the first one makes less money but they'll make more when the second comes up. It's logic
