Long throw back, I loved the giant heat axe of the Black Tri Stars and also Dozle Zabi's on his personal Zaku. On the Gundam side the RX's melee weapons wasn't limited to beam sabers, there's also the giant chain flail, although not heated is strong enough to mash up a Zaku like a potato.

You forgot to add the kampfer schwer to the variant list. Also didn't know about the one from the fastest formula series so that was a pleasant surprise

One thing that I didn’t realize wad the titania being a Kampfer variant. Probably should’ve known with all its armaments.

Why only amphibious mobile suits?

I play GBO2, also read all the official overviews, and got Titania in the DLC. It’s obviously the predecessor, then High Mobility Kampher, then it’s gets even trickier with the Dolmel and it’s other special variants. You should get Gbo2 it’s literally a Gundam encyclopedia

the Kampfer was ahead of its time, why have so much armor if you aren’t planning on getting hit, like the Gundam Mk ii, just be so fast and light nothing can hit you. Definitely a precursor to that ideology of mobile suits

Great idea for a sub series. There are only so many amphibians after all. I don't know how you managed to get through that whole video without mentioning Patlabor though. While the influence is less obvious 35 years later (with 2000 more official MS) the Kampfer's design was so heavily influenced by the trends of Patlabor that at the time it was almost kind of embarrassing for Bandai. It seemed like they had run out of ideas. There are even people who build Kampfer's in Patlabor color schemes and add a little number plate on its belt because the relationship is so close. The original box art for the 1/144 Kampfer looks like a Patlabor kit, straight up. Blends right in with Helldiver, Griffen, etc. Same designer, same year...almost the same thing. The Kampfer just needs booties on its joints.

Since CE got Zaku,Gouf,Dom and recently Gyan,Zgok and Gelgoog Only matter of time it's Kampfer and remaining of Zeon MS will get their AU counterpart in CE

The High Mobility Kampfer is just brilliant. Extremely oversized proportions going at speeds that would probably knockout a normal pilot, customised solely for hit and run attacks.

Glad for the new series and looking forward to it!… but, sadly we are not off to a great start: One of my personal gripes is people putting out of context the actual effectiveness of the Kampfer’s armor. For starters, here are the specs of the MS-14A: Height 19.2m / Weight 42.1mt By your logic, the Gelgoog has thinner armor than Kampfer, which couldn’t be further from the truth. Being fair, MS specs can sometimes very be very inconsistent (Doms and Gelgoogs have sometimes been given two widely different sets of weight stats, a lighter one closer to 40mt, and heavier ones between 50-60mt). But if weight is an unreliable measure, what can we use? Keep reading: It’s important to note that early in the TV series, most Zakus are using 120mm machine guns with explosive bullets… which have low armor penetration. By the time the Kampfer makes its debut, both Zeon and the EF are more commonly fielding 90mm weapons (including the Alex) which despite the lower caliber have better penetration. As a side note, Gundam Frag (extra from the ZZ blu rays) has a short video showing the testing of the Alex Gatling guns versus the armor of a MS-06, a MS-07 and a MS-09. The video stops after showing the weapon being effective against both Zaku & Gouf armor, leaving the question of Dom armor can stop it. That suggests that the Kampfer may as well has armor as strong as a Gouf (itself having better armor than a Zaku), and still be shredded by the Alex Gatling guns. Furthermore, comparing the YMS-18 to the MS-18E, we mainly see the removal of armor plates around the skirt area, so while you could argue that particular section is more vulnerable, but overall the MS-18E does seem to have about the same level of protection as the YMS-18 in the rest of the frame. I may also point out how the MS-18NF supposedly added more armor to overcome the low defenses of the MS, but this mainly come as a couple of front skirt armors and a couple of plates on the navel & forehead… while removing some armor from other sections (rear leg thrusters a) and reducing it on other sections (arms). I don’t buy the “paper armor” claim, it seems greatly exaggerated and evidence suggests it’s now where as bad as it has been claimed. Plus, I need to reiterate that at the time the Kampfer is rolled out, MS guns with better penetration are becoming more commonplace.

Ha YES the Kampfer also known as hedgehog thanks to how many weapons it has such a beautiful MS literally the MS I would pilot if I was a Zeon soldier though I will not really be using that many weapons only a 1X Beam Bazooka 1X Sturm Fausts and 1X shotgun and 2X Beam Saber I always been a sucker for high risk high reward maybe that’s why my friends sometimes hate me and games lol for real though such a beautiful MS Equally I’m grateful for you talking about The RF Kampfer always wanted to know about that MS so again thank you so much

Einhau actually means "one blow/hew" or "single blow/hew", referring to ending an enemy in a single strike. Related is the term mordhau, "murder blow" or "death blow", the attack that finishes off an enemy.

theres also the Kampfer Schwer which got a limited kit recently. Its basically a Kampfer thats all black with some Sinanju Stein styled armor. And while it's not really official, there is the ymas13B Greifer which is a fan design that won a contest for Hobby Japan magazine and even got a resin kit, basically a roided up kampfer using a Doga as a base just like the RF Kampfer.

Yes one of my favorites the MS-18 Kampfer.

Great idea for a series! One of the things that I really love about Gundam is all the variants on the mobile suits and even mobile armors.

In a way, the Kampfer is the Gundam equivalent of Doom Slayer. Just moves fast and carries a full armory where ever he goes. Although for more fun, take the Breaker games and somehow add even more weapons to the Kampfer, cause why not.

Its more late/post UC, but I think the Grimoire's Wire Hook and the Beam Wire feature it shares with the G-Arcane are worth noting. The Wire Hook is seemingly similar if not exactly the same as the Heat Wire even thousands of year later. The Beam Wire however had the cutting and constricting fuctions of the old heat rod. Both functions split between seperate two weapons. The G-Arcane has one Beam Wire emitter in each arm similar to the Gouf while the Grimoire's Wire Hook is in the arm and its Beam Wire is essentially a secondary firing option of its beam machine gun. The Grimoire is one of the main units of the Amerian Military, and considering Ameria used ancient blue prints from the Universal Century for building the very Zeta-esque G-Arcane, it would not surprise me if the Grimoire was directly inspired by old data from the Gouf. Feels very appropriate considering the the first Grimoire pilot we see, Cahill Saint, is very much felt like G Reco's equivalent to Ramba Ral.

If M'Queve was not stupid, he could've definitely given Gyan some more versatility with a couple of ranged weapons, or maybe the modularity with Gelgoog parts. Maybe Galbaldy Alpha could've been made much earlier.

I had no idea that the Vulcans on Mobile Suits shot rounds upwards of 60mm that fast. That could easily shred infantry targets if they put explosive rounds in there. Like imagine you are trying to hide in a house from the enemy mobile suits and it shoots 105mm HE Rounds into the house one over from you? That firepower is terrifying.

Genoace have a simple but good design, too bad their weapons sucks.
