Oslo Travel Guide: Sørenga Seawater Pool
Check out this new seawater pool and bathing place right at the hearth of Oslo! This large jetty is specifically made for bathing. It is free to use, all year around. It is within walking distance from Oslo Opera and Oslo Central Station.
The bathing complex features a beach, an enclosed salt water pool, and a salt water pool with swim lanes. There is also a dive tower and a life guard service.
Behind the beach starts a promenade that runs along the fjord to towards the Oslo Opera. There are restaurants, bars and coffeeshops. Featured in this film was:

At Friluftshuset Sørenga you can rent kayaks which you can use for paddling in the Oslo Fjord. The webpage for the kayak rental is unfortunately only in Norwegian:

Sørenga sjøbad is pen all year around, but bathing at night is prohibited. As of 2018, the opening hours are 06-22.

      Perhaps not funny anymore with the current housing crisis. I moved to Thailand and probably won't be coming back to Oslo because it's simply not worth the cost anymore. Nevermind. It was fun while it lasted. 😊

      Most people would probably just go to one of the many local slopes with a toddler. But then you need your own sled or something to slide on. You can buy them at any sports shop. Doesn't have to be fancy. Here's an overview of slopes in Oslo: www.aktivioslo.no/guide/aking/akebakker/ You can also go to Korketrekkeren as I did in the video to rent a sled. Just go when there are not too many people like weekdays and use your feet to break and you'll be fine.

    Taking a mini cruise to Oslo from Copenhagen giving 5 hours there.Thought i had a plan with it bein a compact city but your very informative videos are throwin up allsorts of new stuff. Should have stayed one night at least.Damn.

      You can walk through Karl Johan street from west to east, see the Opera building, and then walk from the Opera up along Akerselva river to see Grünerløkka. It should be doable in 4 or 5 hours, depending on how long time you spend on each spot.

    Akerselva deler ikke Oslo mellom øst og vest. Det er Uelands gate som deler Oslo i øst og vest Østkanten og vestkanten brukes om de to delene av Oslo som dannes av det økonomiske og sosiale skillet som historisk går langs Uelands gate.

      I'm glad you liked it.🙂 It should be easy to find work as an IT developer. I am one too. If you are from a country in the EU or EEC the Norwegian company can hire you without any problems. If you are from the rest of the world I think it's more challenging because of visa issues.

I am not a senior, so I was a bit worried because I consider that Norway is super techonologically advanced and they may prefer to look for senior developers, especially within the country. Alright, at least I have IT and PL documents so it may be a good start. I will investigate about house rentals and so on.

      @@OsloProJonas Yeah, I could imagine that many things have changed in the meantime, but the video gave me anyways some useful info about the overall structure of the city and it will help me to choose the right hotel to stay at. Sadly I will be there just for one day, after my Lofoten trip, and I will spend most of the day at Spektrum for a concert...but, since I managed to drag my parents into this trip, and they are not coming to the concert, I want to give them as much info as possible about Oslo sightseeing.
