I totally understand your situation. There is also another situasion, that when you have a really high dioptre and people don't understand that you can't see without your glasses. It's totally diffent, if somebody have low or high dioptre. If it's higher, as you go up you start to lose your vision. Even if you're not totally blind, you can be really close to it. For example, my situation: without my glasses i'm nearly blind, i only have weak color patches, i can't find my way around, i can't recognize any stuff, people or something.
