Hi Ive looked at alot of these conversions and thought there has to be a transmission with less drag that will fit a large motor like a 1717 centrally in the frame.. So im thinking to throw it out and use and associated rival mt8 Cetner diff setup. on a 3dp mount into the savage chassis, U can get youy hands on drive shafts of different lengths. That does away with all the gear box mods and allow a larger longer motor will drop right into a central location, The=is will make the setup like most competition buggy bashers ....

Did it make any difference for bashing?

Hello! Thanks for the video, it helped a lot. I retired and surprised myself with a VRX 1/10 4WD Monster Truck kit.😜 I built in a sensorless brushless ESC and a sensorless brushless motor. The problem was that the wheels were spinning backwards. The ESC does not know how to change the direction of rotation. This was only recommended by turning the gear 180 degrees in the differential. Based on your video, I now know how and what to rotate.😁 Thank you and good health! Csaba from Hungary.

@shawnwilkinsen Why is it you need to remove existing spurs amd just make it to single speed, or can it just be left alone as is with out making any new changes?

Got the brushless vantage couple of weeks ago and not much on it. Your video helped immensely as did similar damage to yours but was internal gear and missing shaft and shaft damage when I put carnage wheels on it and went bashing. Was a tad daunting till I repaired mine while watching yours. Great that you did it in real time and used hand tools so I could keep up. Thanks and Keep up the great work.

Hi mate just a question don't no if u can help but I snapped my rear suspension holders so upgraded them with the aluminium ones, since I have the holder on the back outside is fine but the one on the inside on the gear side it seems to sit high on the gear housing so my suspension arms are higher on that side than the back so they slope down and are not straight, I've had a friend look aswell and it's all on right, when looking at the front suspension holders they seem to not sit as high on the front housing and the little arms that the straight pins go into seem lower so it sits straight.....the back inside one has higher arms than the back outside one so it slopes I'm really really confused and can't get it straight I've even tried the front ones on the back but the don't fit as the sink holes are further apart on the back so the front ones don't fit..... Sorry for the long message just I'm stuck and confused.

Note to everyone you do not need to remove the bumper and don’t give me it’s easier tock all of 3 minutes and why would you remove 4 screws when you only need to remove 3 all I can say is northerners must find it hard

I'm thinking of doing this conversion. I was going to keep it nitro but it's such a pain to find parts and with all the maintenance it's just not worth. My neighbors will definitely appreciate me retiring the old big block lol

You know if you buy a metal stud. Or metal stud track. 2x4. You can cut it up and make way better battery trays and use it for all sorts of stuff one stud will last you have a lifetime. Building materials are up right now but it's going to be more than $5 for a 2x4 8'metal stud. I'm in drywall so I have a bunch of it laying around I use it for all sorts of shit but it would make a way better battery tray and can screw it right on. With self tapping screws

Will these parts work on the x 4.1? I love the nitro, but I'm done with the mess. I can't find any sort of chassis comparison between the x 4.1 and 4.6. But yours looks identical.

so i was inspired by this build and collected all the parts, im mounting the battery trays currently and my nitro has a brake arm sticking out one side of the transmission. did yours not have this or did you do away with it and i missed it?

I’m super Interested to do something like this as I have a savage with no engine. How much did all the parts cost as I’m wondering if it’s cheaper to go with a new engine?

To make it have a better traction and be more stable put lower/shorter shocks! it will make it wider and it will have better grip! "Approx 140mm". Also i recommend do NOT run on 6S lipo because there is a big chance to burn the ESC!

Overall do you recommend the Carnage? I have the Maverick Quantum Flux and it's very poor. I only use it in the park and dont jump or crash it but it's still got wobbly wheels and drive shafts. Running the Carnage on a 2s lipo then putting a mild brushless in when then 550 motor goes kaput would be my intention. Maverick parts costs almost 10 times the price of ftx parts I've noticed. Driveshafts do anyway!

It's very unfortunate they made such promising charger and yet the C150/C240 can't be calibrated and as such run the risk of undercharging or overcharging batteries.. These should not be purchased (as I learned after the fact). Look for something that can be calibrated / adjusted.

I’d love to know how much rebound you build your shocks with bud as they bounce sooo sweet just like a savage should and what oil weight did you go with if you recall🤪✅🙏🏿 😳 and I’d just double check again if the o rings in the front N rear diff outs are in also as I hear a little bit of clicking 😉

Did you ever sort out the front left driveshaft as it was bent on the short test 😳

Hi , can you help me with a thing, i got a ftx carnage and i will like to upgrade the esc and the motor..i found a combo from hobbywing max10 esc and 5400kv motor the only thing what i dont know is if this will get super hot and if is better to go for a lower kv instead ?
