How Is This Water So CLEAR?!?!? Sight Fishing Peacock Bass

- Sight fishing is the best kind of fishing you can do. Especially when the water is crystal clear and you can see everything! Whether its largemouth bass, peacock bass, smallmouth, snook, tarpon, redfish, the list goes on... When you can sight fish any species and watch them eat your lure, its a good day. I came out today to prepare for some upcoming peacock bass fishing charters I have booked. As a fishing guide, I have to stay on top of where the best bite is no matter the conditions. This video was filmed in January, and Florida has been experiencing the longest winter we've had in a long time. Fortunately the temperatures haven't dropped super low. However, it's been cold enough to affect the bite in a lot of areas. Water temps have gotten down into the low 70's, even high 60's and in the everglades, where I'd prefer to host my fishing charters, the peacock bass have not been biting at all. Even with live bait! I know of a residential system that is fed by the underground aquifer, and the ground water typically stays at 74 degrees year round, so I knew the fish should be around and fairly comfortable. Come along with me during a day of fishing for peacock bass and figuring out where the best bite will be for my clients!

The underwater eat was AMAZING! What a fish!
Thanks Tracy! I don't plan on doing it much more in the future. Most likely will plant the camera on the nest and leave them be lol.
Another fine video brother. The weather is heating up, it's about to get crazy!
one time i had a peacock on, got him on land, he got off and flopped back in the water, went back to the bed, and ate again. Let's just say I got a picture with a peacock.
Can't wait to be there 🤩🤩
Awesome footage! I am in the panhandle snd cant wait untill I have time to make a trip down there to chase peacocks, snake heads, and clown knifes.
Go get em Steve!
Where in the Panhandle? I grew up in Pensacola.
@@swkelley I am in Pensacola, on the west side near the NAS.
@@Steve-ev6vx you in the Navy? That's how I ended up there as a kid.....my father was in the Navy.
Where in Florida are you? I’m going to Clearwater with a fly, gonna do chase some Reds and trying to see if peacocks are on the the Gulf side of Florida, or do I need to go further south east for them
There are some peacocks on the west coast in the Ft. Meyers area. I fish on the east coast, so couldn't tell you where its most productive over there.
