I miss when in shonens we had fights where it wasn't about brainlessly beating some random goon: win conditions are important and a way for your protagonost to shine without giving them just a bigger nuke every time. They don't have nor wanna beat Zabuza, because there's no way they beat him. They just need to free Kakashi, he's the win condition. They both shine, they both look cool, they both hold their own... All without having to simply spam nukes and overpower someone way above their weight class
