why couldent you use the heat gun to flare the end to fit the tiller handle instead of using the hacksaw and then use the one hose clamp to secure it thus getting your weight bias forward

I used 2 shop vac extensions. 1 slides inside the other making the length i wanted. These are lighter than pvc, fit exactly over my tohatsu tiller. Do the pair of cut slits making it have the ability to be clamped tight. Already black.

Skip the acetone and use water and let it air dry USE THE TACK CLOTH BEFORE PRIMING and every time you sand..sand with 800 or 1000 grit wet/dry sandpaper, NOT the steel wool. MOST IMPORTANTLY....SPRAY IN AN AREA WITH GOOD LIGHTING...if you spray like he did in low lighting, it will turn out like crap like his did and not a smooth glass finish...good lighting will show your imperfections that need to be addressed and not spend all that money to say "I'm ok with it" or just to cover it up with a decal. A high quality gloss should look like a high quality finish, not like a gloss that looks like he used a 97 cent can of spray!

how did this hold up? I'm looking at doing something like this or going the aluminum angle and rivet route. This looks so much more manageable for me and my skillset. I do have a foot controlled trolling motor that I need to mount. That deck looks perfect for that as long as I can secure it to the boat .

This is impressive results. And the F25 is a compelling option if you're stuck deciding between a 20 and a 25 tiller, the Yamaha F25 is basically a strong 20 as it is a 2 cylinder design, it has less displacement (432cc) as the 3 cylinder brands (500cc) but more than the 20hp 2 cylinder options (>350cc). It is a true in between and offers the best combo of power and weight savings. I'd like to know what the fuel burn difference is compared to a Tohatsu 25 and see if having less displacement makes a difference (even though the Tohatsu is working less hard).

This is the best smallmouth river by far. Have a 21 1/3in mounted i caught in 1994 from there. I was 10. Now we kayak or canoe from that spot where you park. Down river the land owners are strict n gotta have permission to hit those stretches now a days. You can easily catch 8-12in smalleys all day n 1 of 10 will be 1-2lbs (12-16in). But sometimes you get to hook into 4-5 pounders. Not often though. Awesome vid!

I have always towed with manual vehicles. One thing I do just for peace of mind is use a wheel chock too. I will put some kind of cable on it and clip it to the hitch on safety chains. Then I just pull it along to the top of the ramp. My cars all had longer rear overhangs than a hatch, so I always strove not to put my wheels tin the water if I didn't have to. I usually didn't. But yeah I just do this because I don't trust e-brakes to hold the rig on a hill with me out of the car. I have also launched with some old 5 speed trucks with no working e-brake. I have never seen this happen, but I have been told that a standard transmission can be knocked out of gear when powerloading with a bigger boat.

I towed my Jon Boat with a 5 speed Civic Hybrid for a while. Its a big one too, a 16x72" with a suzuki 30hp. It didn't tow it that well, but it handled fine.Only thing was it struggled on one gravel ramp that I like, as it had low rolling resistance tires and a light little 1.3L. It barely liked to climb that ramp without a trailer. I towed it with some bigger front wheel drive cars, including a stick shift 90s maxima and a late 90s Grand Prix GT. Both of those cars could tow it very well. But both had very questionable mounting for the hitch receiver(unlike the little honda) Now I still have the boat, but I have 2 vehicles that are more than capable of towing it. A little 4x4 5 speed Nissan Pickup and a Chevy Caprice station wagon thats also a 5 speed lol. The truck is kinda low on power with big tires, so its kinda slow and thirsty towing, but the Caprice you don't know its back there, its got 2 cylinders and 100 extra horsepower on the truck though so ther is that. I like towing with a standard though, kinda nervewracking on ramps. But they hold up better, especially in FWD cars.

Lake where I live os packed with peacock. Used all lures you said 🎉and nothing. Caught a blue gill and a peacock tried to eat it but didn't fit in it's mouth. What am I doing wrong?
