2:25 has got to be one of the most shocking moments in anime history. At least for me. Seriously after all these years I still cant believe they did that!
''But my teacher taught me never to go anywhere with strangers.'' Wait, did Trisha, you actual MOM, never teach you that? Maybe it's actually a good thing your attempt to resurrect her didn't work...
I still want a remake of this anime. I honestly loved this anime as much as Brotherhood, and would love to see an update where they redo the graphics to look more like Brotherhood and they update some of the errors that were in the original.
I know people say Brotherhood is better. And maybe they're right; I haven't actually watched it yet, so I wouldn't know. But this version holds a special place in my heart.
0:34 "maybe a taller version of you" is a line that just hits so different rewatching 03 cause like, both Ed and Envy strongly resemble Hohenheim, so its such a funny taunt cause like thats what Envy would ACTUALLY look like
The fact that fucking Envy was shocked when Dante turned Gluttony into a mindless eater is the proof that she is truly a b*tch and Envy in FMA!2003 was a prick.
It's strange that they simplified Kimblee's character from this cold, calculated sociopath realist, with a love of philosophical debate into just some soldier with little effect on the characters or the plot, yet they invented Frank Archer, who is essentially a proto-Kimblee.
I've always wondered who was gluttony based on? who created him, who was he when he was alive? Sloth was trisha elric, Lust was the lover of scar's brother, wrath was izumi's baby, Envy was hohenheim and dante's son, Greed was once dante's lover, Pride was created by dante (Although never revealed who he was and why dante created him) I think the author should do a spin off for 2003 Fma about the homunculi and their backstory aside from trisha and wrath that is.
Even though I don't like the decision they made with this character, people exaggerate too much hating this character, many complain that he can move in a matter of days, when it was not established in 2003 that there was a defined time to be able to control a automail and the damage it causes, that was brought up much later in the manga. Archer did not remove half of his body, it was a part of his body, he could survive if he had medical attention, but his days were numbering, it was thanks to Edward that he survived by protecting him. His recovery and his ability to have automail could also be explained by the philosopher's stone that the government had. If King Bradley himself, someone who has the Philosopher's Stone under Dante, was the one who said that they would make Archer take charge of the militia (They would turn him into a weapon) They even gave the stone to Kimblee and these stones were put in Edward's alchemist's watch, stop misinforming and watch the series again. It doesn't seem crazy to me, even if it's fair to say that if more clues had been given it would be more credible.
I'm glad I read your comment Claydogg. I don't know if i'd say hopelessness, more peeimist. Like, the series seemed to be ed and al really struggling to justify their struggle. In Brotherhood, they had their resolve figured out mid way through. In the 2003 anime tho, it ends with them being determined to find each other, no matter what, with optimism. Then the movie ends with them finding each other, but being lost in our world, yet deciding to make the best of it and do wha they can to make it a better place. Honestly, not hopeless what so ever.

Does this imply Hohenheim was able to stop the degradation of his own body by switching to an exact copy of his original one? Ed and Al’s half brother 😱

Imagine being a child and already being in your life’s work!
I don’t really like the story in the original 2003 show but I really enjoy these little moments. They make the show for me

Was she actually killed by Gluttony?
Yeah.
Not even a f***ing trace he didn’t bite or chewed he just completely swollen her whole
But she is so overpowerd, that makes no sense. She planed everything so far and did this mistake.@@niah_the_b34st86
They took my man and turned him into dollar store Megaton.
Poor Al who are you kidnapping 😂you
It's been a LONG time since i watched this, at least 12 years. I feel like i never really appreciated this fight as much as it deserves.
I don’t know if envy is a girl or a boy. I kind of love the version of envy because he or she is the main villain of this.
In this version he is a boy.
He used to be a boy, but when he became a humongculi he became female
The irony of Dante dying from Gluttony isn’t lost on me.
So I always chose to believe he ate her before she could do anything and left the elevator.
What a shame he was never imported to FMAB, he would've been an awesome obstacle...at least until Olivier.
They could of had him in a cameo or filler ep

FMA 03 had such an air of hopelessness which is what partially got me into the series.

Ed gets beat up the entire series with the exception of Greed and Sloth he doesn’t win many fights
Does anyone know where to watch it nowadays?
@@weirdghost3064 You might need to buy dvds or watch it somewhere online for free. It's hard to find these days.
It definitely has a darker tone than Brotherhood.
I wish Dante had more screentime, she is a cool antagonist.

I like to think Gluttony and Dante merged which explains his new form and the red stones he produced in the Movie.
