I'm sorry but you lost me when you said DS2 was good and that you didn't like DS3. It's like all I heard was white noise for the rest of the video. I love lies of P, but the pain that DS2 put me through is the only thing I actually remember from my playthrouh. You may be right in calling it a good game I don't care if its been 9 years, i'm never going through that pain again

Lol i had dark souls on steam years ago but never got into it cause something just seemed so confusing about it than my pc broke, got an xbox and am so glad this game is on game pass and got me into these kinda games

Honestly Lies of P is my first Souls-like and that's mostly because. The idea of dark souls turned me off I mean a game that you died over and over again with near impossible boss fights didn't sound appealing to me. But few days ago well I was bored I was looking through games on my Xbox and saw Lies of P and I didn't know what it was about so I downloaded it and started playing it. Now I just got passed Fuoco and I have no interest in stopping now

as a kid I asked santa for the first Rainbow Six game for n64 for one christmas, and I guess the elves ran out because I got Winback instead. I was kinda disappointed at first, obviously since I didn't know anything about this game. But after popping it in I fell in love with it and played it to death. Later on I actually got R6 and also played it a lot but this one came on top hahaha.

For me ds 3 is absolute fucking garbage. All it did was made me appreciate ds 2 more than i used too.

This game is a crime! After all masterpieces I've played, Lies of P still managed to stole a part of my heart pushing away other games from there. I've played it three times and will play the fourth time when DLC come out. And I'm not a big fan of replaying games. The only other games that I played twice are Alan Wake and Dishonored

100% on this critique! This game is the Amber Heard of relationships. It starts off okay; but then you get to Pontiff and it's downhill from there. Bullshit bosses that heavily rely on RNG? And not to mention the DLC. My God, what a misery fest!

This is the first game I got all the achievements on in 10 years.

This game is IT. FromSoft could actually learn a ton from this. I loved Elden Ring, but it became such a slog to complete, and I feel like I probably missed more than I found, despite scouring every inch of the world over and over. It made me not want to immediately dive into NG+ because I felt like I didn't even know where to begin after several hundred hours of playing. Lies of P was the exact opposite. While I know I missed some things, I felt motivated to immediately jump back in and seek them out. It's a true fcking masterpiece, and that feels like a dramatic understatement. If Chef's Kiss were a game, it would be Lies of P.

so, im still in the process of watching this video but what i will say so far. i understand where your coming from with the quest quality of life. but i disagree with it. i like the obscureness of dark souls quests. it encourages back tracking which was so vital in ds1. i really like lies of p so far. i just beat the king of puppets. but i still dont think they will top from soft for me. even though i was heavily dissapointed by elden ring. i still consider them goats

man i hate souls like fans who say that you shouldn’t play the game if you “gut” the difficulty of the game. do you know how many of my friends i turned into souls like fans because i cheated for them? i can play these games sl 10 and beat them no hit. but my friends were casual gamers. i knew it would be a challenge to get them in to dark souls. so i gave them +10 weapons and armor as they learned the combat and adapted to it. we ended up playing dark souls 3 coop together completely vanilla. he got gud. a game is suppose to be fun. and i made my friends have fun

DS2>DS3 and thats not even up to debate. DS3 fans are delusional, but yk, Miyazaki made it.

For me i think its a remake of a perfect game and this is really rare (bloodborne next please)

Eh. I played like 20 minutes and got pretty bored. The market is full of slow burn survival horror games and I hadn't even heard of this one, whereas my ear is firmly pressed to the ground for most releases. If it was generating a buzz of any kind then I think it would've received more attention. As soon as "hunger" mechanics showed up I was out.

I never say this, cuz usually dark souls 2 has cursed my life with its existence. But i honestly dont like dark souls 3 much either. I'm genunely surprised people claim its their fav in all honesty. Demons souls is great, dark souls 1 is like hands down fucking amazing, but the only other game that came close to capturing me like those two was indeed bloodborne. I have to say, When lies of p came out and i played it. I WAS FUCKING HOOKED, LITERALLY EXECUTED THE SOULS FORMULA AS PERFECT AS ONE COULD WHILE NOT WORKING IN FROMSOFT! People who complain about the dodge, the block and the parry system really confuse me too man. Its not trash, it actually WORKS, you just have to practice and learn to use the mechanics, which has always been what souls game have been about. Learning and overcoming. The one reason I won’t buy this game is due to blooper team hiring hit detection. I agree the visual look good and I think the atmosphere is overall good as well. But my biggest problem is how they changed Maria, Maria is supposed to be wearing a revealing outfit not for fap material but because it’s important to the lore and James’s psyche. Not to mention how they altered the appearance of the nurses. Now if the game comes out and if the story isn’t ruined and the game is really really really enjoyable and it feels like a sh2 remake, I’d be willing to reconsider, maybe.

this video is so funny, it has literally every issue hbomb's on DS2 does SOMEHOW while still being mostly about DS3. You endlessly astroturf with "I played the other games guise!!!" and knowledge of prior gimmick bosses to somehow protect you from criticism when it just shows you have the knowledge to STOP yourself from making such a video. and THEN you have the audacity to make some fringe, nonexistent link between ADP and Endurance "Stamina". another insane thing you copy directly from Hbomb is using horrible anecdote with zero evidence, like that proves NOTHING you could've just made up that soul level 1 friend. Another insane thing you do is bashing DS3's level design and defending 2's with "I don't care about the strange design" qualifying exactly nothing about what you said prior about DS3's. Admit to yourself that you tried to lazily copy a BAD video (In Defense of Dark Souls 2) and used his arguments to fill boxes that don't even exist in DS3.

im also 32, and i just finished crow country and i want more, it felt short and too easy (except for some puzzles that i googled 5 times what a shame), but it feels like i want to play again in hard mode with a bit of speedrun just to feel the real horror and difficulty of the game

I was expecting there to be some substance to this but of course its another ds2 fan mad people dont like his favorite game and saying ds3 is bad because game fast or whatever lol complete with the longwinded story of how the game wasn't what you expected it to be. I love how in the only section where you have an original thought (the bizarre section about endurance dumping being necessary for playing the game because it was hard for you without it) you top it off by copying hbomberguy's fake laugh and screen shake 💀.

This may be anectdotal, but I think one place where a genuine improvement over the original game can be made here lies within the resource managment aspect of the game. SH2 is an incredibly easy game, and as far as combat goes, very low stress. The enemies are not dangerous at all in 2. Theyre slow, have no range, and kind of just let you wail on them without doing much about it. By the time I reached the hospital, I had handgun bullets in the tripple didgits, and never dipped below that again. The game also gives you tons and tons of healing items and higher tier ammo, but theres not really any enemies in the game that justify using that that ammo on save for the Abstract Daddies way later in the game, of which there really are not that many. By contrast, 1 also gives the player a lot of ammunition and healing items, but it actually makes you use them, and use a lot of them at that. The enemies are so much more dangerous and sufforcating to deal with. The Overworld is a good example, where the dogs and pterodactyls are fast, rather tanky, hyper aggresive, and best of all actually use the fog to their advantage by ambushing you, doing some damage, and the retreating into the fog again only to come back from a different angle later. Beyond that, the little baby things in the school have grab attacks that can combo you, there's the gorilla walking ass things in the later sections of the overworld who are just very fast and very tanky, and there's the monsters in the sewers who attack you from the cieling and actually show uo in more than one room (looking at you, flesh lips). By contrast, the nurses ind lying figures in SH2 just kind of shamble around, and get bored of you very quickly. You don't have to kill anything in the overworld because everything is so non threatening. The only time something can really force james to fight is when he's indoors and cornerd, otherwise your can just walk around them and kite them like theyre geriatric. This is where I find the trailer to be most promising, the combat looks great. Its visceral, urgent, and sloppy in a good way. People tend to dismiss Silent Hill as even being survival horror because 2 is so incredibly geanerous with its supplies, but 1 was thoroughly designed to drain your resources through the game. I think there should always be a real element of survival horror in any silent hill game, where you're truggling to stay topped uo on health and actually questioning if its even worth it to kill an enemy. Silent Hill 2 did not have this. I hope the remake will.

Lord of p parry isn’t frame 1 so it feels bad. As someone who brute forces parrying it feels god awful, awkward and frustrating. I keep saying I pressed the button but it doesn’t count because this one game thought it would be fun to FORCE this jank version of this play style down our throats and not do it right. This game is not for people who like to dodge. This game is Definitely for a very small amount of people and I’d highly recommend you try it! If you like it you will love this game! if you don’t don’t bother

Lies of p had so much potential. People looking past it’s MYRAID of flaws LOVE it and that cool as cause this game is great otherwise. But poor Pinocchio rolls like a broken beanbag and couldn’t even run away from a jellybean if he tried. The parrying is not frame 1 so it’s feels terrible and I’m someone who brute forces parrying in any game I play. The trip to bosses wastes your time when you could be actually having fun fighting a boss. I’m not here to watch Pinocchio run 2 miles and hour for 25 seconds just die repeatedly to a boss use a summon beat it first try no damage then fight the next boss fail cause I dint have the skills cause I cheesed the first boss and give up cause it’s way to hard now. The leveling up doesn’t do ANYTHING! The game scales enemy’s when you level up so it’s literally just there to waste your time! It’s so stupid! Like this game LOOKS sick, has epic lore! Bosses look fine nothing special. It all just falls flat and I was so excited to have fun. Oh AND there’s no toggle run! Ew

From my understanding, it's not the team itself people have issues with since as we can see from the artistic side of things they are very talented and care about trying to faithfully recreate Silent Hill and expand upon the atmosphere. The issue people have is the changes caused by the consulting firm that has expressed no awareness nor care to or for Silent Hill 2, much less its lore, and the changes this consulting firm has made the development team do that are antagonistic towards the central themes and story of Silent Hill 2. I think Mary is the second most brought up example for the antagonistic relationship to the themes of Silent Hill 2, given what she's supposed to be in the original isn't really being matched with her redesign in the trailer. It's also why people bring up the character designs so much, since all of the women shown in the trailer show the same problems that are known to be tied to the consulting firm, which normally should bode anxiety for fans since this does give indications there will be censorship of the story and degrading of the characters due to them being left to have their final drafts written by people who don't know and don't care about either that also have made clear they are already influencing the development of the game through character designs, which is second to their purpose of rewriting scripts for "insensitivite topics and dialogue" in games.

In regards to your point of it being nearly done and the sequencing being decided I've got to point out that the widely accepted tracklist was only put together in 2003 by Brian. The big problem was that assembling everything in an analogue fashion was nearly impossible in 67. It was originally only supposed to be 12 songs and Brian had no idea which bits to keep or discard

Yeah no I ended up blasting through this game in like a week and ended up liking it better than all of Fromsoft’s titles

I must admit the blank "official paper" hiding place is a bit too much, I also had a hard finding it myself. BUT, you're not being honest about this, or you simply didn't know that there are several hints in the game that allows you to locate it. First, the guard enounces cleary that he needs a release permit, you can print one litteraly two rooms after but if given to him he says he needs an official document, not just a permit printed on a blank page. And, there is a flashback sequence (easy to find with the camera) that shows where the documents have been moved to: two characters talks to each other about it, and you get to see the full part of what is a paper on wall that shows "Room 105". In the current reality of the game it's teared off. I'm not saying this is great puzzle design, but it's totally possible to find it without looking at a walkthrough if you pay attention and understand the game mechanics.
