I loved running this line!!
I was on that SD-80 MAC, at Wyandotte, Mi. Had to pick-up 5 hi- cube cars @ (Warner Yard) Monroe, Mi. Then on to Toledo.
River rouge was always my favorite yard to work in, I got to service the 80” Great Lakes steel mill pulling coils, and other industries down the short and long marsh tracks, plus I don’t know if they still hump cars there but I was pretty good at getting the old heads an early quit by having the switches ready for each cut of cars we “kicked” into each track.
Why Amtrak don't use this kind of cars, I think that they should be better than amfleet cars.
I love how Norfolk Southern has a tribute to these DC to AC locos with their AC rebuilds.

reporting Mark's NYC went to csx. but you fail to mention that reporting Mark's PRR went to Norfolk southern. and I don't think you remember the winters of 1976 or 1977 ?those where the worst in conrail history. ad the facts that conrail was in much worse condition in those years.
Of course this video is made worse by the lack of train information. No train symbols are given and we have to wonder where the train is headed or where it came from
He could only narrate the script that was written. Wasn't his fault for getting any locations wrong
The narration used to be better in the original VHS release. Not sure how it got all screwed up in the DVD release. Plus Bob Carrera pronounced Gallitzin right in the VHS
I have the original VHS and recall the same screwups - train direction errors, GE/EMD misidentification, and the horrendous GAL-its-son pronunciation.

Man. Those C30-7`s are great. I remember having those units on my trains in the PRB. They are amazing units they can pull a train. Man can they pull a train. I think I will have to buy some in BN colors.

One of my favorite roads, I,ve got a very nice CR Atlas GP38-2 8234. I superdetailed it, and it looks great. I've also got a detailed dummy unit in the works CR SD40-2 6410 to go with 8234, and a matching caboose with a brakeman riding the back. You have an awesome fleet.
After watching all 7 parts of this video, I can honestly say, Conrail gave us quite the show in its final winter. Thank you to all the Conrail crews who worked hard to keep the trains running despite all odds. R.I.P. Conrail 1976 - 1999 You may be gone, but your memory lives on through every Conrail railfan and I'm proud to say I'm one of them.
Thanks but they really ran us into the ground those last couple years when I was probably one of the last few actually employed by conrail right when the takeover was happening. Wish I would’ve stuck with it looking back but hey life happens.
