The biggest problem I see people have is they misconstrue screaming as ALWAYS meaning hate and anger. Like there’s more emotions than that when someone screams. You’ve never seen a movie where someone screams in pain and sorrow?

You guys really need to show them stuff with mixed clean and heavy vocals. Architects older sing screaming has been a pretty good weap- I mean tool that I've been able to show people with :D

What most people don’t understand about metal music is it’s not “angry music”, a lot of times (like most this list) it can bring a grown man to tears. It’s the emotion. And letting go. Another thing is how shocked people get when you tell them how many bands are Christian metal bands where lyrics are about Jesus and scripture lol

apart from bad omens you are going too heavy for non beginners imo. maybe thats why so often they are shook. maybe showing people with no rock/metal history more of falling in reverse, bring me the horizon, the plot in you, architects, bad omen etc, would be a bit softer

Everyone's here is a metal fan. I consider myself to be a somewhat metal enjoyer because I only like a certain type of metal. Most non metal fan have problem with the screaming. I'm having a problem with the beat? I guess. I don't really enjoy those super fast gunfire-like type of instrumental. I actually really want to get into more niche metal but so far, I could only enjoy iron maiden, metallica and alcest (I know this is technically isn't pure metal, more like blackgaze) I also don't really like metal songs that has a clear switch between melodic and screaming/instrumental. The melodic part kinda sounds underwhelming. It feels like it doesn't belong there. Btw I would love some recs based on what I already like.
