Installing heated grips on a DR650
zhlédnutí 2,5KPřed rokem
Is it possible to install new grips over the stock Susuki DR 650 throttle tubes? Yes, and I've found something that actually worked well at removing the OEM bonded grips. #dualsport #dr650 #advriders
Building up my Surly Trucker DeLuxe

Picked up this trucker deluxe frame a few weeks ago and have been gathering up parts here and there. The rest were pillaged from my old Kuwahara dad bike. This thing feels so good!!!👍 #surly #surlybikes #surlytruckerdeluxe

Why I Became a FreeMason

There is much misconception about freemasonry. I think the biggest one I've seen is that it's a form of religion or cult. It is a Fraternity. I am only barely started on my journey, but already I can see how great it is going to be.

Hey there ! Nice vidéo, thanks ! I am looking to get your kind of front rack. I saw Surly brand on it. can you give me reference of it please. Would be perfect to fit on my moonies ! Continu to enjoying your ride ;) Cheers
good job¡
It's cool that they used the numbers for the amount of sides of different boxes. Stanley used those on their old miter boxes but fazed them out. They were on there because in the old days carpenters only needed a sith grade education. They didn't have geometry at their disposal so they relied on the numbers denoting the amount of sides a box had, rather than the degrees
I would aprisiate IF you would chek out How mutch fuel it uses wirh those change.
I dig the music. Song title and artist please?
Thanks
hi dude, sweet bike build 🤟🤙🤙 really enjoyed the video thanks for sharing
Thanks, this has saved me a heap of faffing around, found a motion pro replacement for about 10 bucks and ordered them, that just looks too hard. cheers
I picked up a pugs 4 years ago with similar problems. I upgraded the wheel set, cockpit, and replaced the brake pads and cables. Now it is my primary MTB and I race it successfully. These og surlys are so good and they last forever.
How thick is that sheet of aluminum?
thank you.
thank you.
These shims are necessary? On Aussie mod they shaved the side of the plastic off the needle so it sits lower lol
I need to find this frame
Your enemy is stupid brainless drivers who shouldn't be on the road in the first place, that rear blinker while braking will only confuse those stupid brainless drivers even more, I wouldn't ride with those.
Glad your Son was not hurt. Amazing backing job without a camera!
Love a high mileage honda or toyota. Great video.
For sure. Thank you so much! I appreciate that. 👍
Does Canadian law prevent you from driving the Honda with cosmetic damage? Thanks for bringing us along, and congrats on the once in a lifetime hitch alignment.
No not really but the missing headlight would be an issue. I think as long as parts aren’t going to fall off while driving or it affects the way the car drives you can leave cosmetic damage as is. Thanks! I wish I could hit that every time but at least I have video prove that I did it perfect once😆👍
What happens when the grip material on the oxford's wear out? Do we buy a replacement set of heaters?
What happens when the tires wear out? Do we buy replacement tires?
8000 miles from something designed for track racing is pretty good right?
If you like garbage parts than sure, it’s pretty good. It’s the fact the the part that failed is the exact same part that is on every clutch cable out there racing or not. That little bulbuls end. They simply did a crappy job of that part. Hey, if you want to put this on your bike and have it fail while riding in traffic go ahead. I certainly don’t want that again.
What size is that ?
Yes I live in Canada also, it has been -38 Celsius last few days had my GB40 in the car (still started my car) the over heat symbol was flashing, brought it inside it went back to showing battery level and taking charge, wonderful piece of equipment, love it well worth the money.
Hey, did you had the GB40 inside your car all the time at -38 C's? I just bought one for my wife in case she parks the vehicle a few hours and then it doesn't start due to the cold weather (we live in Saskatoon). But I was thinking she keeps it on her purse or somehow brings it with her when is that frigid cold of -30'sC. But I'm afraid she keeps forgetting it at home.
Shoulda said u had a block heater on the car, makes jump starting it way easier 😂😂
Cool, love the colour.
Ill be running a lot of highway and want to add a tooth on the front sprocket to lower the revs some but i was concerned about the bike being able to pull it. This sounds like the extra power would compensate enough to pull the taller gear.
Jeremy, great video on the simple things that make big improvements. Do you know the brand, model #, for the Blind Bearing Puller and Slide Hammer? Thank you.
Typical car guy.
They look wonderful. What temperature did you cook them?
Excellent stuff. 🤘🤘
Great video and a great bike! I've had 2 Cross Checks. I got the first one over 20 years ago. I sold it and bought one a size larger 5 years ago. I've very much enjoyed my Cross Checks. Always SS by the way.
Thank you so much
No word of a lie, this happened two weeks ago: At the big orange box, bought a 2x4x10 and a 2x6x10. Toss on the cart, roll up to the check-out: "Hello Sir" says the fella behind the till I haven't seen before. Looking at my sticks, he says: "Oh.....you might want to pick out some other wood, Sir. These are quite crooked". I says, without much thought and in my off-the -cuff, sarcastic humor way: "Ah!.....You must be new here. Those are Canadian straight. You must be thinking of American straight. They get all the mathematically straight wood. We get hockey sticks and fried bacon strips here" ....... He looks a bit confused, but proceeds to scan and ring it up. "That's as straight as they are?" "Yep, those are the finest! Took me 15 mins to dig them out. And they're only that straight because they're soaking wet, right outta the kiln. I'll have to clamp them for a month and hope the ends don't curl up and touch....." Him looking at me in disbelief, but maintaining a friendly smile. "Very good, Sir" As I'm tapping my card, it occurs to me, this gentleman's complexion AND heavy accent means his is likely "new here" as in the country. Not as in "new here" as in working at the store, as I had intended in my opening monologue........ oh schit. So I lean in: "Sorry, when I said "new here" I was referring to you working here, at the store, not new to Canada." He maintains our shared lean-in and says, "I assumed you meant new to the store. But yes, indeed, I have not been in Canada that long either...." Both leaning back up right, he extended his hand and we shook. We both smirked and started chucking. "Good luck with the clamping, Sir"
Nothing finer that lumber stored out in the rain! All that extra water for free and you get to wait a month for it to dry in your own shop because the retailer is to phuqing cheap to at least through up a tin shed or two. Yep....Canadian lumber..... it's straight, crack-free and dry as a nun's fart....... if you buy it South of the border......
Great job , just bought the same box for my DR . Tip for getting on and off the bike with a trunk ….. From the clutch side , put your left foot on the peg . Then grasp bars and stand on the left peg while swinging your right leg over . To dismount , stand up on pegs and swing your right leg over the seat onto ground . Just like getting on and off a horse . CHEERS .
Nice pack of bikes, more bike content pls :))
I don't understand how tapering the needle at the tip improves low end response? Think about it. I drilled my original main jet, and ground my needle and it was never right, yes it ran alright but it wasn't 'right' , but after tinkering abit more with it, I'm like you, I've got my bike tuned to the point where I don't think it could get any better. Cut Airbox and exhaust header weld ground down, drilled slide, cut spring, 155 mikuni main jet, 45 pilot jet, stock needle shimmed up a smidge. I don't have pipe on mine cut but I'll order a couple more sizes up of main jet when that comes, itll probably end up at around 160 or 165 mainjet. I bought an extended fuel screw and that has been an excellent addition too, When the pipe comes I also want to do abit of porting and polishing on the exhaust side of the head. When you get them 'right' they run amazing, sitting still at idle the bike idles butter smooth, and you can't smell anything, at cruise the motor is buttery smooth, but then you give it some wrist and it makes you feel all giddy, I can wrist it around tree's in figure 8's , then scoot up to 70mph with ease and sit there all day. Cheers,
Can you add solder to it to make it stronger 😮
nice job
I’ve got a Surly long haul trucker. I was watching this because I want to put flat bars on due to hand arthritis, so this video was great thank you. I love the fact that you do a skid like a 12 year old kid😂
been doing the same with my Evil Sovereign. Single and multispeed for a countless time, depending on my mood lol
Hey there, i have the exact vintage of KM (mines yellow though, call it Sunbeam) and these are exactly the bars I've been imagining. Love these KM how to videos
Are the bearings the same a roller skate and skate board bearings? They look like it.
You can use hairspray to push on a stubborn grip, it also helps to lock it on.
Little bit of brown sugar never hurt anybody… 🤠: “diabeatus”😂
There's keto brown sugars now. So many replacement ingredients 😊
Nice peak into your project.Anything to extend riding time in the northern latitudes.ty
Mine lacks power as its standard carb . Put some copperslip grease round the threads where steel goes into alloy. They seize up easily especially with bolts in aluminium head like exhaust clamps.
