whats kerrys record?
Lots of newbies here thinking that's poor technique. Well, I know that when you're new they teach you to pivot always, especially in muay thai but I've seen every good fighter pretty much do it like this, even that Hooft guy does it exactly like this 🤷♂️ Although I do think he's kicking with the wrong part of the leg, also I'm not a fan of this fast low kick, It ends with a broken tibia
Makes me question how powerful the kick is if he's not knocking the girl off balance.
It’s a training session bro. Not a real fight. He is just going over the combos.
@@AyeItsProphet I know it's not a real fight 🤦♂ It does sound like he is kicking the bag pretty hard. I was questioning the effectiveness of the technique itself if a big man can hit as hard as he can with that kick and not knock a thin girl off balance.
This is more a thai kick, this guy's wing motion is shit too so I'd say he's likely only training atm or needs better coaches.
Groetjes shane
So that's why I get injured sometimes. I kick with the muscle of my shin and I cant kick for a month.
Dutch kick is more like karate kick than thai kick ?
Maybe dutch style also has the kyokushin karate kicks
Its just thrown from a different range, The Dutch style kick is thrown from more inside the pocket and punching range hence speed is prioritized, the thai kick has a bit of a longer range, both are are excellent tools for different reasons
@@alexisvaldezluna3388 exacly. Thai low kick is better as a finisher of combo in duch style u can put it in the middle of the combo. Both great and efective
Yes
Ramon Dekkers, Ernesto Hoost, Peter Aerts teach almost the opposite of this. More rotation wider kicks. Good to have more tools in the tool box. Thank you for this video.
Even tho they were dutch style they adopted the thai style of low kick which has that heavy rotation of the hips. Not as fast but alot more powerful.
@@jacobmoore6874 thank you for your response. I always read contradicting information, some stating the Dutch style low kick is more up then down (Alastair overeem) says that in his seminar. I’ve seen it done this way. Also the flail method
@@nono559 Im still learning how the dutch low kick works because it comes up with no hip rotation which is the opposite of what im used to so I feel u on that😅
@@jacobmoore6874 check out Rob Kaman, old skool Dutch kickboxer, terrifying lowkicks 👍
Ernesto kicks exactly like this, step into the kick and swing the hip up and down as opposed to around
Highlights the importance of having a good quality glove that allows you to make a good fist .
thanks for the info
is it ok to kick with the upper part of the shin? in other videos they say the lower part to avoid breaking
Henry said exactly the opposite of Jhanex Alviz of which part of the bone hits....Henry said the upper part and Alviz sais the lower part...wich one is it?
most likely will depend on the distance
I'd say the lower part but I've seen Justin Gaethe kick with the upper part when he's close or even when he's in the clinch.
Mejiro style 👍🥊
step outside when uppercut never heard about this, nobody train me like this so its good to know thank you
the muay thai stance not correct they focus in hiding the stomach by putting your abs inside and hands position down but open not like this but i don't know anything about dutch kickboxing
good drill, step front strike, step back strike, with pivot and good knees straight to face, knee with both hand covers or protected, thank you
good with hand align straight to hit correct
good, easy and sample
small step, thank you
Nice!
I like it.
Thank you
There's something to be said for everything. Here's Kyschenko talking along the same type of lines czcams.com/video/0CfRa4Eiwog/video.html
Im so down to study these!
Thanks!
Tell that to Ramon Dekkers. don't rotate your body extensively
Hi coach, believe it or not, this is the only video I was able to find on the whole youtube about the dutch kickboxing stance! Question: what's the correct foot positioning? It's not very clear from the video, however it looks like front foot pointing straight forward and back foot at 90 degrees, is it correct? Moreover, is the back foot flat or you should keep the heel up?
Rob kaman the best low kick
This is excellent striking technical instruction! I was wondering about the follow through procedure. Does the hooking arm extend a little bit after contact or does it contract, or does it remain at a fixed positional 90 degree right angle?
This looks like a vertical upward or diagonally upward hook punch.
There's always one...
Congratulations on the title :)
No sauce, straight to the point!
These guys are going against the teachings of Bruce Lee and Jack Dempsey. Teri Tom explains in her book about Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do named The Straight Lead says you should hit with a vertical fist or diagonal fist using the bottom three knuckles as the contact area upon impact with the intended target area. The index finger large knuckle is not intended to make structural contact with the target area.
You can hit with the bottom knuckles, but you need to condition them separately because they are the smaller ones that are more vulnerable to breaking
@@kevinfok4124 Thanks! I try to place most of the pressure on the middle and ring knuckles.
Thanks for noticing that, interesting book ..,,
Both legends yet also outdated.
Are there knees in Dutch kickboxing?
yep
@@rankalucard3960 are there elbow in dutch kickboxing? Which style of kicking you think is more effective dutch kickboxing, or muay thai
Silvafox yep. The only difference is the way of kicking. Not sure which one is superior to the other.
@@prvtthd401 The boxing can be very... handy? I see what you did there. 😉
@@rankalucard3960 depends on how you are comfortable with your kicking style, so its up to your preference(from my experience)
Shovel hook is boxing. Half upper cut, half hook
Very good video!
the Same punch Anthony rumble Ko teixeira
Great video Henery but i also noticed that the elbows were somewhat wide open..shouldnt they be more tucked in?..can you give is more details about where elbows should be?..Thank You!!
thanks coach
It's a hookercut, Roy Jones Jr often used this 45 degree angled shot.
Shovel hook
@@willcardenas1579 to be fair Hookercut sounds way better
this punch was used by jack dempsey early 1900s its called the shovel hook.
Why are the elbows out so much?
I think it's to guard against high kicks, although your point alarmed me too because it opens up your body to strikes, but every stance has it's pros and cons.
Stance reminds me of alistair
In kickboxing definitely, although in MMA he holds his hands really low, both for the takedown defence but also because he gets cocky at times piecing up his inferior skilled (in striking) MMA opponent and that's one of the reasons why he's been knocked out so many times in that sport by guys he should have no problems with kickboxing.
He's a Dutch style kickboxer that's why bro
Nice to see Coach Hooft on CZcams. Definitely one of the best out there. Making a fist is important, also not tightening up your biceps or triceps as you punch. I had really weak wrists genetically and the constant bag work would sprain my hands multiple times every week. Did a lot of forearm strengthening and compound arm strengthening and it fixed that. Also gloves can be tough to make a fist out of, especially new ones, so the hand "crushing" strength definitely comes in handy.
Late response but what exercises did you use to strengthen your forearm and compound arm? Thanks!
where is Tyron "The Frozen One" Woodley
You are accurate

That is not poor technique. Ernesto Hoost does his low kick exactly like that and he has one of the best low kicks EVER!
Well it's not the greatest, look at his lead foot. That's how you will injury you knee.
I'm watching his lead foot and I was taught to pivot off the ball of the foot. He looks like he's planted it. And although it's different from the way I learned it, we all know he has a highlight reel of it working against some great fighters. Muhammad Ali and Roy Jones Jr also had bad technique. They also made it work for them. Amd they were some of the greatest at what they did.
@@King-pv8fk his foot is pivoting, hes just not on his toes.. hes digging that foot into the ground on a angle witch gives the kick power. When you kick to the head thats when you’re on the toes and turning the foot. ( how i was taught )
@@Eddy-we2nq barely pivots, that's how you put a lot of stress on your knee
@@King-pv8fk Yes if the heel doesn't turn over at all. Many high level fighters throw their lowkick like this
