I am a one man show. I mainly buy, fix, and sell used atvs and utvs to pay the bills, but I love vintage stuff too. I have a good collection of vintage offroad atvs, three wheelers, and snowmobiles. Follow along as I share my collection and my current projects.
I Thought I Was Getting Scammed On This Deal | Part 2
I bought 7 gravely utvs from a random person that contacted me and had them shipped across the country. In this video I'm addressing a few issues before selling them.

Any hondas you sell? Or part out?
@thomasitta of course. I sell all the brands. I don't part them out though.
@CKPowersports ive always wanted to open a repair shop, I love working on atvs and snowmobiles
I wonder if LimeAway would have gotten the lime off?
@jamesbondero6170 that's the first solution I tried as well as clr cleaner then tried vinegar too.
@@CKPowersports ; Some of the oldest structures in the world are built with lime stone and they're still standing so that tells ya something about the durability of the material.
Given the state of the black accents of the vehicle, I think rattle can restoration was a great move. These machines are going to resemble their previous state not too long after they are sold, so they don’t have to be the prettiest thing in the world. A fleet owner is going to snatch this deal up; I see it all the time.
@fritztk9857 that was my same thought process. They aren't worth restoring. They just needed to be functional and look somewhat decent.
@@CKPowersports Exactly what I was thinking
Try some Muriatic Acid.. eats up concrete...
I wondered if a diesel hot pressure washer might have disolved the fine powder stain. I would have bought it stained over rattle can. Just my opinion
@1coppertop I tried that too. It worked a little better, but not much.
i don't think i wood buy any thing off you. your repairs are shit-e at best
Don’t paint over dirt, you just made a simple cleanup a massive problem
I wish it was just dirt. It was more of a white stain on everything. I spent 2 full days power washing those things.
Maybe a consult with a chemist or car detailer to figure out how to dissolve the residue?
Painting over dirt. Yeah that always goes well.
@user-ll4lf5go1m it wasn't dirt, just white stains on everything. I spent 2 full days power washing those 7 machines. That was the only option left to make them look half decent again
Rattle can rebuild eh? The masking on the rear flares was on point.😂
@Alwhite1929 sometimes that's what the job calls for.
I'd purchase one from you and you wouldn't have to clean it up but you live way to far away from me. That's a great deal.
@@robertlaird6746 I can always have one shipped. I know a guy now...
@@CKPowersports What would you sell me one for as is but running and driving without any issues and what state are you in? I'm in WA.
@@robertlaird6746I'm in nebraska. I'm honestly basically done going through them. I was asking 6000 on them locally.
@@CKPowersports Thank you but I think I'll pass due to the distance. I think I'll end up getting an old WWII Jeep instead for around the same price.
Tire kickers even on CZcams 🫠
Wanted to see more work on the machines. The whole video is spent on you talking. There isn't a part 2 for me.
Sorry about that. I'm no expert at making videos, but there is a part 2 up now that just shows repairs and stuff
Nice truck..
I would sure b interested in one?
They are for sale. They are located in lincoln nebraska. Just search ck powersports and give me a call.
I don't see them on your website....
@Alwhite1929 you are right. I haven't updated that yet. I did post a couple on my Facebook page though.
Post up prices as is!
Probably 5500 as is
@@CKPowersports is that the 4 seater or 2 seater?
@rapierce99 the 2 seater one. I was wanting 7000 on the 4 seater. It's way cleaner than the others
@@CKPowersports what year are they?
@@rapierce99 2016
Mining equipment gets used pretty hard. Check them over really good.
That's definitely for sure
With having that many of the same model you can buy your parts in bulk for a cheaper price.
What a great find. If interested in selling one please comment back. Looks like a fun restore project. I’m in Iowa.
They will all be for sale. Give me a call this week. 4026403892
What's the 4 seater going for?
7000
Vinegar will take the lime off
I tried some clr cleaner. It didn't do much. I also rented a heated power washer too. I think I need a pool of vinegar to let it soak in for awhile
@@CKPowersports spray it with vinegar in a 2 gallon sprayer. Add a little toilet bowl cleaner to help if you want. The vinegar and pressure washer will take it off.
@jeffwolfe9271 I'll definitely try that. I've got most of the chunks and scale off of it but lots of white scaling left on them.
@@CKPowersports let me know how it works or make a video about it
@@jeffwolfe9271 I did try it. It helped a little but didn't do much. I resorted to spray painting all the black pieces that had the white scaling on them.
I’ll give u 3k for one! Killer deal for 👍
I have absolutely no use for these things, but just lookin at them on the trailer, I see honest working little utes. I want one of those muddy puppies just because they look so cool covered in that dirty white mud. Looking forward to seeing follow up on these. And how used up they were. As in broken and tired.
So far they have been a giant pain to clean up. The limestone stuff is like cement stuck to everything.
@@CKPowersports That coating of limestone mud is one of the things I liked seeing on these things. No need to paint, strip or customize. They have their own cool look. They look properly USED! I guess I just like beat up old vehicles.
Dang I want one!!
They will be for sale
You absolutely stole those things lol
They have been the biggest pain to get cleaned up. The limestone stuff is like cement stuck everywhere and it's white so it's very obvious.
@@CKPowersports oh no doubt. Those must be same as the Polaris brutas machines back in the day?
@@Dontlieme yes they were. They don't have the pto shaft that I think most brutus models had
Nice machines. What is the riding location?
It's a private campground area near plattsmouth nebraska next to the platte river
6700 miles is a lot of miles on a atv for sure. Looks like hard miles.
Not around here. I'm in farming country where they get used daily. The most I've had was 30k on one before. I see them all the time with 10 to 15k miles
@@CKPowersports wow,thats unreal
@@yeahright302 the utvs get even more miles on them. I see rangers that get about 5000 miles a year on them all the time.
I genuinely was not expecting the issue to be no clutches when it first started up. That’s a new one for me😂
Me either. I don't know why somebody stole them off of it. I was shocked it started so easy but that's usually the way it goes on auction buys. There's usually a surprise.
@@CKPowersports I guess they came in ‘clutch’ for somebody haha
what engine is this?
It is a skidoo 670 engine from a 96 mxz
im subbing
i want one so bad
I hate noise!!!
Looks like you found some mud out there!
Just watched an earlier video of yours (walk-around, wheelie in oarking lot) and it was running much better....was that a lot cooler outdoor temperatures?
Yeah. It seems to run much better when the motor is still cold. In the sand it really bogged off the line. I need to take time and mess with the carbs. It definitely felt really rich in the sand.
It's been a number of years now, but I swapped an Arctic Cat ZR600EFI into one of ours. The EFI was so nice. I played with the stock Arctic Cat clutching some and made it better, but as is the stock setup worked great. Wheelies were easy enough if the traction was there.
Yeah the efi would be ideal. If I'd start from scratch I think I'd use an arctic cat f7 engine. I think the configuration of those engines would work really well.
Great video!
Thanks a lot!
Just bought one a month or so ago…would love to have a parter for it like you do…enjoy and make more videos…maintenance and mechanical stuff would be great
They are so much fun. Definitely follow along. I'll have more videos on them. I really need to do some carb running on the 670 one. The stock one has been completely bulletproof so far.
Dude love these videos! Please do more! I bought a 2015 570 wit 914 miles for $1,500 running and driving. Needed nothing mechanically. Just need things cleaned and serviced!
That's a good deal. Did you keep it or sell it? I definitely have some more videos like it in the works.
@@CKPowersports man I thought about flipping it, but it was extremely solid. It was always serviced at a Honda dealership. And the lady I bought it off of I’ve known for 20 years. I did also buy a 2006 sportsman 500 EFI with 2900 miles on it for $1000 and the only thing it needed was a starter Bendix. I’ve put almost 800 miles on that in the past year and it’s been awesome. Keep up the good work! If I lived a little closer to you. I’d probably buy something off of you.
Just came across your page and see your a fellow Nebraskan, one more subscriber now!
Thank you. Yup, I'm in lincoln.
I’m still currently watching the video, but I already know that I really enjoy it. I desperately want to get into Buying, Fixing, and Flipping Atvs, SXSs, and motorcycles for a living. I think it was meant for me to see this video, I see that even though I’m struggling to get started now, I shouldn’t give up on getting to fulfill my passion. Thank you for sharing this experience; you’ve given me hope once more
I appreciate the comment. Definitely start small. I started buying 3 wheelers for a couple hundred bucks. Usually you can find good deals on non running ones. Most of the time, they just need a carb clean to get going again. Take your profit and put it right into the next deal.
@@CKPowersports Thank you for the advice. I really appreciate you taking the time to enhance my perspective on how to go about this journey.
A little bit of noise….😉 more like a lot, but it’s ok. She’s been good.
I always wanted one of these you want to sell or trade it! Got a few nice newer model bikes! Need a off-roader?
I'm pretty attached to this one. I had 2 of them for sale about 2 years ago though. They are definitely worth having and ride and handle just as good as any new model machine.
I traded in a PowerBoost for a similar F-250 to the one you have because I worried about future repair bills on the hybrid. I really like diesel but I don't intend on towing maximum all the time, so I went with the 7.3 gas engine like yours. I also didn't want all the expense and maintenance. I like it so far, except for some reason the steering is vague, and is more pronounced on uneven roads. I have read that is a combination of the larger tires and the suspension setup Ford went with for 2023. I have to take it on for a recall on the rear camera so will tell them again about the steering. The other thing the gas engine is non-turbo, non-hybrid, non start-stop, port injected. I think the one thing I would do to the engine is put a catch-can on it. Otherwise an exhaust to open up that V8, and a Banks iDash setup. I agree with you, no need for a Pedal Monster. If Ford Performance came out with a factory supported tune I would go with that, but otherwise no aftermarket stuff.
I contemplated the powerboost also but also feared the reliability and complexity of it. I definitely agree with the steering. I have an alignment appointment this week to look at that. The alignment is definitely off right now on it and it seems to have a good amount of bump steer. I'm not sure if that's a result of the bigger wider tires or not though. Supposedly this one had also had a level kit added to it by the previous owner. My only real complaint so far is the steering, but I think that should be fixable.
This is for everyone, wouldn't it be easier to just say 445.
I think it's all about that marketing. I think most people can't relate to cubic inches anymore.
Definitely would help a bunch if you changed clutch springs... that would solve most of bogging problem... also the pipe on machine could be affecting bogging (low /med range pipe vs med/high pipe... (2 stroke is sensitive to which pipes you are running) Jetting could also be issue... 2 stroke jetted for cold (sled engine) will not run worth a crap in the warm... From an atv/sled shop owner
It definitely felt more like a carb issue. I have a lot of snowmobiles too and it just felt like it was fouling a plug most of the time, especially after it got fully warm. It was having issues way before the power band. This has jetski carbs on it also, not the stock sled ones. Follow along though. I'll get it dialed in soon and it will be a true ripper.
@CKPowersports definitely will keep following... I love these kinds of builds... keep at it ... when it's done that thing is going to be a blast...
@RAM-19 it's a super fun machine. On pavement it will wheelie with ease. This was my first real test with it, and unfortunately, it disappointed me.
these things are so cool and look so fun wish i could find one thats not a wreck
The pilots are pretty hard to find. I do have a cool 250 odyssey that I haven't touched yet if you need a project.
@@CKPowersports if its straight frame I would love to get one going in in WA so distance might be a B
@oler777 it actually has an aftermarket cage. It was an old flat track racer. If you check out my other videos I have one showing a package of odysseys I bought. It's the hooters one.
@@CKPowersports i found the video that's actually a pretty cool ride. What would you want for it?
@oler777 probably 1000. The motor is currently stuck but I have another motor that's free but is low compression. My intention was to get it going again
yay im the first one to comment
Hopefully not the last one too
@@CKPowersports hopefully btw i got a 92 gs500e swapped kawasaki mojave 250 you guys should check it out when i get it running again….
LOL Who'd have thought? I guess in your defense, The chances of physically running into another Scrambler 250R/ES in the wild to compare was *zero* unless you're going to one of them there Trike Orgys. I wonder if whoever installed the forks "backawards" maybe did so on purpose in the late 80's since "this is how Dirt Bikes come now!" or it was just assembled out of some greasey totes & cardboard boxes like most of the "Super Rare" Production Trikes we rarely see. That thing sounds AWESOME! A lot better than my Polaris 500 4-Stroke Boat Anchor.
Yeah, it was definitely weird. The guy I got it from was another collector that actually had another one and he didn't even realize it either. The handling is night and day better though.
Glad that worked !
It was night and day different
😅Nice endin 🎉
I know. It was very unfortunate. Stay tuned I'll have a video fixing it.
what do you think your budget should be, if someone looking to do this?
There's no magic number. You can buy plenty of nonrunning machines for 500 to 1000. That's the easiest way to start.
