Hi Derrick! Glad you liked it. I think I figured out why I didn't get the lightning on camera as a still. I used to long exposure and the clouds were moving fast. So the moving clouds simply erased the lightning.

@@ThomasRaskPhoto Yes, it was incredible and completely unexpected! I just went outside with Sophie so she could pee. I always look up at night, I love the night sky and was amazed at what I saw. Rushed back inside and mounted the camera. I was out there for a couple of hours. My neck got sore from looking up so long Lol

Maybe I should get a dog. :) Never get a chance to photograph northern lights. :)

Hi Mike! Thank you! I hope you get colder weather soon. I get nervous when it's hot outside. Can't really hide from it. When it's cold you can atleast regulate the cold with different clothes. Are you enjoying your Z9? Ofc you are. Hehe. Been on any photo trips? :)

@@ThomasRaskPhoto I agree completely. It's much easier to stay warm when it's cold than to cool off when it's hot. Clothes don't really matter much then. We could all walk around naked and we'd still be too hot lol Loving the Z9! I'm still in the process of getting it all set up the way I want, there's so much to configure. I'm busy learning all the AF options. Hudson Henry's YT videos have really helped in that regard. It's a crazy good camera. Now I need a larger ball head or maybe a fluid head as my FLM 38f can't quite handle the weight with larger lenses. It never ends! lol

Hi Derrick! Thank you very much. The 24-70 f2.8 is really really great. Never been disappointed with it's performance. If I would buy a new lens it would be the 24-120. For a all in one lens for long hikes. :)

Hi there! No I have not upgraded any firmware. Not really using that camera anymore. You could get a very good price on a used Z7. Very nice camera.

Oh my bad. Not as hot as Texas then. :) I watch a lot of CZcamsrs from England. They allways visit very beautiful locations. :)

@@ThomasRaskPhoto very flat around here, but some lovely coastline, the highlands of Scotland are beautiful well worth a visit.

@@ThomasRaskPhoto You're welcome Thomas :) I went looking for White Pelicans to shoot that day. They are beautiful birds, and slow, easy to photograph. Didn't see one pelican but found a bunch of swallows instead. Wow they are FAST!!!!! Having never shot anything like that before I really struggle to keep up with them. And yes, I had my Zf mounted on the 500 pf. No way my Z7 ii could have tracked those birds at all. The Zf did well, I just need a lot more practice with birds that fast. LOTS of practice!! Lol

You did very good with the swallows! Looking forward to the pelican shots. :)

@@ThomasRaskPhoto Thank Thomas, that is kind of you to say :) I look forward to the pelicans, if only I can find them! They hang out in several different spots along the lake and a few of the rivers close to home but I'm always at the wrong spot at the wrong time! lol
