Star Trek Next Gen, Pinball FX, Full Game, 160 Billion

  • One of my better turns on the Pinball FX version of Star Trek Next Generation, scoring 162 Billion. I really should have beaten my current highest score here (just over 210 Billion) but I dropped the second ball without getting any EBs. I also choked right at the end with a third ball as well, just one mission away from the 3rd Final Frontier.
    Despite a few fumbles this is a pretty good representation of how I go about playing this table. There's a good chance you'll learn a few tricks by watching this. You'll probably be surprised where a lot of the score comes from (spoiler: watch the spinner values)

    Absolutely amazing gameplay! I saw your highscore on the Creature From The Black Lagoon table and found it very cool that your name is at the 1st place with such a high score. :) Well done!

      Thanks. I use to own a real STNG machine, and you should have seen me play that. Highest score on the real thing was 266 billion. I would have beaten that score on the Pin FX version if Zen hadn't messed with the Extra Ball ruleset, which essentially removes at least half of the available EBs.

      @@scootinlootinnshootin683 Nice, have you tried out the Pro mode in Pinball FX at all? I once tried it, but it was too brutal for me.

      @@PixelPulsePlayer Yep, started playing pro mode a few weeks back and have mixed feelings on it. I actually like the speed of it (which actually makes some aspects of some tables easier), but what I don't like is that pro mode essentially removes a lot of the potential strategies, because there are no EBs and certain game modes and scoring shots simply don't work the same way. Pro mode is really just "tournament mode". I'd like to see the same physics / ball speed, but without EBs etc removed, and without the outlanes maxed out.
      If you play pro mode enough and then go back to classic, it feels slow, sluggish and sleepy. In my ideal word classic would play more like pro mode (perhaps not quite as fast) but with all rules in place and outlane posts set at the midway point.
      I really shouldn't say things like that though, because whenever I say something I'd like to see, Zen usually go off and do the exact opposite

    I last about 2 min on this brutal table. Lots of outlane and middle drains too.

      Yeah, it's tough for sure. Really got to have your eye in for STNG because missed shots are usually punished!

      That's decades of experience playing real Pinball translated to a simulation you're looking at there. It amazes me how well the skills I developed on the real thing translates to Pinball FX, which I think is a big credit to Zen. ;-)

      I have played real pinball for many years myself but can’t seem to get the hang of virtual pinball.. any advice? loved this video man !!

      @@kimbeewell I came into digital pinball after years of playing the real thing and struggled at first trying to use a keyboard or game controller because they didn't feel anything like the real thing. So I bought an X-Arcade Tank Stick, which made a big difference and made it feel more like playing pinball. Its not perfect and I had to make a few small mods to it but it did make a big difference in my results.

      I'm working on a strategy guide for this table that I'm pretty sure a lot of players will find very helpful, especially with respect to amassing bigger scores. Also includes a couple of very useful tricks that I didn't show off in this clip. Should be ready to go in a couple of weeks

    great score but why when you nudge , you haven't danger/warning , it's normal on this version ?

    • @scootinlootinnshootin683
      @scootinlootinnshootin683  Před 8 měsíci

      You don't get a warning for a single nudge unless you do a second nudge within a few seconds. Pro mode is a lot stricter

    How are you avoiding tilt?

    • @scootinlootinnshootin683
      @scootinlootinnshootin683  Před 3 měsíci

      By trying my best to consider the tilt bulb timeout duration and being aware of how many tilt warnings I have already generated. Same way I try to avoid tilting on a real machine
