    Yup as others have said, those are cypress trees. In Spanish, they are known as sabinal which is the name of the river where they found the “secret” swimming hole that’s about 2 miles from my home. And yes it’s very shaded and beautiful in warm weather. The museum is open March through October and then only Friday through Sunday. But it’s definitely worth the stop especially if one is a British bike fan. I’m lucky to be able to ride out here and if anyone visits, be aware of the wildlife on the road.

    Remember do not compress your shock when you put straps on the the bike. You want the bike to use the shocks on its own.

    I live in San Antonio and own many Butler Motorcycle Maps. I’ve been down that same road that stopped at the gate. It’s a game ranch. There’s many of them out there. Ride safe and have fun. Watch out for deer they’re suicidal. They love walking right out in front of you.

    Fun fact. I have been all over that area since i was a kid as my Uncle owned land & is from Medina. The road, 337, use to not go all the way thru from Medina to Vanderpool. We could here them dynamiting the road during the day and we would all load up and go see it in the evenings. Great memories. Now i ride motorcycles thru the same area i was all over in a pickup with my Uncle. Showing my age i guess!! Lol. The tree i bet you were looking for is the third largest oak tree in Texas. Kinda hard to find and on private property but can see it from 1120. It is HUGE!!! Group of us guys going to Big Bend, again, in April and will be traveling thru Hill Country. Can't wait!!!! Safe Travels

    Great video. We rode the Twisted Sisters back in 2013. Such a vast area of open range ranches. We only had a day to ride but what we did we enjoyed it. We have the Butler Map as well. Love those maps. The fork leak , makes me wonder about how we are tying our bikes down. The comments have been very informative. We have only trailered the bikes once since we bought our cargo trailer. We will be taking more caution in how we are tying down the bikes. Hope the leak will be an easy fix. Ride safe.

    Consider adding a day riding in the Davis Mountains down in the Big Bend Region. Spectacular riding... (especially if you're a Midwesterner who makes it out there in February). Historic Fort Davis is a good spot too. Imagine yourself stationed (sentenced?) to duty there pre airconditioning. Great lunch spot at the local "Drug Store" in the town of Fort Davis, too. Very Old School kind of place. Ft. Davis State Park a good stop too. Great facilities.

    I appreciate this video because it reminds me of how interesting the hill country roads are. I live in San Antonio and have ridden those roads many times and at times take these roads for granted. If you had stayed on the lower Sabinal road you would have come out near Utopia. Not all of it is unpaved. Some of the public roads do have gates and go through private but the road is public. If I’m not familiar with the area I am hesitant to go past the gate.

    When I was there in the fall…I did the same…seemed liked the Green Street signs were public but the red street signs ended up as private….I think they linked all the ranch to their backside for trailers and constructions…haha - I had one owner show up on an ATV asking what i was doing there..ha!!!….Great video…thanks for doing what you do!!!

    You should put a block under the bikes so you dont compress the front suspension so much that could blow out the seals if that's the problem plus it stops the bike from bouncing so much. It's just a thought. It's what I do whenever I'm trailering my bikes. Another great video be safe.

    • @richardmourdock2719

      Bingo... Always best to block underneath rather than ratchet a bike down on the shocks.

      Just don't put your straps so high. Works just as good if not better to strap the lower part of the shock tube. That's how I do all of mine. U can get the straps tighter without any pressure on the shocks themselves.

    • @paulrobles571
      @paulrobles571 Před 2 lety

      @@andymccorkle9469 You can do that too I ust like to put a block under there and pull down to the block I get the block as tight as I can or as close as I can to the frame this way it doesn't pull down a lot but when it pulls down on the block it's nice and solid don't bounce with the truck

    Garner State Park, in the Texas Hill Country, is the most popular state park in Texas for overnight camping. It often fills by noon in peak parts of the season. The park is popular with campers and local residents for its activities on the Frio River and the dances held nightly during the spring and summer. Garner State Park in Concan is the most visited park in Texas, according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. From September 2020 to May 2021, more than 317,000 people visited the park. Palo Duro Canyon is the second most visited, with a respectable 306,000 in that same timeframe.

    On your list of states that can fit in TX you said Maine to which I was really surprised. Actually, Maine is NOT on your list. (I think you meant Mass.) I'm a Maineiac and I know that several CTs and MAs can fit inside the state of Maine. No matter. I get the point. TX is big! BTW, I'm a relatively new 2 wheeler and I've been watching a number of videos lately about wheeling in the great state of Texas. One of the things I really envy is the apparent large variety of destinations within a reasonable distance for people to experience by means of rural roads. Maine has its share especially along the coast and in southern Maine. The challenge is that that's where all the people/tourists are, and unencumbered travel can be a challenge. I hope someday to be able to do some touring in Texas. Safe travels ... Oh, liked and subscribed! :)
