Catch and Prepare Octopus Galician Style
Galician Style Octopus or pulpo a la gallega is a dish with a long history. Originating from the Galician region in the North West of Spain it is traditionally a simple preparation of Octopus, Potato, Olive Oil and Paprika. You'll find It in many Spanish or tapas restaurants around the world. Today though I'm going to try something a little different. I'll show you how I like to catch Octopus. Free diving and searching around the rocky reefs of the NSW coast in Australia I'll show you all the tricks I've learnt of how to find and catch Octopus. Heading into the kitchen I'll show you the best ways to make your Octopus tender, no kiwi fruit or milk. Freezing is how you get the most tender octopus. Then I'll be making my own modern take on the classic dish.

I’m sure it would help a little mate, found it helped with cuttlefish. Main thing for squid I think though is to make sure you don’t overcook it

I catch these all the time but have been throwing them back because of the bones.. thanks for the how to on making them into something you can eat... you make it look easy removing the bones but it's a lot harder than it looks... FYI.. old timers call these fish "poor mans lobster" which gives you an idea of their taste....
