Hi Anna! I am an American living in Europe and have no access to shortening here. They use lard, suet and butter here so could I substitute one of these for the shortening? Which would be the best sub? Thanks for the help!

This probably sounds sacrilegious, but it's true: Just in general, I do not like chocolate chip cookies. It's the dough part, not the chips. I like them fine when they're made with a brownie-like cookie dough (such as can be found at Meijer), and I have also always enjoyed the ones from Pepperidge Farm and that I used to buy occasionally from Mrs. Fields stores in the malls. But otherwise, no thank you. I do, however, currently have a box of DOLLY PARTON - Duncan HInes banana cake mix that I plan to adapt into banana walnut chocolate chip cookies. I just haven't decided if I want to use mini semi-sweet chips, some kind of regular-size dark Ghirardelli chips, or part of my secret stash of Guittard onyx wafers. 🤔
Pepperidge Farm makes a loaf of Very Thin Sliced Bread. You can get white or whole wheat.
unfortunately it wasn't available at the grocery stores near me at the time I made this video.
I’m old enough to remember that my mom wrapped my sandwich in wax paper. What I hated was that she always put chopped ham luncheon meat on them🤮

Frito pie is like walking tacos. You use taco seasoned ground beef, cheese or cheese sauce, sour cream, lettuce, or whatever you like and put it inside a snack size bag of Fritos

Sorry to say that is not chili pie! Pick the large Fritos. Leave out beans. Make or warm up chili. Chop onions. Shred medium cheddar cheese. Layer in casserole dish add foil top and bake like 15 mins at 375. Bubbley. My Grandma used to make this when we visited. 1963-1970.

Ohhhh I'm so very going to make this! But I'm absolutely going to add a dash of almond extract and no one can stop me. May try it with a more fresh-ish (frozen grated maybe?) kind of coconut. I love coconut so much but the dried stuff.. not so much. Can't wait!
If the sandwich calls for butter first typically you would put it on a grill to toast it with the butter then put your sandwich spread on it then your roast beef

I’m Canadian, and it is still very very common to spread sandwiches with butter before condiments and meat. I’m always surprised when I see people make sandwiches without it(although mayo is a good substitute, if you like mayonnaise$.

Well OK I have now learned today that Dolly Parton has not amassed her fortune from only singing.
Nope! In addition to performing and being a partner in Dollywood, she has over 3000 song credits and owns the rights her entire song catalog. Dolly donates a lot of her wealth to causes that are important to her. Her father had to work as child in order to help support his family, so he didn't learn to read or write. This inspired her to launch Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in the early 90s. The program has continued to expand and grow and his given away millions of books (just checked - over 224 million books at this point) for free to children aged 0 to 5. Just one of several examples of her philanthropy.
