I disagree with the idea of delaying first party Xbox games to PlayStation. No one cares about it except for fanboys and fanboy centric CZcams channels. Sea of thieves and grounded hit the top of the charts and they’re old games, just drop everything the same day. It changes nothing for an Xbox user.

It isn’t just the initial cost of the port. They still have to support the game with patches and updates once it hits another platform.

I can't be the only one but I definitely travel with my series X. Its not that heavy and travels well. Also the only people that care that games can be played more places are the childish fanboys who don't matter. They are the minority. Options are a good thing for consumers. Play what you want, where you want and leave everyone else alone.

6:12 I laughed way too hard at this take. So I found out in GroupMe massive recent overhaul, it's one on one calling is powered by teams. I really don't know why Microsoft just doesn't merge Skype, Teams, and GroupMe into one full featured all in one communication application. You don't have to get rid of the separate branding but something as simple as having the accounts talk to each other. On Xbox, Game Pass is probably one of my least reasons. Current best for me is Xbox Playanywhere. Being able to buy once on Xbox and play on PC with cross progression. I mean hey it's allowed windows gaming handhelds like Legion Go to feel like a portable Xbox already. Also shout out to free cloud saves and Xbox backwards compatiblity (make me happy with an ABK back compact drop BTW).

The graphic still shows the old Series X along side the new ones, so I wouldn't make that claim just yet.

I think Xbox can just do the attachment drive the way Sony does it, which is cheaper and better. As for which route, ARM for sure. AMD doesn't need to do the ARM stuff, Xbox can with an AMD Custom GPU that's integrated with a special A.I chip. Owning the design could also help them long term with costs, basically pulling an Apple with this.

I am not a game developer,so like you, I don’t know what it takes to port an Xbox game to PlayStation. What I do know is it doesn’t seem to be a trivial matter, since several developers have stated that they need to work on the PC and PS version, before working on the Xbox version. PC is much closer to Xbox, but somehow they can’t be bother to delay it…if it was just easy money, why pass it up…especially if PS isn’t compensating them.

So you saying if I pay money for xbox hardware, I have to pay more for the subscription and get less benefits than PC so that I can pay off the xbox hardware that they sold at a loss? As someone who bought their xbox hardware on the used market, that price difference makes no sense.

Um so if PS5 is a marked bump in graphics and performance I may switch over playing there full time. We're not comparing xbox to xbox we're comparing xbox to thier competitors sony and Nintendo.

Question: Why is it a negative thing if moving forward people are going to questioning whenever or not a XBoX game is going to other platforms? Thats actually a good thing. Did you realize people simply cant stop taking about XBoX these days, especially on PS centric channels? It is actually PS who cornered theirselves to a corner, locked to a plastic box and only now, in 2024, making movements to reach new audiences while XBoX is already taken the entire room.. Consoles are a niche market, its no longer the driving force in gaming anymore. People at XBoX noticed this years ago and have been working for years to make XBoX something bigger than a console, working on partnerships (NVidia, Samsung, Steam, etc..) and distribution, owning some of the biggest publishers and IPs now... Just look at this showcase, the XBoX showcase might as well become the new E3. EVERYONE will be watching and every publisher wants to be there and/or Game Pass. Players dont wanna be locked to a the niche/restricted ecosystem behind a plastic box anymore, I gain absolutely nothing that way, I would rather play in a ecosystem thats literally everywhere.

Just like the saying goes, "It's the economy, stupid", the saying Xbox is still struggling with is "It's the games, stupid". While it is true most people buy consoles based on where their friends play, I know a lot of people, myself included, who are older and buy/bought a console based on the game(s) alone. I bought a PS5 slim last Christmas, for Gran Turismo 7, because MS fumbled the ball so badly with Forza Motorsport. I may be an outlier, but I know a lot of others who did the same. So, it's not just friends, but the games. More importantly, it's the quality of games Xbox is still lacking. All of the announcements at the Xbox Showcase looked promising, but until we play them, Xbox's mindshare for quality AAA games is still in doubt compared to Nintendo, and Sony.

Phil Spencer and Xbox have said all the way back in the Bethesda round table that games with a history on another platform will be considered on a case by case basis, that is what’s happening now, nothing new at all, and nobody should be surprised that the new Doom game is going to PlayStation. I would also expect that this is true for ES6. What do I loose as an Xbox first player, nothing. I will continue to buy future Xbox console as I enjoy their hardware and platform more than PlayStation.

The argument comes down to if Xbox is desperate for money and sales numbers then why are they still making any game exclusive? Why are they signing 3rd party timed exclusive deals? Give up on all your exclusives, sell them on PS make a boatload of cash up front amd realize your console is dead. My guess is the series consoles (S and X) are the last full sized consoles Xbox will do, they will continue to release all their IPs onto PS slowly to the point their is nothing on Xbox you cant play on PS while nothing major from PS will be on Xbox and ar that point they will release the handheld that has access to gamepass to try and entice those PS owners to buy a cheaper portable console.

As a “diehard” Xbox fan, I “should” be upset that Xbox exclusives are headed to PS, but I’m not. I think this is the future of the industry, no more console exclusives, and Microsoft is just ahead of the game.
