What a brilliant tutorial. Thank you so much. I'm just about to make 2 pairs of interlined full-length curtains using a width and a half in each curtain. Should I do a wide catch stitch down the length of the curtain fabric and the interlining to 'fix' the interlining? My fabric is a cotton/linen mix, so not as heavy as that in your tutorial. Thank you again.

Shocking music

Just wondering why you don't place the lining in under the hems and side hems of the outer fabric the way you do with the buckram tape? Wouldn't all the fabric then drape and move together nicely? I have always wondered why the two have to be separate then hand stitched.

I made the mistake of following the pattern on the edge and top and bottom of some curtains I made in the eighties (in my 20s) only to find at the end that my curtain was off at an angle and didn't hang properly. It was a HUGE disappointment and since then I religiously measure and check and triple check before cutting fabric. I only use a draftsman's right angle ruler to neaten the edge of fabrics before cutting. Shame on manufacturers who produce fabrics that are not straight or have printed patterns that are not straight. Thank you for your wonderful tutorial I have learnt something new xx🌹 P.S. pesky knots ! 😠

How do you not have pin holes in your black out lining reason being I find the light comes thru the pin holes when it’s extended

Hi. I have followed this tutorial making a long one 325cm. I used Essex board though. One piece 240cm and the other shorter and it is up and there is a slight kink at join. Any advice please?! I'm planning on redoing it in two equal lengths?

These tutorials are so easy to follow. I just wondered, as a complete novice, if you could explain how we work out the size of fabric to start with for the drop/width window we have (i.e what allowance to include for hem/seam and fixtures)?

Hi Sandy, I love your tutorials and now want to try sewing myself. Can you recommend a good beginners sewing machine which will be strong enough to sew curtain / blinds fabric?

I think your tutorials are excellent there is so much step by step detail from start to hanging up to give a professional outcome. My query is that I have a pair of blinds in my kitchen there's nothing wrong with them but I would like to change the material. It seems wasteful, not to mention expensive, to throw these away and make new ones so Is there an easy way to add new material to the original lining and pully system? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thankyou
