      Yes, it is definitely a common problem. I actually already changed that gasket in the first part of the rebuild ahaha... seems to be all good now :) thanks for the advise

    The car is high mileage. Is it not risky to change the transmission fluid at such a high mileage? Could the fluid change cause transmission slippage? Anyway, love the video!

      I had the exact same concern when I was changing my transmission fluid. When contacting the delear and doing my research, both have told me that doing a flush of the transmission fluid can damage the internal clutches (yes, automatic transmissions also have clutches), but doing a drain and a fill, like I have done in the video is really beneficial. The transmission fluid has a few additives that over time burn off essentially due to heat. Draining that old fluid and replacing it with clean new fluid actually lubricates those clutches preventing slippage and damage to the transmission. Thanks for the support and asking the question!     I love seeing the cosmetic fixes like the headlights, hood and windshield. They’re usually so simple and can instantly make the car look so much newer.     Great job, my wife has a GLK and I've done many of the same jobs. Not looking forward to the engine mounts, they are coming up soon.. When I did the rear brakes the rotors got hung up on the parking break, a huge pain in the butt.

      I have researched lots about the ams oil European Formula, and it seems to be performing better than Liquimoly. I have also been using the ams oil in the s-class for 2 years now, and it honestly seems to be a bit better. I will definitely research more thou :)

    BMW DIY'er here...I have always admired the GLK line. Small, boxy and built like a tank from what I've heard. Reasonably inexpensive in the used car market is s big plus too.

    Just becareful using wood under Jack stands...if that's fractures the entire car might fall on you. I always put the wheels u see the car as a precaution.

    Amazing choice man. You can practice a bunch of different things on it. You may have it for quite a long time if you decide to center your motorcycle Journey more around honing your skills vs upgrading bikes. And another thing, 19000 km is nothing on that bike, but if you managed to get a lower price because of that, thats great! LOL. Go fast and careful man.

      I definitely agree! The power delivery on this bike is super good as well, so it's almost impossible to get bored from it. I was under the assumption that 19k for a motorbike is quite a lot, but now i know it's nothing, especially for a Honda! Thank you for the comment and ride safe as well 😎

    I am a professional mechanic and I'd never do all that work on jackstands. This would would be done in like 1/4 of the time with a lift. But you gotta use what you've got.

    Use anti-seize on the back of the brake rotors where the mounting surface is. It will make the next removal easier.
