Here are the best examples of how to get off to a great start when playing Star Trek Next Generation. I generally elect to chase a quick Borg multiball (option 1), but if I'm feeling frisky I'll start with missions (Search the Galaxy & Battlesim in quick succession). And no, before you ask, that little launch nudging trick to light locks is not a cheat or a bug. The very same thing happens on a...

Despite missing an astounding amount of shots along the way, this turned out to be a pretty solid ball 1 and a perfect start to a high scoring game of Attack from Mars. Although this isn't really me playing at my best (well, it probably is me recovering fumbles at my best) this clip does clearly demonstrate my overall strategy for this game. One of my better turns on the Pinball FX version of Star Trek Next Generation, scoring 162 Billion. what doom game is on par with arkham knights graphics?
This is the best tribute, edit or whatever you wanna call it for Doom Eternal. Thank you for your work bro.🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for the video! I've been struggling trying to pull these real life techniques in the game. I kept seeing your scores and trying to aim higher and higher, I can just barely squeeze into the top 100 on Hurricane and Fun House and lower 100s on other Williams tables. I don't know how the hell you got so high on CFTBL best I can do is hit move your car over and over.
You're welcome. The main secret to scores like that in CFTBL is to multiply jackpot scores during multiball with the left ramp before trying to score any jackpots. Catch one ball with the left flipper and use the right to keep hitting that ramp until 4x is up, then start hitting jackpots. I do much better in this game if I play slow and methodically, more so than just about any other
Just got this table in the FX sale and it is BRUTAL 😅 lots of fun when you get on a run though
god i wish that were me
I'm working on a strategy guide for this table that I'm pretty sure a lot of players will find very helpful, especially with respect to amassing bigger scores. Also includes a couple of very useful tricks that I didn't show off in this clip. Should be ready to go in a couple of weeks
bro this game was released 4 years ago
lol
Still slaps
Still rocking. Also, it's not even that old...
Yeah, I would have made this clip years ago if I had the hardware and software available to do it, but up until just recently I didn't. To make a clip like this one needs Doom to run at ultra nightmare graphics while recording at 4k at a minimum of 120fps, and editing software that will let you work with 120 fps footage
And?
The Jackpot and Super Jackpot announcements in this are just the best. They guy sound so outrageously enthusiatic.
Can you do a comparison between classic and pro on pinball fx please I been playing on pro
Honestly I don't think there's a whole lot to compare or discuss when it comes to pro mode vs classic. Pro mode is just "tournament mode" with a steeper playfield. I do think it's great for practice and honing reflexes and in some ways I prefer it, but because Zen decided to only provide it with tournament mode settings, the tables kind of become a shell of their former selves. The moment to moment on-ball play is great but there's less depth to the overall game once you strip the rules with tourney settings. I would like to see a pro mode with regular ruleset as well as tournament mode, but I'm not holding my breath for anything Williams related from Zen whatsoever.
My man is living in the Pinball FX equivalent of 2342.
Amazing 😮
Yeah, sometimes you just get on a roll :-)
Insane skills bro.
Thanks mate. That's years of experience honed on real machines manifest on a simulation. I think it speaks pretty highly of Zen's accomplishments in recreating these as faithfully as they have
Those loop passes are just dead bounces. a true loop pass has you drop the flipper just before the ball gets to it, which deadens some of the momentum, and gives you a clean catch on the other flipper. They are wonky on fx, but you can use one to take out the force field super skills hot in AFM, which is a famous table for loop passes
Yeah, you're probably right about that. Funny, after I published it and watched it back I saw another issue with them and regretted not fleshing that out a little more. I kinda regret leaving out a couple of tricks as well so I might do a fuller version soon and if so I'll try to redeem myself
I last about 2 min on this brutal table. Lots of outlane and middle drains too.
Yeah, it's tough for sure. Really got to have your eye in for STNG because missed shots are usually punished!
Amazing, thank you.
You're welcome, glad you enjoyed it

Captain's Log supplemental: Our experince in the final frontier was most remarkable.
How are you avoiding tilt?
By trying my best to consider the tilt bulb timeout duration and being aware of how many tilt warnings I have already generated. Same way I try to avoid tilting on a real machine
Really nice technique! I knew some of these but others I didn't. I'll have to practice some of them and hope I can break my last big high score for TNG. I peaked and can't seem to crack it again :(
Thanks for the comments. STNG is a tough nut to crack, struggling to crack my own PB as well. One of the hardest pinnies ever made, which makes it my favourite. This might help give you a few ideas: czcams.com/video/aTl-4w5g4_U/video.html
@@scootinlootinnshootin683 Thanks for the response man. Since I left this comment I finally beat my old high score but only by a 100 million or so; I didn't even move up the list lmao if you scroll down from your #1 spot you'll see me sitting at #25 😆 I'm trying though. I came real close to getting my second Final Frontier!
What’s your setup?? Are you on pc just using keyboard?
I'm on PC and use a modified X-Arcade Tank Stick which does a respectable job of simulating playing a real machine. I did try a keyboard setup initially but I play much better with a tank stick
@@scootinlootinnshootin683 thanks so much! Just got into Pinball pretty recently (specifically pinball FX)and have been playing on Xbox… lol. The flipper lag as well as having so little/no control to do micro flips and precise movements because of the Xbox triggers is getting a frustrating. I’ve been wanting to find something like that X Arcade Stick so I can move over to pc and have a more realistic playing experience for a while now. Anyways, thanks so much for the response!
Thank you . Really impressive... I am wondering if you ever considered trying it out in VR ? It will give you some extra immersion into Your game play which brings you even closer to a real time experience. Pinball FX was not interesting for me until it got finally a perfect VR implementation. Look at this : czcams.com/video/BfWus0GRQWU/video.html
Nice work. Getting 3 powerballs in to the pyramid almost at once was pretty cool.
impressive, very well done.
Amazing... :-O
Great video
Good lord. How many years have you been playing pinball seriously, would you say? You have very impressive skills. I always see your gamertag at the top of the leaderboards on FX haha.
I spent a ridiculous amount of time in amusement arcades as a kid, probably started playing when I was 10 years old. I played competitively for almost a decade and worked as a pinball tech for a few years. I've also owned a few machines of my own. I took a big old break from it for a couple of decades but Pinball FX sucked me back in. I'm 52 years old now. So yeah, I've played way more than my fair share :-)
Dude the way you (don't) shoot at the piano blew my mind. It's hilarious! I'll do so much better now
Yeah I went through a phase of "Piano Bad" for a bit although since this game I decided I should just practice that shot and stop missing it. I have made a few adjustments to my approach to TZ more recently. I'm still not focusing on the piano much, but I'm not ruling it out either. My new tactic only incorporates a small change, but it has big practical application in numerous modes, especially Powerball mball. Its much easier demonstrated than explained so I'll upload a new clip of TZ soon so you can see what I've started doing differently.
Mind you, you need to be able to do it without generating tilt warnings.
@@w0mblemania I can simply use the dpad now, as long as it's not frequent, it doesn't matter how hard you press

how many times can u "tilt" a machine or how often before it becomes tilted? i swea i tilted like 3 times and it goes off not even fast, then others i do like 6 tilts in around same time i fee like.
I've never timed the tilt warning cool down period, but I'm guessing it's around 15 - 10 seconds. You'll get 3 warnings before the next nudge gives a tilt
thanks!@@scootinlootinnshootin683
Thank you!!
great score but why when you nudge , you haven't danger/warning , it's normal on this version ?
You don't get a warning for a single nudge unless you do a second nudge within a few seconds. Pro mode is a lot stricter

Absolutely amazing gameplay! I saw your highscore on the Creature From The Black Lagoon table and found it very cool that your name is at the 1st place with such a high score. :) Well done!
Thanks. I use to own a real STNG machine, and you should have seen me play that. Highest score on the real thing was 266 billion. I would have beaten that score on the Pin FX version if Zen hadn't messed with the Extra Ball ruleset, which essentially removes at least half of the available EBs.
@@scootinlootinnshootin683 Nice, have you tried out the Pro mode in Pinball FX at all? I once tried it, but it was too brutal for me.
@@PixelPulsePlayer Yep, started playing pro mode a few weeks back and have mixed feelings on it. I actually like the speed of it (which actually makes some aspects of some tables easier), but what I don't like is that pro mode essentially removes a lot of the potential strategies, because there are no EBs and certain game modes and scoring shots simply don't work the same way. Pro mode is really just "tournament mode". I'd like to see the same physics / ball speed, but without EBs etc removed, and without the outlanes maxed out. If you play pro mode enough and then go back to classic, it feels slow, sluggish and sleepy. In my ideal word classic would play more like pro mode (perhaps not quite as fast) but with all rules in place and outlane posts set at the midway point. I really shouldn't say things like that though, because whenever I say something I'd like to see, Zen usually go off and do the exact opposite
What is this sorcery? Absolutely incredible.
Thanks. That's years and years of pinball experience and ingrained muscle memory translated to digital pinball. Its a testament to how well Zen have created a simulation that mimics the real thing. Pretty much every technique shown works much the same way on a real machine, with a similar degree of difficulty (except for the nudge pass, which is infinitely easier with digital pinball).

That's "The Power" magnet in Adams Family, which makes the ball very tricky to predict and handle during multiball and Seance modes. Its the very worst part of that game.
