I don't know why they changed them, it seems like a simplified combat and levelings ystem to me.

From what I’ve seen most of the criticism is that the game seems to be less mature in terms of writing and feel, saying that it’s more infatalized. It’s happened to other series, e.g. saints row

@@thomascross1406 that's totally fair honestly, but we'll have to see how the writing goes once the game is released

​@@AmythicalFauxtheres been no indication so far that this game will have any tactical mode or elements. Weve seen the paise wheel and its the most bare bones wheel to date in these games. Its full action and what little is left of the old systems seems so half assed its safe to assume its only there for the sake of tradition and will be entirely done away with if this game performs well and a sequel happens.

The meaningful criticism is there. You just don't like it or don't want to see it's there

which is better, auto-attacking (DAO) or controlling your attacks via button input? That's difference, the rest is still using an ability or spell from resource stamina or magic and it goes on cooldown, repeat with filler damage = auto-attacking or button combos in-between.

That’s because these Origin Elitist have nothing better to do than to treat the other games like Dragon Age 2, Dragon Age Inquisition and Dragon Age Veilguard like it’s the worst thing to ever happen to this franchise. They hate change and just want everything in Dragon Age to stay the same.

Dragon Age as a franchise has neeeever been consistent in look, feel, and gameplay. Ofc Veilguard wasn't going to be an Origins remake... it's a whole new game 😂

i cant wait myself. i made the mistake of looking at steam discussions the type of hate its getting i haven't seen in a while most of it you would think its a bunch children throwing a hissy fit. just keep in mind they are just a very loud minority

Maybe there is a legitimate criticism to be made beyond "it's not Origins"? Maybe having nothing in common in game play with other three previous games (even Inquisition had tactical options, character control and multiple skills) is more of an issue? Maybe the initial trailer being bad isn't a good sign? Maybe changing aspects of some characters and lore doesn't feel well? Maybe dismissing Solas as the main villain while the previous game ended with setting him up as the main villain is also a reason for concern? Maybe the fact that the main character ends up being affected by the veil in a magical ritual, which was meant to manipulate the veil, is the same exact start of the Inquisition, does not give a confidence in good story or writing? This game can end up being a good game on it's own, but if you showed this to someone who only played Origins without telling the name, they would not recognize it as a Dragon Age game and not because of being hater, but simply because there's nothing in common in gameplay or design. Even the demons are unrecognizable. There is plenty of genuine critique and complaint about it being different from the previous games. Is the game "overhated"? Maybe... But there's plenty of reasons for the long time fans to dislike what we are seeing. Dragon Age THE Veilguard may end up being a good game, but so far, from what we were shown it's not a good Dragon Age game, but fantasy Mass Effect game at best.

@@janbenes3165 True. Maybe Veilguard isn't going to be a good Dragon Age game, but a good game on it's own terms. Lots of Franchises have had bad games which are good games to stand out on it's own. Just look at Final Fantasy 16 for example. That game received a lot of flack for not sticking with the traditional Final Fantasy turned based gameplay as well as the lack of a companion system that the franchise is known for. It's often viewed as a Devil May Cry game. But it's a good game on it's own due to the writing, world building and characters. Another example is God of War Norse Duology. Some veterans were turned off by the sudden change of gameplay, but it was able to stand out on it's own and received a lot of critical acclaim because of it. Take Warcraft 3, it's completely different from the previous 2 games, but the story telling, graphics, expansion of the lore and complex characters helped make the game stand out on its own. Tales of Arise is another example as that game wasn't considered a Tales of game due to it's approach to open world gameplay, completing side quests and tone. But it was a good RPG due to it's gameplay, characters and narrative. Sly 2 was a huge change from the first Sly Cooper Game as it went from action platformer into an open world stealth game which is how Assassin's Creed got inspiration from. It was even consider the best of the franchise. Jak 2 was the same thing as that game went from an action platformer into an open world GTA clone. There is the problem of difficulty spikes, but the game still had that crude humor, funny characters and interesting lore.

Personally I don't like new visual style, it become more cartoonish, but I'll wait till release and first reviews.

It looks a bit simplistic, but players probably feel burned from previous EA titles. I loved DA3 and look forward to this one.

Ai as the party members or enemies? Cuz we see party members attack enemies a bunch, and we see enemies attack main character a lot.

​@SeventhheavenDK you're kidding? See enemies hit with Lace arrows, Varric crossbow 5:12 red beam attack and Neve ice spells. While Rook gets hit hence needing to use potions quite a few times. How are you not seeing that lol

Cool, this is a different game. It's in the DA world. It isn't DA:O. It isn't DA:I. If you hate it, stop seeking it out.
