Are any of these on your list this year? Let me know in the comments!
I might have to look at the hand mixer for myself! I live in a small apartment and have no room for a stand mixer, but I love to bake and cook, and the hand mixer that I currently use is a vintage one from the 1980s (or maybe '70s) that I inherited from my grandmother's house! It still works well, but I am always feeling the outside of the unit as I'm whipping cream or whatever, to feel if the motor is getting overheated, so I can stop and unplug it real quick if I feel that it's necessary.
I just ordered the Perfect with Pie coffee with your link as their website said it's only being roasted through Thanksgiving. Glad I got in just under the wire! Can't wait to try it!
Why ask for comments?
You don't attempt to reply or answer questions.
Algorithms are one thing, a fan base that ( which you don't have much of) is the payday.
P.S. If you're going to have a "cooking" channel, at least be educated on the basics.
I recognize the cover of the Betty Crocker Cooking for Boys & Girls, my introduction to cooking aside from helping my mom was home ec in 6th grade and received that cookbook for Christmas that year.. I am definitely ordering the Ove Gloves and the solid spatulas for my daughter. I want to order some of those dish towels as well. I dropped a hint to my daughter that I would love that cold brew coffee maker of yours. I love Oxo myself their product line is quality.
buying tea towels, spatula and Ove glove for my daughter in law, self/hubby and my mom. this is so helpful, thanks! my hubby loves a good As Seen On TV item!
My mother-in-law just gave me her OG cookbook from her early married days. It's going on the shelf with Grandma's Betty Crocker green recipe card box. They're treasures!!
What a special gift! 🥰
@@cooking_the_books It was definitely unexpected but very appreciated!
How fortunate you are to have this
@@58sewgood I definitely feel grateful.
I got Betty Crocker's cookbook for Boys and Girls from my mom in 1964. Last year I gave it to my 10 year old granddaughter and she loves it!! 🙂
I received it at age 11, I loved it.
Yay!! A mid-week video!! I have wanted to ask you if you are ok with receiving books and pamphlets by mail? I have some wonderful ones but I can't keep them all. I"m moving and have to severely pare down. If you have a PO box and are ok with getting things in the mail, I would be so happy for you to have them. Great, fun video, Anna!!
That's really kind of you. I am a cookbook fanatic. I won't read a regular book, but give me a cookbook, and my nose is in that book for hours....lol
Oh that's so nice of you!! Yes, I am ok with receiving books via mail (but don't want people to feel like they have to send me things!). My PO Box is:
Anna Buchholz
34760 Center Ridge Rd.
PO Box 39708
North Ridgeville, OH 44039
I frequently halve - sometime quarter - recipes, as I live alone. I use a 4oz baby's bottle for measuring small quantities of liquids.
These are all practical gift ideas! The light on the mixer is a win for sure
Thank you, Anna! Your channel is such a comfort for me even though I grew up in England in the 90s. Your content is so calming and wholesome 😊
Hi Anna, I’m new to your channel and absolutely feel we are kindred spirits!! I thought I was the only one who loved vintage cookbooks (and magazines too). I’m have been binge watching your videos and love how you set up our videos with the cooking and then the talking about the book! I was born in late 1978 and turning 45 next month. My mother thinks I’m nuts and doesn’t want anything to do with the old recipes…maybe I’ll feel that way about today’s cookbooks in 30 years! Keep up the fantastic job and Happy Thanksgiving! ( I’m Canadian so had thanksgiving in October…crazy Canucks)
One thing I would love to see is a Q&A. What is your education background, is CZcams your full time job? Etc…😊
One thing I would love to see is a Q&A. I
Thank you so much for your kind comment! Old magazines are so much fun. The articles! The photographs and illustrations! I love old catalogs as well.
Great video, a week ago I bought my stepdad a reprint of the Cooky book after watching your previous videos (for his bday.) He’s a hobby baker and he was very impressed seeing the vintage recipes. I’m sure many will order from this video. ❤
That is awesome! So glad he’s having fun with the Cooky Book. 😁
The cookbooks I found were from library sales. It’s important to have stiff scrapers. Funny the things that get you excited about as an adult 😂
I have a coffee recommendation if you’re interested! We LOVE Fresh Roasted Coffee Co.’s (from Pennsylvania) Black Beard’s Revenge and COMA (from Missouri) Coffee’s Obsidian.
Always interested in a coffee recommendation! I will check them out. 😀
Great gift ideas.
Thank you for showing your hand mixer. It has great features, especially the light, speed display and timer.
I love Tazo lemon loaf tea because it's caffeine free and is great as a substitute for dessert, so yummy.
Just used your link to buy 2 tea towels for my daughter’s Christmas present! She loves all things mid century modern.
Thank you! I hope she loves them. ❤️
On the topic of spatulas, spurtles from mad hungry via QVC will change your life!
Such a well-done video! Thank you for all the great suggestions. Always love your work! ❤
Great video and my wish for Santa is for all those cookbooks I lost in my cross-country move to magically show up. But ... YOUR SANTA MUGS (on the shelf)... I have one of those!!! I can't remember if it was a present for my 5th birthday, which is weird because my birthday is in April or if my timeline is messed up. I don't know if it's just the lighting but mine is most like the one on the left!!! My mug sits safely inside my china hutch. It is a look and don't touch. I'm a klutz and if I was holding it and it dropped I would be heartbroken. Cookie press???? Wait!! You mean I am supposed to bake or do something with the dough after it's mixed up. I thought it was grab a spoon and dig in!!
Those are my favorite measuring cups too! You can see exactly how much liquid you're measuring and they are dishwasher safe because the printing is in between the layers of the cup material. Love your videos
Thank you, Anna! Mesmerized by the Geometry Kitchen Towels since I paint watercolor abstracts...so, ordered 2. The Breville Hand Mixer is a Christmas gift to myself because my 25-year-old Kitchen Aide needs to be retired. Plus, the dough hook on the Breville sold me completely. Great video! Wishing you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas!
I love kitchen gadgets and appliances, too!😉
Thank you for this! You are like the best friend I didn't know I needed! LOL Great content. Happy Thanksgiving!
To be honest, this sounded way less creepy in my head...😂
I have a hand mixer with coated beaters that I love because I can use it in nonstick pans without damaging the pans.
I have the tiny juicer and it's awesome because you almost always only need two tablespoons of lemon juice.
I love vintage cook books too!😊
A bouquet of spatulas 😊
Great ideas! You've sold me on the tea
I’ve been a cookbook collector for over 30 years and one of my favorites is The American Century Cookbook by Jean Anderson. So much great history.
I just love your videos! It’s good to know that young people are still loving cooking and baking! I have a cookies press that I got years ago from Pampered chef and I have never used it. Just looked too complicated lol. Maybe I will get it out and try it. Never too late right? N
YES! Give it a go!! I used the spritz cookie recipe from Betty Crocker's Cooky Book last year, and it was perfect.
I love that your hand mixer is quiet and starts on an actual slow like the older ones did. For some reason the the newer ones I have used start at a stupid high speed. I returned two different mixers when I found them not having a real low speed. Finally I just kept the third one our of need but I have to put it in the sink so when it starts it doesn't fling flour etc all over the kitchen. Amazon reviews hate this and yet engineers take no notice. Would definitely try yours if I was doing more mixing.
I've never heard of Geometry towels. Thank you. I just viewed the site and they're lovely and affordable. These are definitely on my radar now.
I"'m shocked.... SHOCKED..... that you didn't include your offset spatula, haha! :) Thanks so much for the video!! I'm in Canada and dying to find the Lemon Loaf Tea!
Love the light on the mixer
I have several and love "tiny" spatulas! I use them constantly!!
I LOVE a good spatula!
I can't live without 'em!
I ordered Geometry tea towels for all of the women in my family as a Mother's Day gift! I can't wait to hear the reviews! I hope you do more of these product/gift recommendation videos.
I hope they love them! I plan to do another 'gift guide' style video around Thanksgiving this year.
I bought my Mom the original 1956 Betty Crocker cookbook online. She had lost her copy in a move years before and always wished she could get it back.
I love spatulas
I have a different brand cold brew pot that I found at ShopRite about 5??? Years ago. I use it twice a week - once for decaf and once for caffeinated. I hand wash it all the time but I have pit the pieces in the top of the dishwasher.
I also have a stack of the small sheet pans. I have 2 sizes and I love them to organize recipes when I am meal prepping. I have gotten the larger ones at Costco (like u said) and the smaller ones I got at Walmart. I also have silicone liners for both sizes that I also got at Costco. They sell sets of them with different sizes at Christmas time as gifts. I have bought sets for gifts for co-workers in the bakery for their home-baking. So good. One of the smaller ones are for toaster oven pans.
Ha ha I JUST ordered the KittyTown Fezzik as a birthday gift for my best friend!
This was so fun and so useful! Thank you!
Thanks for the inspiration Anna. Great video!
Thank you! ❤
Thank you for this!! I was trying to figure out what to get my sister and her family and you mentioned Kitty Town Coffee, problem solved!! Thank you!
Love these ideas! I had to buy some for myself.
I just found the Core Bamboo & Silicon spatulas with hearts which I have been craving since I first spotted them on your channel. I just didn’t know who made them till now. Thank you so much! I found them on eBay. ❤❤❤
That’s great!! so glad you found them. 😁
This was wonderful so helpful for this time of the year! I’m very happy I’ve found your channel. Someday you’re going to be very famous and I’ll be able to say I’ve been following her since her you tube days😂
Thank you. I am also an OXO fan.
Anna! Thank you so much for the gift suggestions! My mom is super difficult to buy for but I know she will love the Geometry towels so I’m going to try one for her. Also, I love the silicone spatulas and I think you are the one that taught me how to use them for making scrambled eggs. I just never thought of that but I do it all the time now! I could go on…I really like all of your ideas! Some of them for myself. 😊 I may need to splurge on that hand mixer.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! 🍽
PS the Santa mugs on your bookshelf are super cute ❤ (I think they are mugs?)
So glad you found some of my gift suggestions helpful! I started using silicone spatulas to make scrambled eggs 10+ years ago. I don't even remember where I picked up the idea. 😀
I LOVED this video. Thanks!! ❤
I loved this video. Thank you.
Nice selection. I thought I was the only one with a spatula addiction. I was ashamed of my collection, but now I feel better about myself. Thank you. 😉
Two big 'ol thumbs up! Great job.
I have had the ove gloves for years and gifted them to others. They are great!
I have noticed that America's Test Kitchen also recommends quite a few OXO products so I will definitely check those out.
‘Ove Gloves are so good. I’ve had a pair for years. Found them in Marshalls originally. I just wish they were a bit thinner. I have 2 sizes of the OXO measuring cups. Got them a couple of years ago - I have the 2 cup and the 2 oz sizes, I also have OXO peelers and an apple corer. They are excellent. Never heard of those towels before.
I bought 5 Trader Joe’s Blends as a Christmas gift for my co-worker and I also got her a bag and a gift card along with a jar of the truffle Alfredo sauce and the black truffle seasoning. Trader Joe’s rocks. Problem with them is that they discontinue things here and there and they got rid of one of my favorite seasonings. Boo Hoo.
One year I bought all the guys in the family Ove Gloves, as we live in the south and do a lot of grilling. It was the sleeper hit of Christmas that year.
I love this! 😄 They are just so incredibly useful.
I was quite shocked and pleased how much they enjoyed them
I would say my spatulas probably get used the most in my kitchen. They probably foster my OCD while cooking and preparing food. 😂 sometimes when I’m watching cooking videos on CZcams I think why are you not using a spatula right now? 🤪
Can relate. 😂
Great video! Very helpful. 🙂
Excellent! Thank you so much!
You're very welcome!
I still have my OXO vegetable peeler that my mom bought me when I was like 15 or 16 in the mid 90s. I'm 44. Seriously! It works as beautifully as it did on the first day and I use it a lot. Like a LOT lot. I think we found them on sale at a kitchen store in the Kitsap Mall in Silverdale, WA. OXO products really are amazing!
Love this video. I’m going to buy the oxo measuring cups for myself. Where have these been all my life?
You did just fine. Happy Thanksgiving
Not only did you do “ok”, this was WONDERFUL! Once again, GREAT CONTENT. That hand mixer is crazy! One of my go-to hand mixers is a 1950’s Ekco chrome and Bakelite rotary hand mixer. Not electric! I too love Good Grips products. QUALITY is tantamount to the brand. Thus your coffee carafe being replaced. And honestly, I think you have talked me into buying one of those measuring cups. Thank you for another great video…happiest of Thanksgivings to you and yours! 🍂🍁🍂🍂🍂🍁🦃
Your mixer sounds amazing! 😍 Thank you, and I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Fun and interesting.
Anna this was a great and informative video. The cookbooks are what I'm mostly after for myself. I also LOVE Nordic Ware cookie sheets and I have quite a few of the small ones too. It's so ironic that I use them to carry things on too. Actually I'm doing it right now. I'm cooking Thanksgiving dinner a day early and I am using them to put stuff I've already made and ingredients I need by my stove where I also have a snack tray. I have a tiny cottage that I live alone in. I also LOVE good grips too. Did you know that America's Test Kitchen is where I first found out about a lot of the kitchen gadgets and appliances. Thanks for sharing this video. There are a few things I'm interested in purchasing that I don't have so thanks for the info. See you in the next one.❤❤❤😊
I love America's Test Kitchen. Every time I need a kitchen tool, I consult their channel or one of their articles first! 😄
Nice video thanks!
Wonderful thanks so much
Thanks for watching, Doris!
Oh my, the Betty Crocker Cookie Cookbook and the Cookbook for Boys and Girls! I think I'm going to get them both! 😍😍
I have looked at GIR products before and have purchased a few items. I was pronouncing it like grrr but it's pronounced gear 😂
1962 Sunday News Family Cookbook. My Mom had it for years some great recipes and some that are definitely a sign of the 60’s. (aspic, jello molds , etc. ). There’s a pork chop casserole recipe my Mom made a lot . Layer apples, potatoes, and onions with pork chops at the bottom. I would love to send a copy to you . Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
Great video! I have wondered about lots of your stuff. I really want the 2 oz. OXO measuring cup! So much easier than measuring spoons.
Thanks so much
Can you do a recipe from the Rita and Tim Hildebrandt Fantasy cookbook one day?? 🥰
Loved this video😊
Glad you liked it! 😁
i love tazo tea
Good, thanks a lot
Thanks for the recommendations! My kitchen wish list just doubled! In addition to the coffees, teas, and spice do you have a list of favorite ingredients you just love using in your everyday life?
I really had to think about this one! 😂 I love using chili crisp as a condiment on a lot of things.
@@cooking_the_books I will give that a try! Thanks for the recommendation!
You did great! I really appreciated your information-I am going to put the mixer on my list for Santa. I have already purchased some puppy coffee and I think I will get the cookie press to make cookies with my grandchildren. I hated using the old timey press but loved the cookies they made-this will solve that problem. I have my mother's cooky book-well loved but precious to me. Thanks again.
Your vlog was great! Loved your idea for this, perfect timing as well. Lets hit those Black Friday sales ❤
Thank you for some great kitchen gift ideas. You made me nervous wielding that hand mixer so close to your face and hands! But it looks like real quality. Those Santa mugs look like Holt Howard - awesome! Happy Holidays! 🎉
As usual, a great video showing these truly useful products.Great gift ideas too and just in time.
Anna, thank you so much for creating this video. Alot of times I'll watch your videos and read all your wonderful fans comments. I enjoy when they ask you product questions and you respond. This was great 👍. Keep up the great videos. I apologize I know I binge watch alot 🤗Have a blessed and beautiful day🥰
Thank you!! and no need to apologize - I am glad you enjoy my videos. ❤
You popped up on my CZcams feed 2 months ago and I immediately subscribed. Still catching up on older videos but I have enjoyed all of them. You’re so funny and engaging. I love old cookbooks as well and you’ve inspired me to cook some meals in my old Betty Crocker kids cookbook I got back in the 70’s. Keep up the wonderful videos and thanks for the inspiration. 😎
Thank you! So glad you're enjoying my videos. ❤
My Joseph Joseph twist whisk came in the mail yesterday 😊The twist mechanism is different from yours- it’s at the top of the handle, right under the whisk. Already used it twice today.
Ah I thought the design looked a little different!
😍 I loved this video!! I used your link to buy the GIR spatula! I have a bunch of smaller ones and love that they’re all one piece. Thank you for making this one, I love seeing kitchen items that others are passionate about. Happy Thanksgiving!
Thank you! I hope you love the spatula!
❤ All excellent ideas and a fantastic video ❤ thank you Darlin, prayers that you and yours have a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving ❤
Hi Anna, What a wonderful video!! There are some really great ideas, and I think I might make a few spice bundles for small gifts. Wishing you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving!
Anna, where did you get your vintage enamel pots? They look to be in perfect condition.
Great video, as always! I'm happy you shared the items you use, and why you use them. I was actually wondering about the Ove Glove after seeing it in your video. You've convinced me to try them.
Thank you!! One thing I forgot to say about the Ove Gloves - they have a 'grippy' material on them that makes them even better! I can grab something from the oven and know that it's not going to be slippery.
Thank you for sharing these gift ideas. I hope you continue to do more and more of these videos - maybe even based on various themes. I'm a huge tea drinker, so I'd also love to hear if you have other tea recommendations too. I also have had much success with OXO products. I've been wanting Ove Gloves - so I'll hint at that and will hopefully find them under my Christmas tree - please Santa. ha ha!
Glad you found some of my gift ideas helpful! As for other teas, I'm a BIG cinnamon fan. I love Good Earth Sweet and Spicy. The same company used to make a Sweet and Spicy peppermint tea that is also delicious, but I haven't been able to find it lately.
I am from the south and I pronounce spatula as "spatuler" with an "er" on the end. 😆
That was an awesome video and very worth the time to watch it. I was so excited when I saw it in my queue. Thanks for sharing! 🫶🏻😘☕️
