@@ZappedAU i have noticed the media keeps saying there will be quite often 1-2 days of blackouts in late October to late February this year, so if a person has multiple kids or a kid probably a good idea to get a home battery of some sort installed (even a cheap one like a Sungrow or Goodwe) just incase. just treat it like one went to the casino and put AU$10,000 cash on red on-the roulette wheel but the ball landed on black, money gone but if there are 10 full days of no power in the 120 days of summer then it will have been worth it (from a comfort point of view)

@@Sensei_888 That's a pretty bad run at the Casino to drop it all on red! Putting that aside, the grid in my area has been somewhat OK (touch wood). Do you have batteries?

@@ZappedAU I don't have currently [home battery] but I am looking to install one (as cheap as possible supply & install, minimal size required - maybe 8kW or 9kW) incase there are 1-2 day blackouts multiple-times in next few years

You don't need a front camera. The problem why it wasn't seen is because the driver changed the setting from USS to Vision. If he drove in directly with Tesla Vision he would of course see it because the data is evaluated like when a person drives and sees something in front. Removing USS was the right decision; in FSD all cars drive without USS when deciding how to drive. The point of Tesla Vision is that a person who is driving only sees what he sees; he doesn't need ultrasonic sensors to estimate distances. In the long term, Tesla Vision will be better than the mature technology of USS.

@@ZappedAU so you can add paid membership option right now? thought had to be monetized to add the JOIN button. if you can add JOIN button you should consider to add a AU$1.49 a month option (cheaper means more will join) and if you want you can offer a 2nd higher level for a higher price as well

Yes. CZcams updated their partnership program to enable memberships from 500 subs. Will need to have a serious think about this!

Thanks. I agree with your comment but I think since we have grown and got used to USS with distance, there’s a much bigger change curve to adoption. Also acknowledging it isn’t perfect!

@@ZappedAU My first four decades of driving I had to use just pure vision to estimate distance. It’s only the last decade that I have had sensors on my car. I assume that in time the AI will be better at it than I am. So I won’t miss this recent introduction of ultrasonic measurements. 👍🏼😁

I know exactly what you mean. Whilst I haven’t driven as long as you, my first car had no cameras too! Learning to drive old school with eyes only has definitely gone out the window!

That was my initial thought too. I like knowing how far I am in a tight garage!

If you have 12 Ultrasonic Sensors on your Tesla, there is no need to Get Out And Look. That's the whole reason for the sensors.

@@DerekDavis213 Ultrasonic sensors are far from perfect. Very easy to reverse into a pole between two sensors or drive over a low garden bed. They have a much narrower beams than you may expect, and are only accurate at very close distances.

Fair point but in tight spaces, the sensors do work very well. Ultimately both have a use case. I do hope that Tesla doesn’t just disable the USS though.

@@ipullstuffapart And then there's the 8 Tesla Vision cameras, combined with AI and Neural Networks. And that system is so dumb, it will drive right thru a gate, right over a ladder in the road, and right over potholes and broken glass in the road. And it cannot read signs: DO NOT ENTER, ROAD CLOSED, etc. Tesla FSD is a simple minded Level 2 assistant, that is *years* *away* from Full Autonomy.

@@ZappedAU I did get EAP :D Loving it but yes, definitely favouring USS over TV right now. I'm still gonna give TV a week or so to do my garage reversing / some parking and really monitor the sides, but I just appreciate having the sensors and not some Rorschach blob test haha

@@ZappedAU Yep, agreed, mate. I tried Tesla Vision and switched back to USS within a few minutes. Why swap something that works for something that doesn't work?

I see your point. The only bit I felt vision worked better in my video was the fact that it identified a pillar whereas the sensors didn’t really pick it up as well. Having said that… pillars are pretty big so I’m pretty sure 99% of people would see it. I’m sticking by my words to test vision for about a month and will report back!

I was hoping for a blended view too. Normal reversing seems odd with Tesla vision. Definitely not used to it and I miss seeing the distance!

Seats were snug. Not tight/uncomfortable. For context, I’m about 171cm and just abit over 100kg. Bolsters around the hips are not adjustable. Legs are resting just to the side of the bottom seat bolster. Not sitting on top.

@@ZappedAU yea I tried everything last option is to just leave it overnight i guess. I clicked the alerts when I went back to the car and it does say "charge connector update in progress" but it never finishes it seems.

How long did you leave it there? If I remember right, I checked a while later so perhaps just let the car charge 1% overnight and leave it plugged in then see how you go in the morning. Otherwise potentially a service request to query it.

@@ZappedAU Ok, so I've asked around and contacted Tesla service and got an answer and resolved it. So what the issue was is that versions above 2023.20 has an issue where the update will keep on failing. I have the 2024 Model 3 with version 2024.8.9. For me I'm not sure if it's because of version, car, or both but it's causing update to fail. It is apparently resolved in the latest update but I don't have that. The solution was to find a old model 3 and plug the cable in to update it. Which is what I did. Again I don't know if it's because the car I plugged into was pre refresh Model 3 or if it's because they had the newest firmware. But regardless the cable updated in around 10 minutes. Someone I asked told me they took the cable to a Tesla dealer and they updated it for them. Which was my second option.

The buttons are the same in all Highland Model 3’s. Capacitive type “buttons”

Both are comfortable from a ride perspective. I think this Model 3 will be overall better as it’s got adaptive suspension compared to the EV6. Both are just as quiet. None more noticeably louder.

55k usd is 82k aud though so pretty much the same price.

Plus I want something that raws and feels like I'm driving a car to work, not some quiet car that feels depressing, imagine cruising through your favorite spot and all you can do is go fast which is not realistic in public areas, but if you have a car that is loud, still fast, and has a lovely feel to it, you are gonna enjoy that cruise 1000x better lol

Not referring to a W204. Agree that W204 is one of the meanest sounding V8's however from a general ownership/maintenance side of things; you're much more likely to have a list of stuff on a W205 C63S compared to a Tesla. I'm not referring to turning heads of a cheaper W204 + modifications. There are plenty of other cars we could throw into the list if we're talking about much cheaper + mods and turning heads. I feel we have similar taste except I wouldn't do a black edition body kit. That's just my personal view so if you have one - then I am so happy for you (and send me some videos!)

@@ZappedAU Oh which C63 are you referring to, the C63 is the oldest C63 with the 6.2, are you sure you weren't meaning a E550 W211? And don't get me wrong, the performance is a fast asf car and looks WAY better then the previous performance but it still doesn't weigh more then a beast sounding v8

I was referring to the w205 C63S. In Australia, you can get 2015/2016 models with higher mileage for the same price as this new Model 3 Performance.

@@ZappedAU Thanks for clarifying. I'm definitely not trying to side with the sales guy because, in my opinion, the Tesla Chatswood customer team is below average. However, I always base my views on facts. Honestly, you can't even scratch your ass in a Tesla and get away with it, as we owners know how good their Sentry Mode is, lol. It's one of my favorite features, and no other car companies offer anything like it on the market today.
