This would have killed the second episode of the finale Stone Dead. The audience would reason "Everyone is dead, why bother coming back.".

I really liked the finale but if this was the end of legend of ruby Sunday it would make it better, an extra 5 minutes with Sutekh being one step ahead of the doctor or a scene with the doctor or Ruby planning would’ve been better as well with this opening being moved to a cliffhanger

Ehhh there's no reason to re-watch this Series. RTD shouldn't have come back if he was going to half-ass it. No amount of re-editing can save it. #YeahNowWeDemandANewShowrunnerAgain #DoctorWho #DisneySucks etc.

The line that made me start to predict where this was going was "he's not as stupid as he looks" it's not a line that would normally make me think really at all just the fact that everyone else was white and she's basically saying the only person who isn't looks stupid was a huge red flag

I think there’s more than meets the eye happening here, one thing the finale established was that these gods can create harbingers and give them backstories etc, we even saw one of Susan Triad’s splinters was Lindy’s mum! Is it possible someone or something gave Ruby a picture perfect happy ending to throw the Doctor off the scent? Knowing how he fears “ruining” the people he loves, there’s nothing like a resolved personal plot line to send him dashing towards the hills, no? Maestro seemed oddly freaked out by Ruby for the resolution we got, also, who’s Maestro’s mother? Do these things reproduce like that? The Mary Poppins reference and the specific wording of “mysterious adventurer thru time and space” are very Missy, as is the demand to Cherry that she warn God that she’s gonna storm heaven lmaoooo

In The Church on Ruby Road, the Doctor's attention is drawn to Ruby in the first place because of some detectable disturbance in the ether, caused by Goblin-related activity. I have taken this as a sign that there is more to the matter than the government is telling us.

Gotta admit it’s kind of funny that they were so annoying their own tech wanted to kill them all. And not just in a simple way either, it dreams up some weird alien to give them false visions of just for fun. But did it want to kill them because they were vapid or because they were racist? Hard to know they were racist when they were all white. Also, what happened to all of the older people in the society? At first I thought it was a conspiracy and they sent their spoilt layabout kids here to be killed because they contributed nothing to society, but it turns out they are just gone? A few too many unanswered questions in this episode for me.

The gut punch from this episode, as The Doctor faced Lindy, when I suddenly realised every kid in FineTime was white. And the fact that I'd only just noticed. Because these things aren't subtle. The flags are super obvious in hindsight. I'd just dismissed them. I hadn't noticed. Which is what happens in real life. Privileged people don't see the little aggressions. The little aggressions that can be just as damaging as a slur. And this was an intensely powerful way to show that.

The absolute worst part about this episode for me personally was I did not even notice or flinch at any of the blatantly obvious racism that was being dangled in front of me. Only after seeing the end of the episode and after going back and rewatching did I realize how obvious it was. Really made me feel icky. But at the same time that's why I enjoyed the episode I don't consume media just so I can feel think and learn nothing

It's not just racism but classism, privilege and xenophobia. Coupled with the, obnoxious arrogant insincere positive vibs and obsession with screens and technology that makes it a very despicable society.

Russell you really are a genius at creating unintentional comedy and that last episode was so bad it’s hilarious. We can’t demonise disabled people but we sure as hell can weaponise disabled 13 year olds! 😂😂😂🍕
