I dropped $10,000 in parts on my E91 335 build!

In this video I unbox parts that have arrived for the car, and service the transmission and transfer case. This is my 2009 E91 N54 swapped wagon. I blew up the turbos in February, and while the car was down decided to service pretty much everything I could. I drain the transmission fluid and changed out the solenoids. I also tackle the annoying transferase mount / bushing replacement.

I blew the rear turbo on my n54 swapped e91 wagon. The coupler on the turbo outlets had failed a few months ago, and the replacement coupler I installed slipped off when I launched the car. I believe this caused the rear turbo to overspill destroying the oil seal and the turbo.

Sometimes when you jump the car (especially if you jump off the battery and not the posts in the engine bay) you can fry the CAS or FRM modules. Try scanning the car and see which modules aren’t responding. You’ll probably have to pull them and take them to someone to get them repaired / cloned. Hope this helps!

The valve cover gasket is a bastard. Cracked the valve cover first time I did that job… tried closing it up and sealing with high temp epoxy stuff. Didn’t work. Had to order a new cover for $500 and do it again. It sucked but no leaks from there anymore! X3 has had issues starting lately. Battery isn’t the issue, alternator testing good (although it wasn’t charging a few days ago), starter working fine (for now). Had to get it towed home after which it started to work. Watching this, and other videos, I suspect the ground strap is going bad and just got shaken back into place during the tow. Would explain the battery not charging too! Gonna get under there today and see…

Three wires. Upshift, downshift and ground. Ground goes to the steering wheel ground (if I recall correctly) 1 is upshift, the other downshift.
