Risk Management in The Clinical Laboratory 1
The new standard ISO 15189: 2022, for medical laboratories, has placed an increased emphasis on 'risk management'. This presentation has sought to provide with examples how 'risk management can be carried out in clinical laboratories. Examples have been drawn from commonly occurring errors in the pre-examination phase, the examination phase and the post-examination phase. Calculation of risk priority number and risk mitigation strategies to mitigate these risk have been explained.
