Trance Kuja's most dangerous attack is Flare Star, since it deals fixed damage based on the party members' individual levels. Holy can be resisted using equipment (either nullify or absorb) or reflected. Flare may KO a party member, but it can be reflected or mitigated with Shell. Be aware that Trance Kuja will not use Flare or Holy on any party member that has Reflect status, which may increase its chance of using Flare Star. Trance Kuja may cast Reflect on himself but spells like Doomsday can bypass this (be sure that all party members either nullify or absorb Shadow element). Finally, Trance Kuja can heal himself with Curaga. After Trance Kuja's HP is depleted, he will cast Ultima and end the battle.
Necron has slightly lower stats than Trance Kuja, but is much more dangerous. You are given the option to change your party between fights so it is recommended to use the 4 party members you didn't use against Trance Kuja. Necron's AI script allows it to take four moves per turn, which is already bad. Like Trance Kuja, Necron also has Curaga. Necron has access to all three of the -ga elemental spells as well as Holy so having resists to Fire/Ice/Thunder/Holy is greatly recommended. Necron can bring a party member's HP to 1 with Blue Shockwave (though this can be used as an advantage if Quina is in the party and has learned Limit Glove). Necron's most dangerous attack is Grand Cross, which has a chance at inflicting all the different status ailments in the game so make sure the party has as many abilities equipped that resist ailments (Clear-Headed, Bright Eyes/Accuracy+, Body Temp, Locomotion, Antibody, Jelly). Necron will always follow up Grand Cross with Neutron Ring, which is just a strong non-elemental attack. But with the party crippled from Grand Cross, it can cause a wipe if you were unlucky with the status ailments. Lastly, Necron has Meteor which can be an instant party wipe if you are unlucky. It's recommended to bring Quina to this fight, and that s/he has learned Angel's Snack so most of the negative ailments from Grand Cross can be removed (be sure to have an adequate amount of Remedies). Eiko can revive party members with Full-Life or Phoenix, though be aware that if Grand Cross inflicted Zombie, heals/revives won't work until a Magic Tag is used to remove the Zombie ailment (it can't be removed using Angel's Snack, Remedy or Esuna). Overall, Necron is not as strong as Ozma, but it is still a challenging fight.

It was a tough fight but I struggled with Mariabell a lot more on "Hard" diffuculty.

Is this fun? There seems to be no skill involved. You abuse the mechanics and constantly spam max guard and simple crafts. Sky 1-3 is just a bad game gameplay wise.

You can choose to not do them and miss this boss. A lot of people will never fight this guy because they won't want to stick to the mini-games.
wow. I thought they already throw out all that make FF series good. Goof for them . JK aside. they should discontinue FF series if they respect it. And start a new series with action RPG as the combat sistem.
It has now been 22 years since the last turn based ff. (One that was only turn based due to a tumultuous development no less). I think it’s time to move on man. Dragon quest is right there also being made by squenix

@@anton8964 why would they use a different title when the franchise as a whole has been actively chasing a more active battle system since the introduction of atb in 4 which was specifically added because the developers thought regular turn based was too boring.

Fans don't want a FF that not JRPG. that why new FF never surpass their superior predecessor. the new ff so simple. no well thought battle mechanic . no hidden efect . no thing that make the battle interesting beside smashing button.

I still prefer the original Jenova theme that plays on your way down the platforms to the planet's core. The Jenova Synthesis theme tune was good though, not gonna lie. The remake is so amazing I thought I was gonna be disappointed.

Tbh kind of surprising ppl say it’s hard cuz I remember beating it first try with evasion strats. The Sigmund fight was way more annoying cuz of the time limit
I'm on the side. Sigmund was really easy. It took me tops 2.30. But this one, kill me a couple of times before I can even do a single thing. Her s-break is an insta kill no matter where you are.
One of the hardest fights in the franchise for sure. Especially in the second phase. Trails always has those moments where you have to guess when the boss will S-Break. In the modern ones they usually go in enhance state, but the older ones like Azure was just intuition lol.
Yeah, I've been playing Reverie this month and it's waaaay too easy to protect yourself from the S-Breaks now. Everything is so telegraphed.

Taking a little break from Reverie to catch up on the earlier ones because I was stuck on that last divine knight battle.. Thought this one would be a little easier.. Guess I was mistaken..

I couldn't win even on an easier difficulty, said F it and am looking up how to win/the after cutscene. I literally have stopped playing this game for a week plus just because this fight, I don't want to concede defeat and continue the story.

It's easy in nightmare as much as easy if you cheese it like this video... But otherwise...Yeah, all hell breaks loose.
It took me a ton of resets just to win the fight on hard mode. I can't imagine how many tries it took on Nightmare

I won't lie I managed to beat Cassius the other day on nightmare and it was tough as hell having to ensure I had the buffs up including earthwall so he wouldn't insta ko or cripple everyone. Like man the celestial balm is a godsend as well as using cyclone napalm. Tbh if there was something funny it was wearing ninja tabi and Cassius missing his basic melee attack 😂
personally at this point in the game I like Lloyd with Wing better partly to prevent any ailments on him, and partly because STR up isn't going to do much of anything against bosses but mostly to pull out the funny magic damage buff to make Akashic Arm even more silly also big rip to no Rixia, she's incredibly based with Magius and makes for a very competent mixed attacker
