Best Weed Eater String: Ultimate Test 2024
My Ryobi 40V battery shows charge state on the battery, while charging.
Ok, I want an electric power washer- what’s the most powerful one to get on 110v outlet?? This??
Thanks for the best comparison video I've seen yet! I have been looking for a decent comparison on the Greenworks 80v, and your review has all but sealed my decision to buy!
You love to use the word "basically" a lot!
Basically
Should have run all mowers twice on the cut check i bet the other ones would have cleaned up their leftovers. Plus you were in mulch mode so heavy grass cant evacuate .
Just bought my ego power load with line iq! Can't wait to use this bad boy!
Let me know how you like it!
Yeah right. Best, mowers on the market Where was the stihl and why was Ryobi there?
Stihl wasn’t released yet.
Bro you do know kobalt makes a 40v right?? I can do a whole 1/2 acre and its really not hard to restring them...
Yes it isn’t as popular as their 24V. Greenworks is also their manufacturer so you can get a glimpse there
Holy shorts 2:13. Didn’t know about the flip pin or the angle adjuster.
Yep. Isn’t that crazy?
Great informative video. Is it possible to keep these maintained at a height of 5ft max or is it such a vigorous grower that I’d be better off with a different type of evergreen shrub? I’m looking for a somewhat informal looking hedge about 15ft in length. If they can easily be maintained at a height of 5ft, how many do you think I would need to cover a 15ft span? Three shrubs spaced 5ft on center? I like the overall look of how you trimmed them so they are lightly touching. Would that be something hard to maintain since they are so vigorous?
Yes these definitely can grow to that level. I would space each one about 4-5 ft apart and let them grow more together
I'd like a mower that mows high, like 4" or so, since we have a lawn with microclover in it now, & I want the clover to flower. Any ideas for a good mower among these that would work? Thanks!
Yes many of these electric mowers can crank up to 4.25-4.5 inches.
I got my Ego lawnmower as a gift after having a gas one for years and I love it. I can do my front and back lawn twice before I have to give it a charge. The battery is a tank and it sounds like a jet engine when it’s starting up but it charges fast. After getting it 3 of my neighbors right around me also purchased the same one hahaha also it’s quiet compared to a gas powered one.
Love to hear that! Many people with the same experience
Wait, why didnt you flip the battery on the Ryobi like you did with the Makita? Already seeing some bias in your video about Ryobi. If those 6ah 40v batteries were fully charged from the charger to the mower, you would get over 1hr 30mins of run time per battery. Meaning you will get 3hrs of run time with the Ryobi. Also, your ah batteries are all over the place. To have a fair competition for runtime and power under stress, every mower you tested should have had same ah batteries. To compare 2x 12ah Milwaukee run time to only 1x 6ah battery is literally a bullshit test comparison. Same thing with the EGO and greenworks. Fair test would be all batteries at the same ah.
I messed up on the Ryobi. I don’t agree on same Ah batteries. The test isn’t designed to be fair. If they all had the same exact specifications what would be the point? This just highlights the most popular mowers.
too long video for such a small topic
Thank you for your opinion
Turbo nozzles are designed to optimize and maximize the pressure you can get out of your pressure washer, all the while cleaning surfaces faster and better without exerting more effort. I'm surprised it came with it normally it's a extra accessory that you can purchase separately
It’s really nice. Thanks for watching
Put the turbo on the gas nozzle on the gas ..I guarantee it will clean better then both the others..that's why it's called a turbo nozzle it adds pressure
It can’t add pressure. The PSI is the PSI. It can narrow the opening but the gas one didn’t come with it.
I am a huge fan of buying the in ground sprinklers and putting them on spikes. So much versatility in nozzle choice and the coverage is excellent. Using the MP rotator nozzles has also reduced my water bill quite a bit
Nice! That’s a cool lawn hack
I’m really am impressed with the 765cfm model. Thanks for the comparison.
Thanks for watching!
What would be best for a side yard....either between my house and my neighbors or my house and the fence. I would say 6 to 7 feet wide (houses are close to each other) and goes down the length of the house.
I ended up buying an inground sprinkler head and putting it on a spike with a side strip head. Perfectly covers the area
If your side yard is a rectangular area (specifically), the oscillating sprinkler (2nd in the video) works best since you can change the width and length on them. Since you can water the shape of the area perfectly (again IF it’s rectangular), then water from the oscillating sprinkler will only hit the intended square footage. Aka better water distribution and less water waste= more money in your pocket lol
Oscillating sprinkler is probably the best, then narrowing the spray pattern
Mannnnnnnnnnnnnnn
Nice thorough video man. 10/10 would recommend the Orbit tripod sprinkler for big yards. It’s my go to for my 10k sf back yard. With decent pressure and good water flow using a 3/4” internal diameter hose (significantly more output than a 1/2” or 5/8”), that thing chucks it. Set up takes less than a minute and I now only have to change the location once to water the rest of the lawn. I only ever overseeded the back, and in my experience the more aggressive spraying never was an issue for the seeds while waiting for them to germinate. You’re right though, probably not the right one to use post bare ground seeding.
Thanks for watching and glad you’ve had a good experience. Should have included a tripod one here!
@@TheLawnReviewyou pretty much already covered it, they’re just impact sprinkler on stilts haha
I have a much smaller yard than you are referring to, but your information is very helpful in knowing what to do for my yard. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Very useful video thank you
Thanks for watching Steve
Line up the two load notches with the openings then install the line through the holes (7 feet of line on each side) and turn counterclockwise
That’s right
This is the one ☝️
Glad it was helpful!
nice video
Thanks Carlos
Mmmm. What if I tune it. High flow intake and exhaust 🤔. Can it make 15 FTQ
Hahh that sounds good to me
Suction should be a factor my ryobi does not have good suction
Yes that’s a great point
I always thought about this intrusive thought about mowing my neighbors tall ass grass and wondering about the chaos about how mad thry would be if i touched their grass without permission 😂🤣 its a unspeaken rule to not mow your neighbors grass😅😂
Lol!!! No one informed me about that rule! Whoopsie
Did I miss something? Did you go back to #3?
Passing the mower on to your neighbor just secured you a sub. Good on you my guy.
Thanks for watching the full video!!
@@TheLawnReview thanks for walking your mowers down the block 😅🤙🏻
I cannot get the string to come out the other side. What am I doing wrong?
Can you see through the hole?
@@TheLawnReview I got it. I was trying to go around the spool instead of straight through.
@sharonhill8469 great to hear!!
Battery power for really small jobs, but for actual yards 1/4 acre and larger with lots of trees, get a drop cord or go with gas, otherwise you'll spend more time charging up batteries than doing actual yard work.
I agree!
super informative video
Thanks for watching!
I have had the non-self propelled 80v version for 2 years and it works flawlessly. Cleanup is easy. Storing is even easier. Batteries switch automatically but sometimes I use the bigger battery alone just to exercise all of them. One of the extra batteries I bought came with a free inverter. That inverter enabled us to have a small TV and a lamp in the living room during a 36 hour power outage after a storm. I love Greenworks products.
Glad you like it! This one’s only Hangup is the adjustment to the self propelled
I got the 40v used online when I needed to fix my push mower. Left it outside all Canadian winter, sorry neighbours... Still works fine somehow. I still use it on big inclines because of how light it is and around places where I have debris around because it just stops the blade pretty quick as soon as it hits something so I know I wont loose a leg. But I keep forgeting that I have to press the button before pulling so I keep ending up on videos like this. But other than that, sweet little thing that is. Love how quiet it is too.
Even messed around with it with my home made portable solar station. Honestly had a lot more fun with this than I should've.
That’s awesome! Glad you’ve had fun with it!
.155 trimmer line is the best
Whoa that’s big stuff
As far as the battery run time, would the actual cut of the grass effect the run time?
Yes it would but we assume the grass would impact them all equally so the times would go down but the rankings stay the same
So you switched to a new set of batteries for the Makita but didn't do it for the Ryobi? Doesn't seem like a fair test 🤔
What do you mean?
I have that same Ryobi Mower. It can hold two 40v batteries, and it allows you to switch the key to use the other battery. I just noticed you didn't mention it, and with the Makita, you switched to the other set of batteries to keep going.
Really trying to convince myself why I would want to change my battery platform from Ryobi to Milwaukee, but you totally showed how the red rocket is superior to the Ryobi mediocre machine. Thanks, quite helpful.
Haha i like the nicknames
Thanks for the video. Great comparison tests!
Thanks, Bill !
Thanks, this review will help me choose a battery powered leaf blower.
Awesome! Glad I could help
A great real-use comparison and you definitely went above and beyond with this amazing set of tests. BRAVO! And kudos for giving your neighbor that mower at the end!
Thank you for watching the whole thing
I own the exact EGO used in this video. It is powerful, basically as powerful as my gas powered trimmer. The one thing that took a while to get used to is the automatic string feed - the unit senses when the string is short and automatically, without the user having to do anything, feeds new string. Its amazing at how well it works but takes a bit to adjust to because the string goes from short to suddenly full length, increasing it length 3 inches or so. Thus, depending on what you are using it for, such as edging, that sudden additional 3 inches of string will initially dig deep and kick up dirt until you adjust the distance. I've learned to anticipate it when the string gets to a certain length. Its a great feature because the string literally never gets tangled but it takes several uses for the operator to adjust to the autofeed. Its a great product and very powerful.
Hey man! Thanks for the comment. Honestly as I've continued to use these tools you're exactly right. It's totally cool when you're using it to reach hard to reach areas but can get you in trouble when using it as an edger. Great feedback!
Great video! Only minor inconsistency I noticed was that you used turbo mode to test Greenworks’ ability to cut through high foliage but didn’t use it during the battery endurance test. I suspect turbo mode would’ve drained the battery faster.
Thanks for the feedback I really appreciate it
Most people don't care about small differences of different brands. I got a Ryobi mower because I already have several 40V Ryobi batteries so it becomes a cheaper investment. No point in buying a "better" mower and then have to spend several hundreds to thousands on new batteries.
Yes that’s a great point actually.
On one hand you say it’s not scientific enough and then here you say nobody cares about small differences haha
Milwaukee has the option for rapid charging
Yeah I love their charging system
Makita to the white people, lol dead
i think husquarna figured out how important drive wheel placement is in robots :P you're always at an advantage when your wheels are pulling weight as opposed to pushing wieght.
Yes exactly!
