Logan Lewis (Lew) - From the Front Lines to Mentorship: A Ranger's Journey
Robert & Kyle coming at you from Pearl and Pine Brewery in downtown Senoia, GA. We had an awesome chat with our guest Logan Lewis (Lew), who just witnessed a graduation at Ranger School. Lew's journey from the 75th Ranger Regiment, Old Guard, and 6th Ranger Training Battalion (RTB) to mentoring and coaching soldiers is nothing short of inspiring.
Lew opened up about his transition from the Ranger Regiment to the Old Guard, and how he found his true calling in guiding young soldiers. He shared some incredible stories, like mentoring a soldier who went from feeling discouraged to becoming a top Ranger. Lew's all about pushing boundaries, both physically and mentally, and he's got a knack for spotting potential in others.
We also got into the nitty-gritty of Ranger Regiment life, the importance of mental toughness, and how leadership is all about empathy and compassion. Lew's dedication to filling the Ranger Regiment with top-notch soldiers is truly commendable. Plus, he's got some cool insights on the evolving nature of warfare and how training needs to adapt to keep up.
If you're curious about what it takes to be a Ranger, or just want to hear some heartwarming mentorship stories, this episode is a must-listen. And hey, if you want to connect with Lew, just shoot him a message on Black Flag Nation (@blackflagnation_ on Instagram). He's always there to chat, share advice, and help you reach your goals.
Catch you on the next episode!

In my opinion, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars were fought by a multi-generational military. In very broad strokes, and especially at the outset of the wars, Millennials were the E-1 to E-4s, Generation X were E-5 to E-8s, and Baby Boomers made up E-9s and general officers. I know that breakdown is very general, and there are always exceptions to the rule, but to say that Iraq and Afghanistan were Millennial wars is not accurate. It is accurate, however, that a Millennial would take credit for everything.

This man had the most negative effect on me as a senior leader. He literally backed me into a corner my first year working civil service as a military spouse in Germany over something that was out of my control. The OIC and NCOIC had to step in, literally. A MFR was done with dozens of pages about the incident and he effectively was banned from coming into the S1 office. I’ll add at the time my husband was a service member who fell under this man, he couldn’t do anything. Such a difficult place to be for both of us. CSM Stockdill has passion for his soldiers no doubt but I almost quit because of him. The primary duty is to be soldier but I was a military spouse and under no circumstance should I have been treated the way I was nor would he tolerate someone intimidating his wife the way he did me. I tell other people about this encounter and how important it was in my career in civil service. I still work government but have determined by this instance what good and bad leaders look like. Thankful for his service but the most toxic person in my career.

Ngl bro if you have mental health problems don’t try being a ranger but you can still get really really far in life . If you deploy and end up traumatized or mutilated or anything on the sort you’re history could literally be a big big factor in rather you live or die . This isn’t for everyone and if you have mental or physical issues ( not legal ) then this may not be a good idea bro . Not to be rude but just to be honest bruh. To many ppl wanna be cool and end up committing suicide later bc they weren’t cut for this like they claim to be

@@RackeddUp I appreciate where you’re coming from my guy but i am good seriously. I know you are coming from a good place but you just don’t know how i am or what my situation was. My history does not make me who i am. I do not have mental health issues anymore, i have not for almost 5 years. My problems were situational. Things a young teen should not have to deal with. I did not have guidance on how to deal with my emotions. Now I am grown. Now I know how to deal with my issues. I count it as a plus, i already been in the deepest holes and i made it out. I know i can make myself better cause i have. Again I appreciate where you’re coming from
