This flight was to test the take off roll and climb performance with the gross weight about 50lbs heavier than I'd had it previously. I have another flight at an even heavier weight planned before starting the trip to move the aircraft to Idaho.

Hi Peter I've been constantly watching the videos after seeing this video I was so happy that you are creating your own aircraft design along with a new design on engine as well. But, sorry to say this... Since from day one of your previous aircraft u have been comparing your product with Cirrus / some other aircraft just to showcase your aircraft as the cheapest / affordable one in the market with which u would be able to sell it out in bulk. I don't feel that's a good way / strategy to market your aircraft (being an experimental) with a certified one which is still running successfully. In this video u are blatantly expressing your ideas to build, market and sell your aircraft for close to $100000 with a 100% profit margin after all of your building costs based on the idea you gathered from Ford F150 car manufacturing process. What's your real idea ? R u trying to make the Aviation market competitive in terms of a product with good quality & sustainability or just to bring down the cost to make it a Cheaper one so that all other competitors in the Aviation industry should go bankrupt ??? Never compare your products value in terms of cost with a current and well established product / Competitor. Try to market your product just based on its features and how advanced it would be in the industry as compared to others and give the choice to the customer to think on their own while buying one. This way, as the saying goes "Competition brings excellence " in terms of a products quality not in terms of cost just by quoting "CHEAP" to sell out in bulk just for making profits. Hope this would help u change your way of marketing your product. "Sorry for the long comment"
Thank you 888
30,000 aircraft. Yeah right😂. How long have RV family of plane been around and they have sold over 10,000
Yes there is lots of cheap drone software out there for multi rotor drones but not two of three rotors tilting and transitioning to hover. This is just absolutely BS that you can VTOL 4000lbs with so little HP. 😂 and the wing needs to be a high aspect ratio for low energy cruise, not a box.
I still think you should continue to develop on the previous design. It flew. Find ways to make it lighter.
you final gave up lmao
Very nice. I love your project. The oscilation was a bit scary and I am glad that it ended well.
No updates???
Dear Pete. The wheel has already been invented.
So close with the Raptor project. Beautiful, spacious plane. Overweight off course for the power available due to the heavy build but that was a solvable problem in time. An unfortunate end but a fascinating journey for those of us who watched. So glad a new project is in the making. Looks totally fascinating. I wish all involved the best of luck.
Is there any further development of this aircraft please. Things have gone very quiet.
1:00 🤦♂️🤦♂️ 1,500lb of thrust from 90hp at 10-11 gal hour... And 300ktas... This is not how propellers work! Fundamentals. I mean, entry level knowlege is lacking.
Nice layout, just subscribed it's my goal to own a place at Holley Mt. Looking for exactly what you had for sale. I have chatted with Beth a couple of times in hopes to find something. Wish I knew about this place when you were selling. Thanks
Why don't you can the BS. The numbers just don't add up.
Any updates?
WOW I did not like that.
How much horses power and torque the engine was developing?
Have you looked into the next-generation rotary design that Liquid Piston is working on? Should be the best power/weight ratio for any internal combustion engine to date, low parts count, flexible fuel ability, etc.
Glad to hear you can through without injury mate, hope to see you posting again soon!
I know videos 4yrs old but, The bearing housing you wer pumping grease in, did you run a temp sensor on it or was heat not a concern, I’m looking at building a psru and was just curious
What about a lower stall speed?
I do have one question with the old raptor it seems like the flight controls seem to be complicated connecting them together is that still true with this new version?
Keep going Peter. I'm living your dream vicariously and hoping that this actually becomes a reality. I'm an old flight test engineer on the B-1. In this world using the technology this can become a reality. I look forward to having one. I'll build it's own garage on my front pasture.
Maybe you should finish the original Raptor! There’s a concept 😮
If you can make it for 1 million USD it's still nice
Sham you stoped
Uh, fellows…..could we get our minds off the beauty of this thing and focus instead on that flat landing trajectory and dangerously high over the fence speed? Evidently canards are not compatible with flaps so a forced landing is gonna be a nightmare unless the engine quit over the salt flats. Beauty is nice but staying alive also has its attractions.
Look at developing the technology in unmanned vehicles, or at least in a smaller less ambitious experimental aircraft and avoid Certification till the technology is well along. I'm nearly seventy now and I've seen all to many brilliant but overly ambitious projects fail, I'd hate for this to be another one.
Fantastic!!! Will change aviation!!
man that thing sounds mean when the RPM comes up. beautiful
Why flying from the right seat ?
i think you need wipers, don't you???
Are you located in Boise ? I’m in Boise id love to meet you take you to lunch
You still alive out there?
What is going on with the customers that have made a deposit on the aircraft.
gear box ,a recipe for disaster
Dude whats up with that project? There's no update since that publication 7 months ago then I hope You're not going to pull the plug Peter. You did an amazing aircraft with a super wide cockpit and all the tools and cabon fiber molds ready to mass produce something great. At least just continue and not piss in the pan please. After all that personal investment into that unique project. Whatsoever I dont speak english but I really wanted to tell you this. Im certain that Im not alone thinking about your project and whats going on in your mind right now. Peace and get back to work Peter!
I like the aircraft idea. Looks similar to a Moller concept from the '80s. Diesel-electric is ideal. Biofuel is not my dream, as turning food into fuel and production land needs is environmentally bad. Fossil fuels are fine, as CO2 is not the problem it's claimed to be.
As far as Ford getting into Aircraft business you might look into the Ford Tri-Motor a.k.a. the Tin Goose from the mid 1920's. Ironically this plan also has three motors one in the nose and two on the wings.
Certainly glad you are ok and something is salvageable of the original aircraft. I see where the wing joins the "winglet" there are 90-degree angles, some research show that a gentle curve provides some significant performance gains. The top wing and winglet does have a curved join so I wonder if you have considered this for the bottom sections.
not even a good dream
where is the differency vs. the velocity canard ?
With all these problems I wouldn't want to make any more videos either. "Up until it crashed it was flying great"
I can see why this project was abandoned. Took forever to get airborne, serious oscillations, looked like it was struggling big time to climb, engine running hot.
Peter, looks great! The power plant seems like a good fit. The lower wing flap extended for vertical operation looks like it might hit the runway when the gear if extended and the strut compresses totally, like a hard landing. It is probably my view of your video-hopefully there is clearance. The Ford production idea, with there aluminum sculpting experience, is great. Hopefully they get onboard, especially with the autonomous capability, and burning ‘alternative’ fuel. Good luck.
did you say you have a power generator to power the electric engines??? Why not just have fuel powered?
Struggles to get nose wheel shimmy out…..next stop VTOL! I’m thirty years in and could never fly that rig. Looks like your local yocal AP could maintain it also.
This aircraft will barely climb to the traffic pattern with one person and light fuel, how will it climb to the flight levels with fuel and passengers? There is already aircraft built (and data) that tells you what is required to achieve these results. It’s almost like people in third world countries trying to build a very basic aircraft. I’m all for innovation but this is putting people at risk for an overweight pig.
Glad to see you back, my friend!
