Birdfeeder

I couldn't figure out why the birdfeeder was emptying so quickly...the tuis would make a bottle last a week but suddenly it was all gone in a day!

Cheeky NZ Kaka Stealing from tourists
zhlédnutí 2,8KPřed 6 lety
One of the favourite birds we encountered on our overnight stay at Kapiti Island in NZ was this guy - the Kaka, a very intelligent parrot. Now before anyone tells us off for feeding the birds, we knew the rules but unfortunately no one had explained them to the kaka who worked the crowd like a professional.
Kapiti Island Birdlife
zhlédnutí 1,7KPřed 6 lety
We went on an overnight stay at Kapiti Island, New Zealand which is a fantastic experience. This video shows a lot the birdlife that we saw. It's not easy filming birds, let alone handheld but the little Panasonic F990 does a great job. Trekking at night looking for little spotted kiwi was a lot of fun but very difficult to film! So I didn't even try.

Sweet birds, noisy birds. I rescued one off the road that had cut himself - likely on roofing. It was completely passive no biting or sqwalking. Had another that watched my working on my bike and when i talked back to it he swooped down and tried to grab my head. Gentle like. Probably thought he was landing.
Love to hear and see kōkako return to Tauranga Moana. They’re on Ōtanewainuku Im going there tomorrow, but be a blessing from the atua if they expanded to the tahatai where we all live
Ron Mundell was/is my grandfather. so nice to hear his voice again. thank you
Great, and cool music. Subscription earned

Ka rawe tō koutou mahi whakakite i te pono, i te tika, i te māramatanga ❤
Thank you
Thank you for avoiding the most common mistake on filming the interior of a cathedral: Filming the floor.
I agree with not putting music and hearing the raw sound but this is pretty old school Not some loud ass trap phonk
My brother told me about this video. I'm glad I watched it and seeing where my mother lived.
My mother came from recontre east.I visited there once, drove from Boston.Loved the video a lot, thank you
I was born in Wellington and grew up in Paraparaumu but left NZ when i was 13. I remember a trip my brother and i made to Kapiti Is with my Dad. This brings back fond memories. Hard to believe that was almost 40 years ago now. Would love to go back someday. Such an amazing and beautiful place. thanks for the video
nice
Any versions of this without the music? Us car guys want to hear the cars not a average music....
Q lindo muchas gracias 🙏 por compartir con nosotros sus vídeos muchas bendiciones
What is this beautiful music? And I agree about the puffins. You could chase them for days 🤣
haha that's funny that they like some birds but not others and that's so nice he looks after the broken legged hen!
See this car overtake cars that are far away ahead for only a few seconds.
It probably out accelerates a V8 Supercar series race car .At the Taupo race track back in 2008 the 5.8 litre Wildcat aftermarket Rover V8 put out 800 plus horsepower without turbos or a supercharger.
Beautiful we have south Island Tui"s and bellbirds are making a strong come back would love to see a south Island Kokako just maybe their are some out there some where??.
Thank you
Wonderful. The call pulls at my heart.
Beautiful, and I can confirm that these birds have so much fun taking part in the best bird of prey display I have ever seen.
The columns look like an ancient palm tree forest???
how come you are so awesome??
Watched almost a dozen videos of the inside of this volcano, and yours is the only good one. Thanks!
What a wonderful piece of film!
Nice video,very peaceful place.
Very cool, but, who in the world did the subtitles for this! 🤦♀️
That is auto generated by youtube...I didn't make this film with any subtitles. It doesn't seem to cope with the kiwi accent at all! Boodles lol
@@catandmousetv Haha, love your work! 🐦💚
So very well filmed Keith - thank you for sharing such beautiful images! My husband and I - after searching fruitlessly for puffins on Handa Island, off the west coast, in 2013 - were fortunate enough to visit Scotland again in 2018 and to our delight, discovered we could see LOTS of puffins on the Isle of May. It is one of our favourite travel memories, ever - as travel to Scotland itself is nowadays just a memory. Still,, at least we have had the enjoyment of travel to such a wonderful country and, thanks to people like yourself, have the pleasure of virtual travel now. All the very best, from South Australia.
Fascinating stuff
Awesome footage. Thanks for sharing
is the Mississippi River?
I was in Sonders island too in 2016
Lovely photography
Great video footage. And I liked the music. What was it?
Nice video! Just trying to find out about the road condition to the Columns. Is dry camping allowed along the dirt road?
Sorry, I'm not sure
I used to travel on the Blue Streak railcar. I wish it was still operating. The bus trip between New Plymouth and Wellington is tiresome.
Is this stock music of some kind? who composed it?
It's going back a while Jacques but I'm pretty sure this came from the Atmos library which we used to source from Australia and licensed the tracks off them...I remember getting CDs for a nominal fee and then filling in paperwork.
Wow, that bought back many memories. We moved to NP in 1952, and I went to West End School, then NPGHS. Worked for the NP Public Relations Office, when it was in Currie St, and had a lot to do with the Bowl of Brooklands. Eric Handbury's vision was great, even tho he faced a lot of opposition at the time. Also, in my own time, went around all the accommodation places, etc, and typed up a pamphlet for the city - there was nothing at the time. Also all the parks and places to visit. Left to get married in 1963. Don't live in NP now, but visit often, and are on its Facebook page, and love seeing it.

If things get bad in the UK we can all fuck off to the Island and tell Boris to stay home.
Feeding the birds grain-based foods like gingernuts can induce nutrients deficiency in them and possibly kill them so...
These must be especially tough then because they have been eating them for years.
From google maps, it shows you aren't able to drive all the way down there. you would have to park somewhere a little far and hike your way down? would love to confirm how you got there so i can plan ahead on my visit (:
Hi Morgan, the man driving us there is a local and he said we would most likely get lost if we tried to find it ourselves and then he would have to rescue us and so it was just easier for him to take us :) We returned the favour by doing the AirBnB cleanup for him before we left as his wife who normally does it was away taking their daughter to college. My advice...get a local to take you there. The tracks were not obvious at all and I would say you would need a 4WD vehicle too.
