Hi! super congrats for video, May you said me if you have used NGK Iridium LMAR8BI-9 ?? May you said me the specific NGK model detail? thaaaankssssss
I do not know. Just iridium for T7
Franco Acerbis products are amazing!
Well done.
Uff thats not a thing of 10 Minutes :D Thanks for the Video
Never never showed what to do with the original vent pipe?
Thank you, that was great! 🎉
Fantastic!! From Australia!!
Impossible to service front bearing with center stand installed Note linkage not removed
Really good!
Thanks for the info, is the wifey happy with the handling of the T7 after lowering ? did it perform ok after loading it up with weight ?
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 so helpful
Greetings from philippines. How about the side stand did you change it? If yes? What brand is that?
We cut it and weld the feet back again
Have you lowered your folks and fitting the acerbis 23ltr tank will the handle bars be hitting the tank
The fitting of the handguards just touch the Acerbis.
@OumboukTravelAdventures my folks have been lowered 20mm will that be a problem
@@paulneuss5384 i cannot tell that . You have to check in practice
Top, great !
Can u send the link for the spark plugs? There is alot of choices i get confused
Just take iridium doe T7 and is ok
Thank you for helpfull video.
Hello, can you give me the link where I can buy the short side stand, thank you.
We cut the Standard ourselves
Thank you @@OumboukTravelAdventures
Nicely done! Howdy from Texas. Thanks
Thank you for the tip to clean the tank.
thank you, helped so much
Thanks! Very clear! Just lowered my T7 although I'm 178cm, just to help me when off-road becomes challenging
Are you standing on both feet when you are on the street ?
Im curious, You still riding the T7's? Would it not be easier to buy VStrom 250's?
No the T7 will stay for many more years
@@OumboukTravelAdventures250🤣🤣🤣
Sei stata Molllto utile, grazie
Thank you! I think with my 1.75cm standart t700 - 👍👍👍
One question please. Did it lower back with a spring change or just a link change? And a second question. Has the bike been lowered just to the saddle height or has the engine also been lowered? Thanks
Only saddle and the set consist of only links die behind
@@OumboukTravelAdventures Thanks
The Acerbis tank looks like a very good solution. Lighter weight, roughly the same external dimensions as the factory unit, and substantially more capacity. Cheers
How long would you say it takes from start until finish?
When you have done it once the second time can be in one hour
When you have done it once the second time can be in one hour
Thanks 🙏
Looks very easy compared to y old KTM 1190 adventure 😂
How did you empty the gas after cleaning the new tank?
Just through the bottom because it is open there
Hi, can you post a link to the products?
Must go to hyperpro website tot can find it under Tenere 700
So you changed the back and front springs only or did you change the links also? Because on Hyperpro website it mentions a lowering of 4cms only… how did you get 6?
@@user-pz3wt7zy3f yes another two with the links
Perfect! And the links are oem or any aftermarket brand? Thank you for your help!🙏
And did you replace also the side kick?
I am impressed…but sh!t what a process 😳
Should be same as Touratech kit?? If you maintained full suspension, should not the height stance, except when sitting on the bike, remained the same?? Why Is the bike, visibly, significantly lower, with out rider sitting on the bike??
The bike is lowered with still full suspension
@@OumboukTravelAdventures yes,but why is it visibly lower when compared to the standard bike. Without a rider sitting on the bikes, they should be of same height. Then when someone sits on the one with progressive lowering springs, then the bike will sit lower, and not without rider
@@davidmallia628 the bike is lower. But with the springs has the same suspension.
@@OumboukTravelAdventures ok, now I understand. I had the wrong impression, then.
I was wondering about Touratech (made by Hyperbro suspensions, of Holland, for Touratech)lowering spring, with lowering link. If I am correct, these springs keep the bike at the same height but, with weight, compress easily at first, but thereafter become, progressively, stiffer for the same performance as the standard. springs. It lowers the bike by 35mm, with no adjustment of the front fork clamping. With lowering seat you can obtain another 20mm to a total of 55mm, lowering the tenere700 to 820mm, from 875mm. Touratech even claims enhanced performance, over the standard. Has anyone experience of this?
maybe a stupid question but do you consider inseam from crotch to the floor or until the end of the the ankle?
From the floor
@@OumboukTravelAdventures thank you for the answer. What is your inseam. I'm 32" and I'm balls of my feet but can't decide if lowering wouldn't have a negative effect on suspension. Do you feel any negative experience on suspension after loading?
@@user-ht3uo9ir6m the lowering has no effect on riding
Thanks for posting. I install mine tomorrow. I also bought the locking cap but hear they are very problematic. Any thoughts on the locking cap? I am leaning towards using the vented cap it came with. Thanks for any feedback.
Tnks for comment. We have not any issue with the vented cap
Following my previous comment and for anyone contemplating doing this: I have a small but quite well equipped workshop and with a lap top on my work bench, got set into the task of my plug swap. I followed this tutorial step by step and you can be assured that every necessary step is covered. I just have to say that I found the HT coils a lot harder to remove than Oumbouk Travel man did and had to make a little lasso from 6mm nylon rope so's I could wiggle the coil with my right hand while pulling upwards on the rope from the top. Also, I found getting the cable holder removed then, later, back in place was a real fiddle. All that being said though, this is a 1st class set of instructions and I recommend Oumbouk Travel Adventures method compared to some others that I considered on CZcams.
Many thanks on your kind words and out video helped you
Easy to follow covering every aspect of the procedure. Thanks! Saved me a lot of trial (and error)
Amigo! Excelente video. Gracias. Saludos desde Durango México 🇲🇽
Thank you so much for sharing thi
Vielen Dank für das Zeigen. Da werde ich etwas Zeit einplanen müssen.
Usefull tutorial. Thanks!
The T7 is already a pretty top heavy bike, does this worsen the situation?
That depends what you ride. Hard enduro not recommend. But long distance travel no problem.
@@OumboukTravelAdventures Indeed
This is nothing. Some years back my buddy called me to help him change plugs on his Kawasaki Z800e. Turned out the whole engine had to be lowered from the frame to access the plugs! In the end he took it to the dealership to do it. Some engineering geniuses there at Kawasaki
Thank you for the video! I just bought a 2023 Tenere and am short like your wife so I've been searching for ways to lower the bike.
Very nice video, what is the rider’s height?
165 cm
All nice and stuff, but what about rebuilding the bike? Would have been nice to show that as well.
One little problem, you have to lub the bolts too. Even though the bushing (bus, as you called them) do not rotate around the bolt, water can get in there and rust the bolts. I have seen it happen myself on my friend's T7, and there are videos in you tube that shows rusted bolts. I'll put a link to a video that shows the rusted bolts. Go to 7:52 on that video to see the rusted bolts. A little but of grease on the bolt's body reduces or prevents rust. You place the grease on the bolt, not the inside of the bushing. If you lub the inside of the bushing, when you push the bolt through the threats will end up with grease on them. Not good! You want the threats to be 100% oil and grease free so that when you torque the bolts the friction between the bolt's threats and the threats in the nuts is enough to prevent the nuts from losing. Which is the main part about torquing things. Plus you can over torque things since the friction between those two surfaces is reduced. In essence, you md up with a false torque reading. Well, that is if you are one of those persons (like me) that like to do things correctly and by the book and actually use torque wrenches. Anyway, The point is to lub the bolt body and then push them through. I've also noticed how many people lub the bushings of the link arms and so on, but never lub the swing arm too. When I did this service on my T7, I also remove the swing arm to clean and lub it. Might has well, you have everything else off. By the way, I liked how you called your wife (I assume that's your wife) your assistant. 😂 Cute! Rusted volts video: czcams.com/video/2mpFs_4Z-aE/video.html
I installed this yesterday, filled the Acerbis and rode around just a little bit. I am noticing some condensation building on the outsides of the bank - it's vapor and smells of gas. I can't find other people saying this same thing. Is this normal?
We have it now for a year and we do not have that noticed
Dag meneer. Heb namelijk een vraag voel je ook eindigen verschil tussen de oude tank in de nieuwe tank qua als je stopt bij de stoplicht bijvoorbeeld...
Nee dat voel je niet
Hi. Do you have any experiences if there will be fuel left in the sides pockets so that the fuel pump isn't able to run the tank dry? Greetings, Stefan.
Hi thks for your message. I am enthusiastic follower of your channel. To get to your question we did not use it till the end. Mostly there is approx 3 liter left when we tank. So we have to try it once
@@OumboukTravelAdventures Looks like T7 riders follow each other ;-) For my next adventure I gonna need a lot of fuel in remote desert areas. So the 1 million dollar question is if the Acerbis really uses its capacity or not. If it only uses 4 or 5 Liters instead of 6l than you could go with a 5l fuel bladder or plastic bottles... Greetings from Germany.
