    I'm curious if you have a good alternative recommendation to that hard-to-find lens? Its on ebay right now for 7-8k, but that is hard to justify.

    • @christopherleggettphotography
      @christopherleggettphotography Před 2 měsíci

      Sadly, I don't. Last year I bought a spare on for 4000 Euro, that is how much i value having one. Originally, Schneider was selling them for $8000. They only made 100 lenses in total. Then, as they were not selling, they dropped the price to $5000 and that is when i bought my first one. If you are in it for the long run, then 7/8k will still be a good investment, as, i think, the prices will keep going up.

    • @christopherleggettphotography
      @christopherleggettphotography Před 3 měsíci

      GF80 has been on my wish list for too long, so I am going to guess. The 80 MF is around 57mm expressed in a focal length of 35. As our eyes see the world in 35 focal length, it would stand to reason that the persecutive distortion, would then be a t a minimum.

    Hello Christofer. I want to ask your opinion, do you think a move from 45mp FF to GFX 100s for architecture/int. design is a good move? I mean I know it' s ~stop more in DD and more mp, but probably my clients will not notice the difference. What is your opinion on that?

    • @christopherleggettphotography
      @christopherleggettphotography Před 5 měsíci

      First, forget about the clients. They seldom see anything. It should be all about want you care. That will define you as a photographer. Next, file size, although advantageous, it is far less important than Dynamic Range. The GFX has about 17 stops, which is amazing, when you think back of chemical cameras , that had 4 stops on slides and nearly 5 stops on negative film. Its a game changer for architectural photography, especially in the tropics, where i mostly shoot, with huge differences between indoor and out door light.

  • @christopherleggettphotography

    Welcome to the world of photography. C1 enables one to take better control of the the broad spectrum of you RAW image ranges, but LR is more user friendly (my opinion) and with certain techniques, one can, in the end, achieve the same results.

      @@christopherleggettphotography I personally think there's a conspiracy in the camera industry. They are purposely putting inferior tech in cameras. They should have onboard fast storage, a screen like cell phones use, onboard fast charging like cells have, a sim card slot so you can live stream with the camera, apps for the camera so you can play games and use tools on your camera, security like a fingerprint reader and anti virus.

  • @Juventinos

    is it dumb to do panoramas of interiors? (with a parallax tripod adapter (or what's it called)) , without a tilt shift lens? or is it a waste of time? I m kind of sick of all the renders looking like they were made with a 80mm lens with a 20mm field of view.. and the pictures look, well like 23mm looks on a gfx sensor. ( i don't care about the advantages of resolution, not yet at least :) just as a look. )

    • @christopherleggettphotography

      when you shift the lens, it is extremely difficult to stitch the image, therefore using the camera movement and the lens fixed (shift lens) make's it a lot easier

    one observation, isn't tilting to the ceiling technically a "reverse_ schiemflug" meaning that the tilt creates a minature effect, like looking from a high bridge onto a buisy street below, and ONLY tilting Downwards affects focus, ONLY not image proportions.

    one adaptor you missed, the one from Sinar LF monorail cameras to fuji GFX an adaptor board which fits onto the standard, in place of the ground glass, this makes a fully featured f2 or P2 system available to the fuji, making it a macro camera, plus fully capable movements, as if you were using sheet film.

    You could do a panorama for each set of exposures and then do a HDR? Or create HDRs and then combine the outcome into panorama? Manual (though can be scripted easily). Does Lightroom do the "scripting" internally? Or is the panorama creation HDR aware? It could deal with the overlaps differently - though that would be very complex.

I have watched a ton of videos here on CZcams, and some say, that it is somehow slow or slower ... compared to other GF lenses (auto-focus speed average), like in the slower area of all the lenses from Fujifilm available, where (not my own experience), the GF80 is extremely slow here and GF 45-100 is pretty fast. I have several notes but the main one is that when you did the shifting, you moved the lens instead of the camera body thus creating a small change in your lens position for each of the 9 frames meant to be stitched. Of course the software would have problems with that because you, as the user, created small differences in the stitching points for each shot. I’ve watched some of your other videos and you typically move the camera body which is the proper way to stitch. This is why if you stitch images with cameras such as the Alpa field cameras you always move the back and not the lens. I feel like this was a pretty unscientific and lazy video on your part and not particularly helpful for people who don’t know what I’m talking about.

    I watched an astrophotography video recently where the guy (Cuiv the lazy guy) pointed out the torque exerted by his autofocus rig onto the lens mount could affect lens alignment due to the single point of rotation. It’s an interesting observation I never thought about but it makes sense. I suppose the ideal follow focus would utilise a planetary gear train in order to better counter this.
