    What is your 4th gear overdrive gear ratio in that 4R70W trans? Do you know what rpm you are at when going 70mph or 80 mph with those 4.11 gears? How tall a tire are you running? Sorry for all the question but much appreciated if answered.

      OD is 0.7. With a 28” tire, it ran 75 at 2500 rpm, and 82 at 3000 rpm with the converter locked. I’m now running a 26” tire, so it’s obviously running higher rpms at those speeds now.

      Prior to installing this transmission, I could only run 60 at 3000 rpm. In OD with the converter locked, I now run 82 at 3000 rpm. Locking the converter is almost like grabbing another other gear.

    Also i will swap an aod from patc with a 351 posibly stroke to 408 but i can’t find any headers for my 67 mustang using 351 9.5 !

      Hooker Super Competition 6208. They are 67 Mustang 351w swap headers. 1 3/4” primaries.

      I’m running the Steeroids power rack and pinion. www.speeddirect.com/shop/product/1964-1-2-1970-mustang-steeroids-rack-pinion-conversion-kit-with-column-power-steering-7578?category=1#attr=132,123,126,129 The Hooker 6208’s did not fit on the driver’s side. I had do beat the crap out of one of the primaries to get it to fit around the steering linkage. It would have fit with manual steering.

      I believe it’s the Super Victor. He ran it up to 6300, but power started dropping off after 6000.

      Cam specs show up to 6600 rpm. I’m fairly confident I need stiffer springs, which is why I peaked out around 5900 rpm.

      I bought it new in the box from a buddy of mine for $500. If I remember correctly, at the time he bought it, the one with the trans brake was not an option.

    What block plate and starter did you use, for your conversion? I just picked up, a "98" Mustang V6 4R70W. I confirmed the SBF bolt pattern, though the starter position is not the same as for, the old AOD V8 block plate used to check the bolt pattern.What year and model block plate and starter did use for you job? Thanks .

      The block plate is CJ Pony Part# TSP12. The inspection plate is CJ Pony Part# INSP10. I used the same starter I was running in my C4. Don’t forget the 164 tooth flex plate.

      Hmmm maybe add 2 more then try leaning it out until you get your highest rpm/vacuum level. Im getting 10 out of my 351w comp xe282hr with 18 degrees and carbed

      I found that my timing was actually retarded several degrees, and now that I have it right, I’m getting 9” at idle. I’m waiting until I can put it on a dyno to try to lean it out.

    I subscribed, after seeing yer 1st video.. Loved this ride along... I cannot help, but think, 🤔 the worst case scenario you described in the 1st video, could be prevented, perhaps, with wiring some relays, to create an "interlock" circuit protection for the trans? If the aftermarket hasn't already beat me to the 👊 punch ? Keep at it brother...

      My ratchet shifter has 2 micro safety switches: one for park and one for neutral. I thought about adapting the one for neutral to instead use for 3rd gear. If the switch isn’t engaged, it wouldn’t allow you to go into OD or lock the converter. Or, if you are in OD or have the converter locked, and you downshift, it would drop out the switch, thus disengaging OD and unlocking the converter.

      I like the way you think, on the shifter switches. I would be so bummed, if I smoked a trans because I was having a near senior moment, and forgot manipulate the dash switches ! @@dihlonbecker3965

    Hey there, did freshen up the trans, or install as is ? If not, did you have them, add 2 clutch bands? My research says, the V6 version, has two spacers, in place of two clutches, the OEM V6 didn't need.. Thanks, and good luck.. I plan on installing one myself, in a 65 Fastback...

      I didn’t have anyone go through it. A local transmission shop wanted $1700; screw that. I only paid $300 for the transmission. It’s a 2002 model, and from what I understand, the 98-02 are the most desirable models.

    That was to be expected. Mopar has always had more power at the cost of reliability. That race alone probably took 20k miles off the lifespan of that Mopar, lol.

      I try to shift at 6k rpm. Cam spec says the range is 2600 - 6600. It's the Lunati Voodoo 20350712.

      Noticed when you turned on overdrive the slightest rev-up. I had a C4 years ago that revved like that on the 2-3 shift. Never went bad just a little annoying. Lol. Love your car.

    Hi Dihlon! I run a built C-6 behind my 67 Mustang Gt with a 460 BBF. Off Hand, does anyone know if I could mate the 4R70W behind the 460? I also run 4:11 gears. Thanks for any feedback on this. Cheers from Motown/Dearborn.

      It would not work with your current motor. The 4r70w has the SBF bell housing pattern.

    Nice Brother!!! My next project is swapping my 460 BB out to a 351W roller motor. I have no room under the hood to change plugs, header gaskets etc with that 460 in there. A nice built 351W stroker will be all I need for the Streets! Cheers from Motown/Dearborn.

      If you are referring to the loose rocker in my other video, it was because I initially installed a flat tappet cam for my build. I actually ate up 10 of the 16 lifters. I’ll never run a flat tappet again.

      Gas cap is vented, but I went ahead and drilled and tapped the filler neck and vented it out of the trunk just in case.

      @@68nitrostang Have not been to the track since rebuild. I have to fix my rear suspension first; I have wheel hop from hell. Also need to finish getting the EFI dialed in. I only have 7” at idle.

      @@jonathankoros It actually idles quite well. I’m still trying to get it dialed in. I am running lean, probably due to an exhaust leak, and the heat off my headers melted my shifter cable, so it’s dead right now. I’m also getting a sump welded on my fuel tank with a 1/2” NPT versus only the 1/4” I’m using now for my fuel supply. Once I get these resolved, I hope it will run better.
