In this video Josh will take you through the techniques used to work back flat cuts left by reducing the top of developing material that is getting ready to begin bonsai work. Invest in a Dremel, cutoff discs, random bits, and Kutzall Rotary Burr. Way faster, cleaner, and healthier for the Bonsai. Later Mate!
I gotta say. Where do you get your juniper stock. I've never seen any like that at any nursery.
Very informative. Thanks for posting this
Dude, you’re the best. Thank you for taking the time to make this video.
Excellent video, cheers
Great video Josh Love watching you work
Thank you for such an informative video!
👍👌🙂
You should learn to not speak thru your nose.
Do you tell people in wheel chairs they should learn to walk with their legs? Having medical issues can sometimes make seemingly normal things difficult for others. But you enjoy your fully formed mouth and palette and your skills to not have air and speech pass through your nose.
Excellent!! Excellent video today Josh!!! Awesome tutorial on branch growth and development! The best explanation and visual context I have ever seen yet, and I have been watching a ton of you tube on bonsai! Thank you so much!! And I love your Munsters tattoos!! One of my favorite shows when I was kid.
Love your videos, please consider working on the lighting. 😎
I want to personally thank you so much for this informative video. I was worried about my juniper turning brown on the inside but all the outer foliages are green. This saved my "Emi-sama" from being disowned.
Seen many videos on JBP and this is by farrr is the best1 💯🙌🏻
Great tip
Why not try it as a twin trunk? The trunks could mirror and balance each other. 😊
The growth on 1 trunk would need to be much lower then the other to make that kind of design work. You could potentially slowly push the growth on 1 side back over the years if this is something you really wanted to achieve. You could also do a Cascade with 1 trunk being the tail and use the other as an apex or even do one of those really far out twisty south-east Asia designs. There's a lot of options in there as long as you can identify them. How ever these trees were just a good example of you don't always need to use absolutely everything that's on the tree.
@@BonsaiEn great stuff and great insights as always!!
I have a tree similar to this one. My plan is to airlayer it, and twist them up early. Get 5 trees out of one…Happy days 😊
me gusta la miniatura y la escenografia e iluminacion del video sigue asi :)
Wow! Big difference.. just beautiful
This was very helpful, thanks so much
Helpful. I am new to bonsai and working primarily with wild grown materials. They can be quite different. Not trying to force all the bits into a composition makes sense.
If this isn't a hit I don't know what is!
Thank you for the content.
👍👌🙂
I wish I had heard this message earlier in my bonsai journey. I kind of learned it along the way. great video topic! this is why I sub to bonsai-en.
You ssid you are no artist 4.54 sure we are all bonsai artist isnt it 🤣🤣🤣
Yes, just wish I could create one.
Why use black background?
What an excellent video. I've never seen the topic of trunk chopping covered in such detail. I know it will help me in years to come. Thank you Josh.
Brilliant way of describing your long term plan , it makes perfect sense , thanks
Thanks for the video. Really liked your discussion about moss.
Great video es obviously
Excellent demonstration!!!
I have learned so much from watching your videos! I love how Josh doesn't try to do too many things to a tree in one video, but takes the time to make sure the viewers thoroughly understand the skills and concepts. We hear not just how to do things, but why we're doing them and how it sets up for the future. Thank you.
Keep up the great videos, friend!
Nice one
I hope you'll do an update to show the results next year!
That's if I still have the tree, it was purchased as stock to sell in the nursery and to make that particular video. But once I get it potted up it might strike me as a tree to keep here for another few years and develop it into a specimen tree then sell it after that.
Great timing, I’ve got something similar to do soon so this is very useful. Thanks
Josh is back guys
Your tutorial answered a lot of questions I had, very, very helpful, thank you! 🙂
👍👌
That's an excellent tutorial on using wound sealant. I don't think I've seen a simpler explanation 👍
Very informative, Thanks!
Your videos are amazing, thanks for sharing knowledge!
Brings a whole new meaning to sacrificial branch. 😂😂 Thanks for doing all of this to a dying branch just to teach us what to do. I appreciate your time & energy for this. Thank you!
Do you have any advice on wiring still green growth on junipers? I’m noticing if I’m wiring a young tree that doesn’t have much woody branching yet, I have no choice but to trap the green scaly “foliage” on the main branch, and twice now it’s killed the whole branch.
Awesome information. This is very important.. thank you Sir.
Awesome!
Anotherexcellent demonstration video!! Very well presented and easy to understand. Thank you! Watching you work I hear the Munster's theme music in the background of my mind. LOL That was my favorite show when I was a kid. Love your tatoos!
This was by far, the best video on development I have seen!! Very well organized and presented! Thank you very much!! Very easy to understand and has saved my brand new Chinese Elm from a possible mis-step in growing mediums. I was about to pot up this very thin little sapling into a 1 gal pot with bonsai mix!! I know better now and it all makes sense. Thank you!!
can i ask what time of year is best for repotting from development pots to bonsai pots , im in uk so , what season , is what i mean by that , is there also any special rule about root pruning and bare rooting before potting , and thanks for another great video
