If you see this!! I know that, I'm about 3 years late but what do u think about use BLDC to rotate cam shaft? Since BLDC can move to percise angle with sensors it also can increse and decrese rotation speed.

Bernoulli's principle has nothing to do with aerodynamics because a major assumption for it's derivation is that there is a closed control volume for constant mass flow. A wing in open air has an open control volume and so bernoulli's principle does not apply. Curvature is why airfoils make lift. The fluid by changing direction, by definition, is being accelerated in a new direction and this acceleration causes a pressure drop along with a component of momentum transfer by changing flow direction downward. In 2D airfoil theory, bernoulli's principle never even shows up.

We still have 3 15xts in our shop. Running next to modern millturns. They are simple and sturdy machines that can be maintained to this day pretty easily. Good choice for a used intro milling machine

I don’t think I could take a prestigious manufacturer, especially one with a rich racing pedigree, seriously if they didn’t make a big engined grand tourer. Historically Ferrari always did, Lamborghini did, Maserati, Aston, Jaguar etc. Porsche toyed with the idea even earlier than the 928’s 1971 design beginnings. There were stretched long hood 911 2+2 and even four door concepts. They were always going to build one either in 911 form or what became the 928.

A mechanical cpu like a 4004, 8080 or even a 6502. The Apple 1 [6502] was cloned with 930 logic gates. It would say z80 but a 16 bit bus seems unnecessary. It could have a clutch motor that helps it ticking, aka a clock. It could have a display where it's a matrix or white/black dots that can be quickly flipped. You could set up a timelapse of it doing it's thing and then play it back when it's done. Something like an animation of Tetris blocks falling into place. It would take a while to render each frame but it could be accurately captured with time lapse. Maybe only concern is why you're using metal. I get it you have the equipment but if you used thin/light weight plastic you could make the gares smaller or much more modular. You wouldn't need too much energy to move a chain of logic gates in step. This would be really cool.

Hey Wes, way back in 1967, I was in 7th Grade, and started learning about the ICE. In our encyclopedia set there was stuff about them, and I got the idea of using a rotating sleeve valve instead of Poppet valves (which came from steam engines) for cars. I built a couple of mock ups in wood and cardboard but due to budgetary constraints, never a prototype. Then many years later, George Coates came up with his CCRV design. Sigh. Instead of using air to actuate the Poppet valves, how about tapping off oil from a power steering pump? Some GM pumps have a reservoir that can be popped off and replaced with a metal tube and flange. When I was building a battle bot, I had that set up on a 49CC engine. If you can get or make a larger displacement engine oil pump, you could use that too. With great RESPECT, Randy
