How to Use Leftover Ingredients (My Framework)
This is NOT a recipe... it’s a framework.
Sometimes it’s amazing, sometimes it’s just ok... but it’s always better than wasting your leftover food.
8 Step Framework
1 Brown the protein/uncooked main:
Pork, Chicken, Beef, Mushrooms, Eggplant, Zucchini
2 Add aromatics:
Onions, Carrots, Celery, scallions, shallots, leeks, ginger, garlic, sweet peppers
3 Flavor bombs:
Garlic, Peppers, Spices, Herbs, Seasoning Packs
4 Soup base:
Tomato Sauce, Chicken Stock, Vegetable Broth
5 Taste and adjust:
Salt, Pepper, Herbs, Spices
6 Add things that boil:
Pasta, Dumplings, Beans, Potatoes, Frozen Veg
7 Simmer as long as the items you added in step 6 NORMALLY cook for.
8 Add anything fresh:
Spinach, cheese, spring onions, kale, croutons

    Hey i just wanted to say you are the only north American cooking channel I'm subbed to. You are humble, professional and really have respect for the dishes you create. Plus you don't add 6 types of cheeses and half a cup of garlic powder to everything🤭😉 or use those hyper processed jars of sauces and other commercially made ingredients like cool whip or fluff (I've seen some horrible things, especially "desserts") Keep doing what you're doing, love from Australia 🤙

    Americans using any other measurement besides metric again. Pro tip: minutes, seconds and hours are metric. Pro tip 2: yes I ordered those time units incorrectly to mock your awful system of dates, i.e. m/d/y. It's y/m/d or d/m/y.

    As an italian, there's one last thing: when you put the carbonara cream in the pan with the pasta, make sure that the heat is off, otherwise you'll end up turning the cream to scambled eggs

    Another tip is to study what people do in cooking videos, and strive to do the opposite. You dont need to dirty 12 bowls to measure out spices, just use a spoon, or better just eyeball it and taste often

      Why? Freezing it doesn't make it nasty? It makes it less quailty, less flavourful, less fresh but it doesn't change the actual flavour. Your basically just saying you don't like soffritto. Also, restaurants DO use some frozen shit, even in Italy.
